Stumbled upon this pet store after my visit to Playa Bowls in Montgomery. They are very picky about the dog foods and treats they bring in to the store. Picked up some very unique products for my husband’s family dog that I can only find online. Overall very impressed with the selection and quality of products here.

This place is awesome. I took my 5-month-old puppy Roho for his first groom and Nicole did an amazing job 👍. She took time to ask questions and understand what I wanted for my fur baby. I am extremely happy. Definitely going back here for grooming. 😊

All around quality. Quality food options. Quality customer service. Quality products. And quality grooming. We bring our dog here for all of the above. She hates getting groomed but they make her feel so safe and cared for. Both owners are so knowledgeable and kind if you have any questions on any food, treat or pet care products. You can tell they opened the store because they really care about dogs.They also give pup cups which I think is absolutely adorable!!

Beautiful store! The owners are friendly and knowledgeable. There is an amazingly adorable selection of dog toys. I was also able to find the treats that my dog loves that I don't always find stocked in other dog stores. I will definitely be back! 😊🐶

I have made appointments here for my dog Cherry three times now, and they have never disappointed me! The staff are unbelievably friendly and accommodating. My dog is not a fan of bath time, but she is always so excited to see the staff. The store has a wide range of treats for dogs as well as fun toys. I will never stop raving about the Modern Canine!!!

We just took our puppy for a grooming here and LOVED everything about it. They are warm and welcoming and did a beautiful job!! I love the set up, especially because they don't have mass drop off of dogs and your dog is only there for the amount of time it takes to groom your dog. That is a real bonus for us! I highly recommend The Modern Canine!!

The Modern Canine is an absolute hidden gem in Montgomery! Every time we walk in we are greeted with such warmth and kindness. They put a huge emphasis on relationships and the happiness of their clients. Their love for dogs is evident. They are so knowledgeable in everything from grooming, food, toys, resources and events! We found our dog trainer who we absolutely love from them as well! We are looking forward to continuing to learn from them and enjoy our handsome puppy!

New store, amazing owners. The owners just opened the store on March 7th. They also plan to open a grooming salon which I can't wait to use.Our pups went there today for some treats and also to have a puppachino. The store has treats which the owners have vetteted themselves for quality ingredients. Wishing them nothing but success. We finally found the time to check out Modern Canine!! I am so glad we did! We loved the store and of course my pup Yoshi loved it even more☺️ he got all different types of treats and the tastiest puppuccino everrrr !! The owners are awesome and you can tell how much they love all dogs that come through! They are also very knowledgeable about the products they have and about pet nutrition! the best and cutest pet store out there! Lot of raw diet options and high quality dog food available.Grooming is quick and my dogs are in and out within 2 hours for full haircuts.This is one of the best grooming facilities in New Jersey! WOW where do I begin! The Modern Canine is WONDERFUL. My (and my dogs) experience were absolutely wonderful! We spoke with one of the owners monika who was so helpful and pleasant! She helped me pick out the proper food for my pup along with a super great enrichment toy for him! They treat all the dogs (and people) who come through the door with the utmost care and truly have something for everyone! All of their products are truly safe and good for your dog. My dog also loved his free puppacino, if you’re in the area I highly recommend stopping by the modern canine!

Brought our 8 month old puppy here for a full body cut and teeth brushing with Nicole. Our girl is an Aussiedoodle so her coat can be a bit tricky to deal with. Nicole did an amazing job! The cut of her coat from head to paws is completely uniform, and she looks adorable. Doodle coats can be so tough to groom, even for professionals, and Blueberry is now cool and comfy for summer, and cute as ever. They even called with 30 minutes left in the cut so I had plenty of time to pick her up. And of course, a free pup cup and bandana with service were the cherry on top. I’ve already scheduled my next cut with Nicole. I highly recommend this business - the entire staff is very dedicated to their canine clientele as well as their human families, and will go above and beyond to make sure your pup is well-taken care of.

I can't say enough about the amazing experience I had bringing my "difficult" dog to Modern Canine. I'm so impressed that they had scheduled a quick visit in order to assess Maisy's temperament before her actual grooming was to happen. Needless to say, I was very anxious given my dog's past experiences at two previous groomers. From the moment they greeted Maisy to the final pup cup treat before leaving, I knew she was in great hands. Thank you to Melissa and the incredible staff who put this nervous mother at ease!! We finally found our go to groomers!!

I have an Australian labradoodle puppy who is less than 11 months old, and I've finally found a groomer who listens to what I want and makes it happen! Kristen is the best- she's detail-oriented (the long lashes!), and can get rid of some ear matting while still maintaining the long-haired ears (I didn't realize I was only brushing the top layer, and learned from her that day how to brush her properly as a first-time dog mom). The store also has high-quality treats, food, and enrichment toys, along with other items you may want/need, and the owners are helpful and friendly. A great addition to the area!

I am very upset with the service provided to my Goldendoodle. The haircut and treatment were disastrous. When I arrived home and checked, I noticed that they had cut and irritated the skin on his right ear. The dog was very scared and wouldn't let anyone touch him. I understand that he might be difficult to handle, as he is afraid of being carried, but I believe part of professionalism would have been to call me and inform me that my dog was not cooperating, allowing me to make a decision about not cutting his hair. The well-being of my pet should come first, and informing me only after scaring him and making him look so bad is unacceptable. It seems that there should be training on how to handle dogs with care, love, and patience. I will not be bringing my dog back to that place.My dog mame is Milo.In response to Milo's case, I can only say the following.I feel a sense of dissatisfaction in your response, always on the defensive. Since I arrived to pick up my dog, all I heard was that he misbehaved and we should take him to a trainer. It seems like your staff needs training to handle various situations with dogs, fears, whatever it may be, and have protocols on how to act, ensuring the priority is always the animal's well-being. It would have made a difference if you had informed us that he was restless, explaining the abrasions on various parts of his body, and recommended or even provided some cream or oil for a more pleasant and less traumatic recovery. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to my dog at that moment; he came without his leash and scared, wanting to leave that place. What my dog needs is a psychologist and a lot of love to overcome this traumatic episode. He's spent three nights without sleep; we've had to bring him into our room. The little he sleeps is by our side; he trembles and runs around the room, scared and in pain. Tomorrow, we will take him to the vet for a check-up because for us, he's more than a pet; he's like a child. Unfortunately, he can't communicate to tell us what happened behind those doors. It's clear to me that what matters to you is charging for a service rather than the well-being of the animal. My neighbors are upset; a similar situation happened to their family, and the owners of the establishment focused on the dog, not charging for the service and covering the medical expenses. I hope that if you deal with other fearful dogs like ours, you'll call the owners first and consult on how to proceed. There's a lot of coaching needed to improve similar situations. I found this place when my regular spot’s phone lines were down. And I could not be more happy that I did. Everyone was super friendly, perfectly on schedule, and my dog looked great afterwards. I have been trying to find someone who understands how I would like his tail to look, forever (he’s got a massive fluffy, fanned, tail back there and it likes to grow long and get in everything on the ground). Nicole understood the assignment! I absolutely love this placeand will be going here from now on for my pups grooming and anytime he needs some fun little treats. Thank you everyone here for such a great experience and taking such good care of my fur child.

The Modern Canine is a wonderful place. The owners are so kind and knowledgeable, and the grooming staff is fantastic. I get my dog food for my Rottweiler from here, as well as his toys, and I get him bathed here as well. Everyone is so kind and friendly, they are very reasonably priced, and the thing that sets them apart from Petco/PetSmart, and other chains is that the staff cares about the dogs and what they are selling. Highly recommend them.
