This morning I met with some of my peeps for a cup of coffee at Brown Dog Cafe in Audubon. What a great place! I have been there before and pick this place because they have a lot of space both inside and outside. They have made a lot of changes since my last visit. They now serve Kismet Bagels, which I think are the best bagels I’ve ever tasted in my life (no joke), and carry Elixr Coffee which is pretty good, too. They still have a great assortment of other mouthwatering baked goods. The staff is always nice and accommodating. Definitely going back! I suggest you try it if you haven’t already.

Some of the best baked goods in our area. You must try the homemade pop tarts for 90s nostalgia, the almost croissant and they have the most phenomenal and moist crumb cake I’ve ever had, which usually isn’t something I’d be drawn to.Their coffee is high quality and their specialty drinks have some awesome and unique flavors, like cookie butter & the seasonal pumpkin cookie dough. If you’re looking for a meal, I recommend the breakfast sandwiches that are toasted with homemade truffle butter. A unique twist on a classic that is made right every time.

Spacious, cute cafe serving coffee and breakfast / lunch menu - indoor outdoor seating and wifi.I had the iced tea and the chicken salad sandwich - both were great. They're currently doing a fundraiser for the local small business group - the T's are pretty nice!Vegetarian options: YesParking: On Street parking directly out frontKid-friendliness: It seems they may rent discs for the local disc golf course... Check out the window pictures.Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk grade accessible (so no steep ramp)

The Brown Dog is a quaint little cafe’ located in an adorable section of Audubon where I felt that the shops were trying to maintain an aesthetic appeal to the tiny section of the neighborhood. The cafe’ had a nice decor and was spacious. I liked how it was dog friendly, even having a doggy bowl for water and some biscuits in a jar (they were out of biscuits when I visited but I didn’t bring my dog anyhow). The service was friendly, considerate, and fast and when my toddler dropped her danish the girl behind the counter was nice enough to give us a free replacement rather than charging us for another one. It’s a cute spot with a quiet vibe. It’s worth checking out sometime!

Don't be surprised if the line is out the door for this hidden gem. Food, coffee, atmosphere are a dream weekend get away or a great weekday outing. All food is made to order and all cafe beverages are made with care. Order yourself a brew and relax for a little espace.

Lovely little place with some excellent and unusual drink options like PB&J Latte and London Fog. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Atmosphere was pleasant but we sat outside for a less noisy, adult experience. They have a few non-dairy milks but wish they had more vegan food options. Will be back again to try the crumb coffee cake!Kid-friendliness: Lots of happy little kids running around. Some of them less loud than others :-)

Everyone was very kind, the coffee is delicious (had an El Salvador pour over), and the ambiance is very inviting. Spent time reading a book and found it so pleasant. Will be back!

This cafe is literally my favorite place. The vibes are so chill, the staff are so kind, the prices are fantastic and the drinks are amazing. I forgot to order oat milk today which would've been a disaster for me all day and even though I've only been here a few times the staff remembered and went out of there way to clarify oat milk. This place is wonderful.

The Brown Dog Cafe is a locally owned and operated coffee house on downtown Audubon. It is a fantastic addition to main St. Audubon. It is a great place to connect with friends and family, have an intimate business meeting or relax with a hot cup of coffee and a book. Small town Audubon would not be the same without the Brown Dog Cafe

First time customer here. Although the atmosphere is nice I was disappointed in the food and service.Chicken salad on multi grain bread… chicken salad was extremely dry and the bread was beyond stale. The coffee was good but the service was less than friendly. Not nasty but it felt like our barista just didn’t want to be there. There’s many more cafes and coffee shops around that I doubt I’ll be back.

Spacious and nicely decorated cafe! I went here to get some schoolwork done and it was just a great atmosphere. The latte was great and the different syrups for the drinks they have there are really cool. Both guys working there were very friendly and helpful too!

Service here is extremely inconsistent which it should not be for the the price. There is an apparent A and B team of employees. A being who the ones who do a good job. B being those who don’t seem to know how to make drinks. When the owners are present service usually moves along at an okay pace with the drinks you ask for coming out great. When they are not there the quality of drinks and pace of service decreases drastically. Makes me wish there was another option for Coffee within walking distance in Audubon. Breakfast sandwiches are consistently good.

Great local coffee joint and also a standard in our house for whenever we need to go somewhere to get work done. Cafe is always lively with people in and out and has great big tables where you can spread out or share with others. Great coffee selection from owners (who are super friendly and involved in the neighborhood) and decent food spread as well.

Absolutely awesome local owners... great coffee... good selection of drinks, food, or snacks. They are always adding something new or experimenting with flavors. The shop has an open and welcoming layout, whether you are doing a quick hit and run or sitting down to enjoy some caffeine while getting some work done.

The aesthetic is perfect. Food is amazing ( recommend bfast sandwich on a croissant with bacon, egg & cheese + truffle butter). My self cannot drink coffee but they have other options such as turmeric latte which I get every time. Employees and owners are very kind & personable :)Always leave there happy

Friendly service that take the time to make suggestions if you don't know what you're in the mood for. Everything is fresh not shelf stale. Coffee is artisan. Friendly service that take the time to make suggestions if you don't know what you're in the mood for. Everything is fresh not shelf stale. They opened in 2020. What a struggle that must have been. I wish them great success. This is from a interview of one of their regulars Nicky G.

This was the first time I had a pour over coffee and it was absolutely delicious. Very smooth, not bitter at all. However, the barista made the coffee and then completely forgot about it. She walked away and my friend and I just stood there waiting for what seemed liked forever. When we asked the other barista about it (since the original one had left the area and we could clearly see that the coffee had been done for a while), she was apologetic about it but still, it was odd that we had to actually ask what happened to our coffee in a coffee shop! I also thought the price of $6 for a piece of coffee cake was a bit steep. But I would definitely order the pour over again. That was really good - even if it had cooled off a bit by the time we got it.

My husband and i thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The cafe is located in the heart of Audubon, surrounded by other adorable mom and pop stores. They have outdoor seating , which I typically go for, but it was busy and they were all taken.we headed in, and their menu is just the right size- not too overwhelming, but just enough for options. I got the avocado toast with egg(they used a chili oil or something which was chef kisses!) , a cheese danish and a iced chai tea latte. My husband got the breakfast Sammie on a bagel with cold brew.Inside is very large, open and has lots of seating. This is such a cute place and we’ve already said we will be back. Anddd lastly, the danish I had was AH-mazing!
