Been here a few times and had to wait much longer than my scheduled appointment. Then they bring you into the holding cell before the vet comes in and the room is always very warm. The place itself could definitely use a good cleaning too.

Super easy to deal with very professional. My dog isn't exactly friendly with other dogs and they made the whole process simple and seamless. Very professional and friendly staff took great care of my OX and didn't even bat an eye at holding onto an 80lb pit bull during the appointment (he's a big softy but some people just put one breed in a bad light) they treated him like he was any other dog it was a bit of a drive for me but the only place that could get him in the day I called and I'll gladly take the drive again

We took Our old English bulldog to see Dr. Capodanno. He was so professional and so kind. Our dog has skin issues and an ear infection. He gave us options and a perfect treatment plan. Today is the second day on his meds and We already see an improvement. Thank you so much Dr. Capodanno ! Office staff is wonderful so pleasant. My dog was so comfortable at his exam. We are so happy with them . We highly recommend them to you.

I've been going to Allenwood Animal Hospital a little over a year with my four dogs, 3 of them seniors who have serious health issues and need frequent monitoring. (Wesley 15 years old, Olivia 13 years, Bree 5 years and Brandy who would have been 15 years old and recently passed away). Dr. Murillo and Dr. LaPaglia took over with their health care without hesitation. Olivia has severe liver disease and sludge in her gallbladder and Wesley has kidney disease. Bree had her yearly dental and when I picked her up, Bree looked and smelled like she just came out of the grooming salon and they even blow-dried her hair! She was so well taken care of!Dr. Murillo and Dr. LaPaglia are so compassionate, knowledgeable and honest. Everyone at the front desk Amanda, Melissa, Jessica and Tracey have all been so welcoming and kind. All of the Veterinary Technicians/Assistants are truly wonderful and caring. They have also been so helpful in administering subcutaneous fluids to my dogs.I will always be thankful to everyone at Allenwood for all your kindness when Brandy passed away. You knew how very special Brandy was to me and how much she was cared for and loved. I miss Brandy so much and she holds a special place in my heart.I have been to Allenwood Animal Hospital numerous times over the year and can attest to the excellent care Dr. Murillo, Dr. LaPaglia and the staff have provided for my four dogs.

Dr. Day and the staff are wonderful!! My cat 7 doesn't kind coming to the vet to see his friends. The techs are so nice and helpful, and knowledgeable as well. Seven had bad allergies when I got him and the team worked with me to figure it out. The also offer great in-house plans to ensure your pets needs are affordable! Thanks Allen wood, Dr. Day, Jess, Celina, Evan, Gina and Jackie for taking such great care of our boy!

Avoid like the plague. First off this place is owned by the Mars company. They are literally selling your data from the second you give them information. I wasn't even in the vet office 10 minutes and my phone is getting spammed with texts and emails about pet insurance. Then after the most wishy washy diagnosis I ever received, they were upselling and charging me for everything. My pet was given and ear wash and the doctor said a tech would come back to make sure we were cleaning the ears without hurting him. $30 charge to wipe his ear with a guaze pad. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else that won't double the price of everything on top of nickel and diming everywhere they can.

We cannot thank Dr. LaPaglia and his assistant Gina enough for the kindness you showed our Maggie, who is a large Shepherd/Lab mix. She was ill and terrified but Dr. LaPaglia has such a calming demeanor and was so gentle with her that we could see her relax under his care. Here is a doctor who truly loves animals and we wouldn’t bring our fur baby anywhere else. We are happy to report that under Dr. LaPaglia’s guidance and knowledge our Maggie is on the mend.

The front desk is always very friendly and helpful. The doctors are kind and knowledgeable about the needs of your pets. We've been patients with Allenwood hospital for many years and we have recommended them to our friends and family!I had to add to this review as Dr. LaPaglia was exceptional at trying to help us find solutions to help our dog Finley in his late stages of life. He offered a variety of solutions to try and help us lengthen and better our aging dog to the best of his ability. His compassion made hearing bad news a little easier and he always took his time to talk everything out with us. Finley is no longer with us but we are very grateful to Dr. L & all of the staff at Allen Wood animal hospital. We had moved further away and could have found another vet but instead we drove 35 minutes to Allenwood due to the care we always received. The front desk staff was also always helpful. We found a babysitter through them when we had to go on vacation and we had peace of mind knowing Finley was in good hands through a recommendation of theirs. Thank you for always taking care of our boy.

This team of doctors, techs, and front staff are absolutely INCREDIBLE! Allenwood has been our vet for the past five years or so for our golden retriever Noah. Dr LaPaglia is one of the BEST veterinarians we have experienced and he has helped us transition from the adult years into our sweet boy's "senior" years. Noah is now a whopping 12 years old with lots of help from Dr. L.! We've had many health "ups and downs" which comes with the territory of getting older and pre-existing conditions but Dr. L. has helped Noah in every way possible to get him to where he is today. Also, the staff here have wonderful bedside manner! They are all so warm, compassionate, and understanding whether it be on the phone, email, or in person. My husband and I always find ourselves recommending Allenwood to everyone! Thanks so much for everything guys!

I called for an appointment for my bird. There was a doctor that treats birds. Very nice doctor. The tec was sweet as well. It was a good experience. The doctor and tec went out of their way to treat my bird with respect. I feel that the visit was reasonably priced.

I've taken my dogs here for years. Last year our lab boxer mix was diagnosed with adrenal Cushing's disease after an already difficult year with multiple health issues, many tests, and a surgery. It's typically an expensive condition to treat because of the medication and a lot of necessary repeat blood work follow up. Due to the cost, it just wasn't possible. Thankfully Dr. Lapaglia presented us with an alternative Chinese herbal treatment plan to consider. We had nothing to lose by trying. Our 13 year old dog is still with us, and most importantly- still enjoying his life. Had it not been for Dr. Lapaglia's training in this medicine, we would have never known it was an option. Furthermore, because we opted into being care club members, we pay one monthly fee for all of our dog's preventative care. Our dog is frequently at Allenwood Animal hospital because Cushing's causes a susceptibility to infection, and I don't pay for his exams. We are saving money and we still have our best friend. The entire staff treat us and him like family and we couldn't be more grateful for all of it. Highly recommend, especially for Dr. Lapaglia's extensive knowledge in both western and eastern medicines. I can't thank them enough.

Called them early on New Years Eve morning to request an appointment for our dog who was sick and our normal veterinarian was completely booked. Left a message as they weren’t open yet and received a call back promptly; they were able to schedule us in later that morning. Was greater by a super friendly staff that was compassionate, caring, understanding and knowledgeable. The staff and doctors took great care with our dog and explained their findings and discussed treatments. They had all the medications there as well as a little store for pet food and supplies. We are so grateful to the staff Allenwood Animal Hospital for the care that they gave Marvin. We will be using them moving forward as our veterinarian! Thank you again AAH!!

My Honey had to have a minor surgery to remove a lump on her inner ear and two small ones on her hind quarters. They assured me she would be ok and she was ! Dr Capodano called immediately and updated me on her status and also during recovery checked her out and advised treatment! I’m a helicopter dogmom and they understood my anxiety!;) everyone is professional and treats my honey like their own.

I called for a wellness visit for my dog in the beginning of Jan, was told nothing was available until end of Feb. I was fine with this as it was just for wellness. I got a call 5 days before my appointment that they need to reschedule, I understand things happen. No availability until the end of March now. I understand the vet world is overwhelmed right now, but it makes more sense to me to seek veterinary care from a facility that has better availability.

Today my family and I had our first experience at Allenwood Animal Hospital and we have nothing but positive things to say. Our dog stopped breathing in our home and was really suffering. We called the office in a panicked state and they took us in right away. They were outside waiting with a gurney when we arrived, and were so compassionate throughout the whole process. Due to COVID-19, we were not allowed to go into the office with our dog, but every staff member came out multiple times with updates, suggestions and to check if we were okay. We had to make the very difficult decision to put our 11 year old dog to rest, and the staff worked hard to make a horrible experience manageable. Prior to today we were not patients at this office. They didn’t know us, or our dog. But from the beginning to my dog’s last breath, they acted as if our loss was their loss. I wish I got the names of all of the phenomenal vets and techs that helped us, but my family thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts. We have another animal at home and will be using them in the future as our regular vet. Thank you a million times!

We brought our pug to Allenwood and she had to be put down a few years ago. The doctors and staff were very supportive. Now we have a new puppy and we brought her there a few weeks ago for her initial visit. It was a very positive experience. Staff and vet were very patient with my daughter's questions and I did not feel rushed at all. Everyone was super friendly.

I took my dogs to Allenwood for over 15 years. My sister took her dog, I encouraged my brother to take his dog and he did. It wasn't't until I left (due to moving) that I realized how much I was being overcharged. A normal bill for about $200 on a routine exam and shots. When I asked for them to cut his nails they charged me $30. Every other animal vet does it at a courtesy or $15 which is normal. I moved but am still in Monmouth County. I bring my dog in regularly for visits. I love my new vet hospital and they don't take advantage.

Been going for years, when they arent busy the day to day stuff for our dogs was fine. However, they are now busy due to so many people adopting pets and no longer act like they care about your pet. Last year they prescribed flea and tick for my dog that made her very sick. When I called for help they told me to try the company that made the flea and tick medicine to see if they could help - unf***ing believable. Got new puppy recently and needed to test poop for worms or Giardia and they said they typically cant do that without seeing the puppy and could see the puppy in a month….again, unf###ing believable. Im happy for the owner have more customers than they need, feel bad for the pets. Adios Lakewood.

My dog was feeling sick. I called and they got me in right away, took care of her and gave her the meds she needed to feel better. Such a nice staff and doctors who know what they are doing and how to give you options without pushing anything. Great experience every single time I go there.
