Finally went here this morning! I got a classic PEC sandwich. The sandwich was excellent! The ladies at the counter were super friendly and I loved just looking around the store at all of the curiosities. I love old school general stores that have funky and fun stuff save this was no exception. The have old time candies and a few relatively uncommon drinks available.Anyway it's a great place and worth checking out if you're in the area or even a little outside of it. ❤️

Love this place, great food, fun atmosphere, friendly associates. It has a lot of character, you won’t find another one like it around here. They have great breakfast options, salads and sandwiches. They also have gluten free and vegan options.

Love the pork roll breakfast. The great staff an wonderful service. They have a lot of old snacks and candies to share with the family. The entire store has curiosities and antiques to see and are for sale. With a selection for everyone here, it's a definite place to go when in NJ or nearby. Will return for years to come.

Good local breakfast food and atmosphere. But it always amazes me how people are constantly jumping the line and getting orders in - nothing is ever done about it 🤷♀️

I am never disappointed with the food at Allenwood General Store! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the owners are very involved and care about the quality of food. Best food in Monmouth County!

Older lady who works the grill took my order and she's always so nice. I think the food is pretty good. Kind of pricey, but good portions and served pretty quick. The line gets long with the weekday lunch crowd, so try and hit it by 11:45.

Jeff Herbert, the proprietor, is the best! We love the cold brewed coffee, carefully made with Iceland spring water with a pH of 8.88! The gluten free pancakes with McCay Organic Blueberries from Chatsworth, NJ are fantastic! The maple syrup from Wilson's in PA is extraordinary! You can have a meal and purchase all the food supplies in his fully stocked fridge and shelves. What a wonderful place; hidden in our quaint little town of Allenwood! Just next to the bike path; where you can meet all your neighbors and explore all the antiques for sale. Such a unique New Jersey must visit location!!!

I love this place! It's such a different, pleasant experience. If you eat in you sit in the middle of an antique shop! Usually get pork roll, egg and cheeses sandwich which is very good! They have a variety of breakfast food and deli sandwiches.

Best kept secret in Monmouth County. Do that pork roll! On the bike path where you get the best people watching around. Busy in summer and weekends where Jeff the owner is always around. Always super friendly and big community supporter to boot. We all could really use more of that Allenwood General Store frame of mind.

Awesome little place. Great food and very unique all around. If you eat in house you sit among the antique shop that is also attached. The owner Jeff is very hospitable and helpful. Look forward to going back.

Great place to eat. Stopped for a quick bite. Was nicely greeted, and was served quickly. If you're in the area, and crave a small town feel. This is the place for you. Young lady who served me. Made an awesome sandwich.

The whole experience was very unwelcoming and unenjoyable. Waited in line for them to take someone behind us.The lady that was helping us had a crazy attitude. Was very rude to us. My mother was speaking to her and she was giving her attitude and being rude and short because my mom had a soft voice and she couldnt hear her properly. Overheard her say she was "untouchable" that doesnt give you a right to treat your customers like garbage for no reason. The store was beautiful but the workers are miserable. One of the ladies rolled her eyes and got frustrated because she didn't hear us when they called for our name for our food. She was visibly frustrated with us that she had to walk in to the other room to search for us when she didn't hear us say it was ours. The whole experience was miserable. Don't work in customer service if you can't be approachable or nice. The food wasn't even good. Not worth it. 10/10 do not recommend.

So... finally got here, after years of hearing about it. And yes, the pork roll is as great as they say! This location is a bit out of the way, and you really have to want to come here, as it's not near the major roadways. I parked and went in, and the food counter is just to your right. The staff were friendly and patient as I checked out the big menu. And when we ordered, we got the food fairly fast. The interior is old-fashioned, but in a legit way. It's truly a combination of food place and antique shop, and the walls and displays are filled with cool and sometimes funky items. We sat down in the center room and marvelled at all that surrounded us. The pork roll I ordered was great, and I was very happy I got the standard: pork roll with cheese and ketchup on a roll, with a bit of black pepper. It was amazing, and the roll was nice and fresh. If you want some great morning food, and to dine in a Cracker Barrel vibe, except that it's real, this is the place to go!

So cute! It's a combination general store, antique store, deli, restaurant... So much fun!I thoroughly enjoyed looking through their collection of nick nacks and collectibles, while taking a break from the road.I didn't order food, but they had the grill rocking! They were pushing out orders of food quickly and it looked good. Though I don't eat it, they proudly serve pork roll and had a grill full ready to go... I recommend checking it out! Enjoy!

This place looks really cute and has a nice menu, but we walked in at 3:15 on a Saturday afternoon and they told us we could only get cold sandwiches because the fryer and grill were already off. The place is open until 4pm but they turn off the grill and fryer more than 45 minutes before closing time? We left.

Great place! Unique, old school, family friendly atmosphere! The antiques and signs around the store are something else to just look at while you eat. Been going here for many, many years and will for many more! Still has one of the best pork roll, egg and cheese sandwiches on a hard roll around! Many items to choose from on the menu for breakfast and lunch. Local family business that has that local charm... and it delivers what the 'out of towners' need to make them feel at home. If you haven't been... GO! The candy selection itself is some fun old school candy that will have you reminiscing about the good old days.

Great sandwiches. Quaint setting. Right off the bike trail if that's your thing. Stars lost for the teenage girl working the register who brings unwarranted sassy attitude (every time we have been there). Looking at the reviews, sounds like many others have had a similar experience with her. She's driving locals (at least this one) away. Not sure I'll be taking the 5 minute drive from home to visit anymore. Plan to spread the word amongst my Wall friends as well. Time for new blood Allenwood!

Don't know how I have never left a review. We love AGS! I've been coming here since I was a kid when we used to ride the bike path from Manasquan. Now it's a family tradition with my kids. Everything about this place is awesome; the food, the atmosphere, the staff, and the "junk" for sale. You won't find any place like it.

A well known Monmouth County hidden gem. Cozy dining in a country store. Great breakfast and lunch. Great place to get a traditional NJ pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich or a great grilled burger. Browse the antiques and knick knacks. Family own and run for years. Quiet, off the beaten path location.
