What a wonderful surprise when we really needed a place to stay for the night. The room felt like a personal beach house on loan from a friend. I slept as I hadn't slept in days. I woke up to the salt air as I walked down to the beautiful light house park a few blocks away. What a treat!Nearby activities: The Coast Guard station was 1 block away, and the Light House Park and beach was just down the street.Noteworthy details: The room was finished with driftwood colored floors, light fixtures and decorations that reminded you that you were by the sea. Lovely.

I'm happy to say i was the first guest for the opening of the 2023 season, and I loved my cute little room. It was clean & quiet, pretty modern, and nicely decorated. I loved that it had a little refrigerator & microwave, and I was able to back my vehicle almost to my door. The heater/AC and hot water worked well.And George was easy to communicate with, responsive, and offered me a couple local places to eat or to have coffee. He was a helpful friendly guy. And I would stay there again, hopefully much longer next time!

July 2023. This is a review in process. The plusses: location - Barnegat Light. Yes. Off street parking for a few. Room was clean. Small, but clean. Flat screen in the room. Mini fridge (but read on). Small microwave. Beach passes included (as with other area motels). The negatives: mini fridge with two small ice trays not working well. Can't make ice. Won't "freeze" your items. Items in fridge are just above room temp, maybe. No coffee maker. No ice machine. Older motel for sure.Best suited for short term travel of singles or couples with no kids. Bring a cooler - with ice.

Stayed here Thursday thru Sunday. You can't beat the price for mid-week or weekend. It's the best price for any room on the entire island. The rooms are super cozy and comfortable. Locations is amazing. Walk to everything (beach, ice cream, restaurants, bars) Beach badges included and the room even had a mini refrigerator and a freezer. It was great for my family. Rooms are clean and owners are attentive. We arrived early and were able to pick up the beach badges then the owners called us when room was ready so we had an early check-in. We like supporting locally owned business. Would def stay again!

I stayed here for a night with my husband as a get-away from the city. It was a great location with great service. The rooms are simple but clean. Our one complaint was that the bed was pretty soft. Full disclosure, I have back issues so I love a firm mattress. If you don't care about a very soft bed, this place was great!

Great customer service! George and his wife were very responsive to our requests. The place was clean and smelled nice. Good for a short term stay at the beach with a few people or family with 1-2 kids. Rooms are small but have all necessary amenities. It is close to the Bay and you are given beach badges. It has an outdoor shower and porch area for hanging beach towels or sitting out in the evening, etc.We loved our stay here!

Absolutely horrible experience. We booked this hotel as part of a wedding party. We were told check out was 12pm when booking, but ended up getting kicked out at 11am. The room was disgusting. The sheets were stained and not changed, because there was loads of sand in the beds. The door was broken and wouldn’t lock. The rooms are run down and outdated. Bathrooms are gross. For almost $200 for a weeknight, we expected much better quality.

I have a hard time understanding all of the glowing reviews for this motel.On the positive side, the room was clean and the shower worked well.However the room was advertised as having 2 queen sized beds. Not true. They are full-size beds, not queens. In fairness, the room is so tiny that queen beds wouldn't fit. And the mattresses on the beds weren't very comfortable.Parking is inadequate. When we got back to the motel that evening, there was no room in the parking lot. It didn't help that there was a large pickup truck taking up 2 spots. But there was no one in the office to speak to, so I had to park on the street.Our 2-bed room had a divider down the middle with only 1 A/C unit in the room. So the people on the side with the A/C froze while the other sweated. A/C was very loud.Sound proofing seems non-existent as one other reviewer noted, so when the early risers on the second floor got up in the morning you could hear them stomping around.

we have come here with two little ones a number of times. we have stayed in the two suites upstairs and have had a great experience every time. the place is rustic, the wifi spotty, but clean and nicely done. great location, we plan on coming back next summer!

Amazing customer service. I went in March with two friends one of which was vegan. The didn't have a lot of options but the waiter made a significant effort to check with the kitchen and work something out. It was delicious! Overall great experience food and atmosphere but I cannot get over the service!

We stayed in the Bayview suit in early April 2013. It's right at northern end of Long Beach Island next to Barnegat Lighthouse. While it was still early in the season there was still enough open to have an enjoyable visit. The suit had everything we needed from a big living room area witih large screen TV, fully equipped kitchen, and 2 bedrooms. George the manager was very friendly to ensure our visit was good. We will be planning another visit later when the weather is a bit warmer so we can enjoy all LBI has to offer. Here are some pics we took of the hotel.

rooms were small BUT it had everything that I needed from a A/C to TV, shower and a comfy clean room and bed. Very helpful with the area, where to go, to eat, to see, beach pass, etc. On top of that it was right across the street from the CG Station that I wanted to visit.

We just came back from a stay at the White Whale. The only thing I have to warn you about are the overhead footsteps which feellike they are right on your head. Our first night I thought they would never stop.
