The livestock is great. I've only had one batch of corals from them but we're pest free and doing well almost a year later. Parking is not the most convenient and tight aisles indicative of the vast majority of aquarium places but worth it. Staff (or manager/owner?) was extremely patient with me as I could spend an hour easily looking at everything and wanted advice and names for all of the corals I was looking at. Can't wait to go back.

This place is one of the best aquarium stores in the area. They have a lot of fish varieties and live corals. The service is absolutely amazing. Will, the owner is very nice guy and he would offer his help and advice if needed.We had a lot of troubles with our new fish tank but Will was able to assist and walk us through having a beautiful tank with a group of beautiful goldfish :)

Place is super cool, Water is immaculate , they have some super rare fish, and very fair prices, Ill be back for sure. The owner is friendly and knowlegable

Selection was nice. Visited this store just to see what they had and the customer service was horrible. My wife and I stood there looking at a tank as an associate was inches away from us feeding the fish. At least acknowledge your customers! I simply asked him a question and he didn't even make eye contact. As he answered, he continued on not asking if I needed help. We walked right out. I'd expect that from petsmart or a big chain store, definitely not from a store that should appreciate walk-ins to potentially gain a lifelong customer who spends hundreds on a hobby.

great place with an amazing saltwater selection. Ive purchased several saltwater fish from here and never had an issue. Will is very knowledgeable and has been really honest about the fish he has sold. He has always been amazing and is a real talker if you ask questions. I like that i can enter and watch the fish as i please and dont have anyone breathing down my back. He lets you observe and enjoy the fish. If you have any questions just ask and you will be amazed by the wealth of information he can provide you with. Dont be too quick to judge

Great Aquarium with a beautiful selection of both saltwater and freshwater fish. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and some of the tanks there are absolute beauties. I picked up some equipment for my tank. Five out of Five but i wish that there was a little bit more fish but other than that great shop

Has a good selection of fresh and saltwater fish. I picked up a cool plecco here as well as some cool fresh water shrimp. Already had a shrimp molt. The water quality in the tanks here are on point. 3 days out and all the stuff I bought from here is thriving. Pet smart down the road always has bad water chemistry. If you're smart you'll come here instead.

Nice little aquatic store. The fish look healthy and well cared for versus the big brand stores that tend to have ick and other issues. They stock some hardwood for aquascaping which I liked since I wouldn't trust buying online both because you want to see the pieces and know it's aquarium safe. If you don't see something, ask. The store didn't stock the color/brand of substrate I wanted and they were happy to order it in for me. It came quickly and I'm looking forward to setting up my new tank. The store has some stunning big Bettas as well. I have a soft spot for Betta sinces the live sad lives shoved in a tiny cup. The store has them in a nice bowl with with gravel and a plant, so you'd likely be getting a much healthier Betta for your home.

Will was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when i went into purchase my tank set up. The fish are VERY well cared for and the tanks are spotless. I was very impressed with the quality of the fish he had in store. Definitely my go to guy for fish

This place has a very nice variety of salt and fresh water fish but the customer service is horrible. The person working there was right in front talking to someone unrelated to fish when my BF and I walked in and he never acknowledged us. We said hello first... we were looking at fish, walked to the back and he never came to ask us if we needed help or anything. I wanted to buy fish but felt very uncomfortable and we decided to just leave. It was very bizarre. You would think that they would want to acknowledge and be a little friendly to their customers since its potential money walking in your place of business. I would never go back there and I live only a few minutes away. The staff at Fish Hut is so much more helpful and friendlier and I would rather drive the 30 minutes or so there. I also go to PetSmart all of the time and they are always helpful to their customers too.

I have been going to this establishment for about a year. The owner Will never try’s to push unneeded products on you and give expert advise. The corals and marine fish are healthy and priced right. I’ve purchased many livestock and corals from him over a year and all always did well. I would and have recommended this store to many.

I have been in the hobby on and off for about a decade and have been to lots of fish stores all over the eastern seaboard. This store is by far the best kept - all livestock looks healthy and the selection is excellent.I can't relate to comments about the owner being curt, both of them were ready to help when we needed them and definitely knew what they were doing. I personally value that so much more than the common trend I see everywhere today - a super nice sales/support rep, who is totally incompetent yet will patronize you to no end yet never solve anything.

This is my favorite fish store to go to because of the quality of their supplies, coral and fish and also due to the dedication of the staff. The owner is always willing to help with your tank questions and only stocks products he would personally trust and use. If you have a fish tank then you know the quality of an item is important for the lives in your tank.

Will is an awesome guy. He's super knowledgeable and knows where every fish in his store comes from. I love that he writes the date of when the fish came in on the tanks. This practice combined with Will's advice allows customers to make informed decisions about the fish they're purchasing. His prices are always fair and he has a great variety of common fish and fish you might not see at other stores.

Well maintained small fish shop. Very knowledgeable and friendly proprietor. Most importantly the fish were healthy and the tanks were clean. This place is mostly marine fish and corals but I was there for some freshwater items which made his selection and service impressive. I've been in the hobby over 50 years and would highly recommend this establishment.

I've been here 3x in the past week. Will has been nothing but good to me despite what all other reviews say of him. Im new to the hobby and he has been a great help as far as helping me pick the right fish...picking his brain for knowledge and helping me today with exchanging a strong Alpha fish that i bought for another. I walked in to his place with 1 fish and walked out with 2. They have my business. Oh...and the lady there was exceptional as well. Greet customer service and a blast to shoot the breeze.

I focus on freshwater aquaria. They have a solid selection including some species I have never seen elsewhere and larger sizes of common ones that are hard to find. The prices are moderate. The tanks are impeccably clean. The owner is curt but very knowledgeable. I inquired about a type of catfish and he said he chooses not to stock them but did not offer to get them for me. The woman I’ve spoken with there knows her stuff also and is more friendly. I would buy there again.

Stopped in today just to get an idea of what they carry, have a new tank that still needs to cycle, so I wasn't ready to buy. Not a huge selection of freshwater, but they had both Cory catfish and both Rasboras that I was curious about. Gorgeous saltwater fish and tanks. I didn't talk to anyone since someone else was parked up front chatting away, but I did get a friendly nod of acknowledgement both upon entering and exiting. I'll definitely be back when I'm ready to purchase.

Went to the shop yesterday (14th November 2021). The owner doesn't bother to show up with repeated calls. Price on the fishes are double than other place. I was looking for Black Moor fish which was costing $19.99 where the same I purchased for $9.99. visit The Fish Hut of New Jersey, and compare the price and verity yourself.

Fish and coral are great - with tanks kept super clean. Prices are a little high but nothing too crazy. What grants this store 2 stars is the horrible customer service. I've only ever seen one guy working here, and he'll choose to talk to his friends that come in and sit on the couch (why there is a couch in a fish store to begin with is beyond me) rather than help the customers that are standing around waiting for assistance. Better workers and CS would make this place 10x better!

Don't know where these 5 star reviews come from but other than some of the saltwater fish, the selection is terrible. Customer service is beyond awful, way beyond.

Very impressed! I had a great experience there and would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone that is into the hobby. If you don't see something you want in the store he will gladly order it for you with quick arrivals. To sum it up, he has a healthy stock and a great selection definitely one of the best in the state in my opinion

I'll give them two stars since they did have a good selection of fish and they all were healthy. But I do agree with the other reviews that the owner is not the friendliest and make it seems like your bothering him when you ask for help. I was also given wrong information which I believe was just to make a sale on they're end which is kind of messed up.

Staff not helpful and fish are 20% higher than other shops( wouldnt mind the prices cause they do have a good selection) but they treated me like i was a nag and was pompous. Only will go in emergencies as last resort. too many good and caring Mom and pop fishstores stores in NJ that deserve our patronage. I recommend going to Aquarium roots in bound brook instead. Or your nearest Petco

One star because of the selection of fish they have. Beautiful exotic looking saltwater fishes, and only a few freshwater tanks. The customer service is just the worst!!! Don’t expect to even get a hello, and when you ask questions it’s like you’re bothering them. Idk how someone can run a business like this. Honestly I rather go to petco, pet smart, anywhere but here! This place sold me a sick fish with parasites and all, and when I wanted to return only 2 days later I was rejected.

Nice selection of fish, and tanks are very clean. However, the owner needs improvement on politeness and courtesy. He didn't acknowledge our presence until I walked up to him for assistance.
