I’ve been coming here for some years and my experience has always been pleasant. The staff that I’ve dealt with are usually knowledgeable about the animals in the store that I am purchasing and the place always seems clean. I’ve never had issues with any animals except with one clown loach fish. The employees are not professional zoo keepers with 20 years experience and I think the reviewer below just had a poor case of “regret” or something. Is it that hard to search the web about your specific animal? The key is to be RESOURCEFUL and do your own research before buying an animal and bringing it back.

I have been a consistent client for about half a year. With only one exception the staff has been helpful with every issue that has come up.That one exception has really done me wrong. Specifically, on Wednesday I saw a blue crayfish in a freshwater tank. I asked about it and was told that it was there for over a month. I asked that they hold it until Saturday so I could have time to put it in my daughter's tank. I was told 'No problem' I called on Friday, a day earlier than I originally intended to pick it up. I was told that they sold it. Then the person who answered the phone hung up. I will go in to discuss this with the manager, but this has left me less than enthused.Now I am on the hook to find a replacement.

Bought my mother a bird. He is great. My mom loves him. Thanks for all the help. All the people there are great and helpfull. Outgoing people. No snobs there. I will definitely shop for all my pet care needs there.

PetLand is a disgrace! The animals are wild caught!!! Meaning.... THEY PICK THEM FROM THE WILD AND CAGE THEM!!! THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO HANDLE, CARE FOR, OR SELL PETS. I bought a Chinese water dragon asked as many questions as I could and they were horrible with knowing information about the animals they have! Unfortunately it died two days later because they gave me barely information and also gave me a sick pet!!! Returned the body for a juvenile green iguana!! Once again tried to ask as much as I possibly could and again barely much said from their “ employees that are supposed to know this information” called a bunch of other places and even tried bringing her to another pet store. Unfortunately once again after a week my little lady died. It breaks my heart that people can just easily sell you a pet that can die within that day or a week! They are terrible at their jobs. I’ve read other reviews saying people’s fish die the next day. I personally will be starting a petition so they can no longer have a right to sell this poor beautiful animals that can enjoy there lives in the wild. Instead of being caged and set up for their deaths. I PERSONALLY RECOMMEND NEVER EVER GOING HERE! TO ANY PETLAND EVER!

I am trying to buy some silver dollars. the other petland discount from 440 jersey city selling at 2 for $12, I toke all of them and went to this store to get some more. The store has a price match guarantee poster . The are selling the same fish for 7 dollars each. When I pointed out the other store sells cheaper, the manager insist on selling the higher price. I was disappointed after the visit. And the fish the sell have some injuries the fin as well.

I bought my pet rabbit here in 2018 during the month of June, after doing no research and choosing my rabbit, the employees were not helpful and seemed clueless as to the age and sex of the rabbits. I brought her home only to notice her aggressive personality almost as if she was traumatized by the warehouse that produced these rabbits. They had no knowledge or experience of the animals they are working with unlike Petco or Petsmart employees. I was told that they lived off of pellets and water not hay and vegetables. I was pursuaded by the employees to buy a small rabbit cage as well which after doing research, found rabbits need playpens and enough space to run around. I was not told about their chewing habits and need for neutering and spaying. I would suggest adoption if you are looking for a pet rather than Petland which clearly has no knowledge on their animals! Also do research on the banding of rabbits in pet stores.

My daughter purchased a water dragon and it died the next day. She went back and got an iguna now it has eaten since she got it and it’s dying! They are terrible!!! My mother always had a bad experience with Petland. Every time she would by fish from them they died within a few hours or a day or two.

Edit ClosedVery friendly staff. I walked in to get turtle tank cleaner staff member knew exactly where it was helped me out and didn’t try to sell me anything else. Overall good shopping experience.

The guy who help me was very helpful and it was his day off..Me and my wife was at the store looking for our fist aquarium..and he help me out and came to my house to help show me how to set it up and explain to me about it..my wife was very happy with the experience we had..

Guinea pigs and rabbits in unkept cage
