Helping to make Barnegat Light and LBI an authentic place nothing else, Kubel's combines island atmosphere with culinary excellence. The toughest thing you encounter coming here is what to order.Also, I must mention that the sunsets cast over Barnegat Bay are iconic.

We had our food trail (Anthony Bourdain’s) in NJ and went to Kubel’s for lunch. Restaurant receptionist is not that welcoming but the waitress is awesome, she went above and beyond to provide us with excellent customer service.We ordered clam chowder, steamed clams and fried clam strips. We already knew what to order but one of them is no longer on the menu (fried clam strips). The waitress offered that they can make it for us and I’m so delighted.It’s a 5/5 for everything that we ordered. Hearty soup, tasty and fresh clams! It’s “clam-azing”!

We arrived just as they opened and they sat our party of 5 swiftly and got us set up with the 2 high chairs we needed. We visited the lighthouse nearby and decided to try this place out. It was amazing, the atmosphere, service and food was to die for. Lobster bisque, lobster rolls, lobster mac n cheese, all perfect! Even the kids meal was delicious. We may have to drive out to LBI more just to eat here!

Nice little place a short trip from the Barnegat lighthouse. We enjoyed the lunch special which was a roast beef sandwich on a garlic roll with choice of cheese and onions and a side of au jus. It was very tasty. My husband enjoyed the chicken wings dry with the sauce on the side which also made a good dip for the fresh made chips. My husband wants to return here the next time we are in the area.

Having never been to Barnegat much less Long Beach Island, I hadn’t a clue where to eat. I picked Kubel’s after a visit to the lighthouse because it was nearby and had good reviews. I’m happy I did. I had a wonderful leisurely late lunch with attentive and friendly service from Kylie. The scallops and grouper tacos were great. The atmosphere is beach town casual. I loved this place.

We came here with very high expectations because Anthony Bourdain is our idol. He had New England Clam Chowder and fried Clams here. We ordered the New England Clam Chowder and it was delicious and it is the best New England Clam Chowder We have ever had so far. The pastrami sandwich and the lobster roll were not impressive at all. The lobster bisque was as plain as water. Take a look the photos of the cup of chowder and the bisque. What restaurant would do this kind of sloppy job? We know this is not a fine dining restaurant but We don’t think anyone would do this at home either. The one dozen half shell clams came with one oyster fork and no lemon and a bowl of clam chowder came with one spoon. When I called the waitress to ask for another oyster fork she told me that the oyster fork is just for separate the clam meat from the shell and two of us have regular forks on the table. Sounds like I am stupid and don’t even know what the oyster fork is for. But she did bring another oyster fork and another spoon. She couldn’t see our empty ice water glasses so I had to ask for adding ice water. There was a guy who led us to our table at the beginning. Since we didn’t see our waitress so we stop him for adding water. also asked lemon for the calm and two plates. He told me that he is not our waiter very loud. Then he grabbed my water glass on top which is not acceptable with health concern. Wow! I was speechless at the moment. Now I know what I should say to him. “ oh, I am so sorry. Are you a customer of the restaurant too? I am sorry that I am asking you for the lemon, water and plates. Please have a seat and let me get you water and plates. “ BTW, the French Fries were super good. I am sorry Anthony Bourdain that I disapproved the restaurant even their New England Clam Chowder and French Fries are very delicious. I am sure that I can find same quality food in another service friendly restaurant. The three stars is only for the clam chowder and the fries.

Extremely popular place, especially with the locals. The menu has something for everyone. Tons of beers on tap, although we were drinking diet soda. For our meals we got the french dip (wow, so tasty and came with the au ju). I chose onion rings on the side and they were so good, love a battered onion ring more than a breaded one. My husband got a turkey club with chips and he said it was delicious, even the next day with leftovers. The staff are friendly, as well as the customers sitting next to you! Dont miss out if you can get it - worth the wait.

Great food and service a a good price for LBI. This is about the 5th time I’ve eaten here in the past several years. Always nice staff and creative menu. No Reservations but I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes. I’ll be coming back! Wish they served Coke. 😇

6/2022: Had a nice lunch at the clean bar. Good service and decent food. I had to check it out b/c Anthony Bourdain has a plaque, behind host stand, and photo on the wall, in the bar area. A local recommended the bar too so why not? Cheers!

Just ate here for lunch for my husband’s birthday and we enjoyed it! We are in the deck and had bay views which was lovely. We got a bowl of New England chowder to share for an app and then the fried scallops (for him) and a crab cake sandwich (for me).All the seafood was great and our waitress Lexi was very friendly and attentive. We had a good meal for what I thought was a good price for the island.The only thing I would recommend is to have a little higher chairs and table for the deck so you could see the bay over the railing. Maybe it’s because we were sitting right next to the railing, but it was in my direct line of sight of the bay. It would have been more enjoyable if I could have actually seen the bay instead of straining my head to look over or under. Minor detail I know, but it was something I noticed.Overall Kubel’s is a great place to eat and a classic of Barnegat Light!

Recommended to come here by a local gentleman we met at the Lighthouse. We were looking for a good burger and found a treasure trove!!! We were greeted by a friendly bartender and served a cold beer quickly. Two regulars shared their favorite...TACOS! We shared 3 large Tacos; one pork, one like roast beef and a fried fish (cod) which had a wonderful mango salsa, spicy sauce and a hint of citrus. All three delicious and very attractive. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake - enough said, just order it! Enough to share too! Fair prices for a wonderful dinner while traveling through. This would be our"go to" if we lived here!!!Parking: Easy, free, convenient.

The food was so delicious I forgot to take pictures. A family night out visiting my brother and he recommended Kubel's and now I know why. This great restaurant located in Barnegat Lights on Long Beach Island was sensational. Great friendly atmosphere, super professional service and spectacular food. The restaurant has a sit down bar which is large and allows patrons to dine at it. It serves a variety of alcohol drinks, cocktails and beer. There is inside and outside dining which accommodates both small and large groups comfortably. We sat outside and the sunset view was amazing. The menu has a delicious variety of entrées that includes seafood, steaks, handheld sandwiches and more. For drinks I had a blue moon beer (on-tap) which was fresh and cold. For starters I had the New England clam chowder which was the best I've had. It was hearty, rich, creamy and full of clams. For my main meal I enjoyed the Mahi which was soft and moist on the inside and seasoned with a sweet and spicy coating on the outside. It was complimented with yellow rice and a delicious tangy sauce. This is a great place to dine with large groups, friends and families if looking to relax on Island.

I had my daughter’s baby shower at Kubel’s and the event was absolutely beautiful. The menu was planned with chef Scott.The chicken francaise was topped with artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes and capers, tortellini with shrimp and vegetables and eggplant rollatini. Everything was hot, delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server Christine was wonderful setting up the tables and helping with our decorations. A big Thank you to Scott, Christine and all of Kubel’s staff!

Great family friendly authentic seafood restaurant in the northern part of Long Beach Island. Portions are generous and service is great. I had the fried clam strips and they were awesome! Excellent selections on the menu. There is a cozy bar serving favorite brews to sailors and landlovers alike!
