Magic Monday! Place was jamming but they have a great system that keeps the line moving. Order was taken with ease and patience and served with pride. The PB pie was great. Lastly, very generous sized waffle cones!

This place is amazing! The ice cream and waffle cones are so delicious. I do recommend getting a smaller size since the portions are so huge though. The attached picture is the “kiddie size”. They are super kind and quick there too!

Yes the prices are steep, but you are in Avalon NJ and they have a great product.TIP - don't fall for ordering a "small" consisting of two scoops. It's a pile of ice cream. They conveniently hide a one scoop "kiddie" option at the bottom of the menu board.

The icecream was good and so was the portions but the girls running the store were being loud and unprofessional all the tables were dirty and they were just hiding in the back eating something hints there blue lips. It was a rainy day so there was practically no one in the store it couldn’t kill them to clean a table or two. Also considering the fact that one of them was waiting on their father to bring the crew Starbucks they had the time to clean.

Great ice cream, so many flavors. I had brownie sundae. Huge it was. Others ordered a small and it was gigantic, maybe consider kiddie size.

I will keep coming back, because the ice cream is absolutely delicious. But it doesn't matter if there is a line out the door or 2 people in the joint, it takes forever to get your order. I don't know if its because the serving sizes are so big, these poor kids are killing themselves to scoop it all, or they just don't care (probably a bit a both), either way you're waiting. Even if they made the serving sizes smaller and charged the same amount, I would be just as happy because I'd get it sooner and maybe the kids working would be a little more pleasant.

Very generous portions of their many flavors and toppings. The staff really do a great job of keeping the line moving. During the summer months, they have weekly live entertainment: live magic show for young children (and those young at heart), and another evening is music- piano man sings and takes requests. Buccaneers is cash only. ATM on prem. Can you handle The Shipwreck??

The portions are quite generous compared to your typical ice cream shop. I highly recommend Coconut Almond Joy in a plain waffle cone; pure bliss!

The buccaneer is the movie theater of ice cream parlors. By this I mean that a movie theater will often charge something like $5 for a soda, and attempt to make the customer feel better about that by making it a ridiculously massive soda. In reality it doesn't cost the theater much more to give you a massive soda than a normal soda (the cost of soda is miniscule), but it makes the customer feel better about how expensive it is. The buccaneer is pricey, but they give you a lot of ice cream (enough to shock just about everyone I see come in). So a good tip might be to order a size down from what you're used to. A junior is equivalent to a normal small, a small is equivalent to a normal medium - large depending on how big the scoops are, and a large is too big for your average person. That being said, the ice cream is pretty good, and they have a very robust flavor selection. They also have live entertainment a few nights a week primarily for kids. All in all it's probably one of the best choices for ice cream in Avalon/stone harbor if you don't want to wait out the long line at Springer's. (Also it was cash only the last time I went in, they had an ATM there: $1.50 fee I believe)

My family has been here countless times and really enjoy the ice cream. Unfortunately, the staff time and time again has been completely inept. We think it’s wonderful that they employ local young people, but they are unorganized, slow, and get orders wrong. Worse of all, I had a friend visiting who is allergic to nuts and dairy. He asked if they had a nut and dairy free option, to which the the server said they did. After paying and waiting, my friend got his ice cream, and but for the scooper saying “dairy free almond” he almost ate a something that would have required an immediate visit to the hospital. Upon questioning the scooper if it was almonds, she said “I don’t know I think it’s good.” Overall I’m disappointed in the service, the disregard for safety, and general lack of organization.

What I love about this place is how accommodating they are about toppings! If you want extra toppings, they can do that. If you want the entire dish do be buried in a mountain of toppings, they'll do that! Just picture a small Mount Everest of gummy worms. The ice cream is delicious, the fudge is delicious, the setup is efficient, they have all sorts of various ice cream products! Milkshakes, malts, you name it! They have great entertainment for the kids three times a week, and once again, SUPER accommodating with toppings. The selection of toppings changes often, but count yourself lucky if you wander in when they have Nerds!

The service is good, it's always busy when I stop ( evening). The wait is short though. The serving size is large. Two scoops is much larger than you think it would, so take it into consideration. I like the selection, plenty to choose from.

weird names, yelling shipwreck every 5 minutes, charging 34 dollars for one ice cream. I must say, The bowl they give is very nice. I took the bowl back to my house and put it on a shelf👍🏻

An Avalon classic. They make their ice cream and they have some fun flavors. At least once a summer I get the Dusty Roads sundae and flirt with the precipitous spike in my blood sugar, but hey, it is worth it.

I waited over 40 minutes for a small water ice and left without it (already paid) because the end of the wait seemed nowhere in sight. The sidewalks were so jammed that I couldn't even get through to go to a better dessert place and had to walk in the street. I won't be back, and have no idea why there were so many customers there when there are so many better options in Avalon.
