While I have had quick service and pricing is competitive I was very disappointed with my recent delivery . I have always tipped with my online purchases . This one particular time I didn’t .. you’d think they would “ understand” maybe the customer didn’t have it at the time or an over sight and leave it at that ..delivery always leaves the items at door .. this time the delivery person ringing the bell, banging on the door etc . I opened it thinking what’s the problem ? Delivery man asking numerous times for a tip!! Told him sorry .. no .. he didn’t seem to understand English .. ( but knows money) A tip is a gesture .. it’s not a DEMAND .. please have your delivery person understand that! I had planned on giving a bigger tip next time but am not even contemplating ordering again from your store I d rather pay a little more elsewhere than deal with an individual like that ..😣

Amazing store, I was looking for a hard to find bourbon for a retirement gift and was able to buy it here. I called to check if they had it in stock and they checked for me before I made the hour drive. Appreciate their help and how kind they were once I arrived.

Terrible Customer Service - Do Not Patronize.I purchased a bottle of alcohol from the Allendale Wine Shoppe.I had an unfortunate accident and the bottle broke. The cap was never open, its seal never cracked. When I asked to exchange the bottle with the owner of Allendale Wine I was told he would not exchange it, not even with the receipt. Now you may say, "You broke it, you bought it!" but you may not know the following. Liquor stores received their shipments of wine and spirits from local distributors. During shipments, bottles are broken in transit all the time. The distributor will issue credits to stores as long as the seal on the cap is not broken, which I proved to the Allendale Wine shoppe.I can attest to the issuing of credits by distributors because I spent many of my younger years working in a family-owned Liquor and Deli. When I was in the business, customer service was a priority. We always exchanged a broken bottle for a new bottle as long as the cap seal was intact. As the retailer, we knew we would receive credit along with the credits from those bottles broken in transit.When I questioned the owner on this point, I was rudely told "We don't receive credits from distributors!". I asked who the distributor was for my bottle. The response was "American B&D" out of Glen Rock. I called American B&D to see if issuing credits for broken bottles was still practiced. Their response was, "We issue credits all the time!!". The owner lied to me.I called two other liquor stores in the area. I wanted to see if they would have had the same response as the Allendale Wine Shoppe in this situation. Both would have issued a new bottle to keep in good faith with the customer and put in for the credit with the distributor.Having grown up in retail, I always tried to patronize the smaller shops but this one local retailer that is officially off my list.Please shop at a more reputable store for your spirits and avoid the Allendale Wine Shop.

I ordered through Uber Eats. They called me and told me that could not process the payment through Uber, that I would have to provide my credit card information, and cancel the Uber Eats order. I had never patronized this establishment before, and was unwilling to provide my credit card information over the phone. They cancelled my order, but I was still charged. I called the store and explained the situation, but was told Uber charged me, not them. Uber did not issue me a refund. This was their error, not mine. I will never patronize this business again.

I normally don't leave reviews, but my experience with Allendale Wine Shoppe required it! Great selection, great pricing, fast shipping and excellent packing, what's not to like!. They even included the original box and tube packaging, which is important to me as it is part of the presentation. Other retailer's don't and I never purchase from them again. Thank you so much!

For a relatively small store they have quite a wide selection of nice wines and liquors. Their prices are also very competitive. The only downside is that the staff is very unfriendly and not welcoming in the least. If you can look past that you will likely score a pretty good deal here.

This is a great little store. It is a hike from Basking Ridge but well worth the two hour round trip drive.Always a small but great selection of Barolo, Brunello and Rioja wine. Check out their website and normally find several of the above rated at 92+ by reputable wine critics at great prices. My second visit today purchasing over 3 cases of Brunello and plan on making the drive many times in the future.

I want to leave NEGATIVE STARS!! I bought a bottle of wine, drove home and uncorked it and it was moldy. I called and they told me I could come back and exchange it. I brought back my receipt and moldy cork and they REFUSED to exchange it for something else because I didn't come back with the bottle. Immediately I told them that I wasn't going to do that since it is quite literally illegal to drive with an open container. Clearly they don't care about the legality of their shady business practices because they insisted that it was not illegal and I should have done so. One lady behind the counter suggested that if the passenger had it, that it wouldn't be illegal. I actually laughed. Once I explained to her how that is still very much illegal and there would then be no way, if I had been pulled over, to ascertain whether it belonged to the driver or the passenger, she had nothing to say. I have come here so many times and I am actually shocked at how disrespectful and ridiculous this encounter was. They seemed to be suggesting that since I didn't come back with the bottle, I was trying to pull one over on them by drinking this moldy spoiled bottle of wine and trying to get a refund. I also would like to mention I was going to buy another $40 bottle on top of my exchange. But they would rather lose that profit, and my business over $20. Needless to say I will never be setting foot in this smelly dusty rudely-employed excuse for a business ever again. Oh and I am disputing it with my credit card so they can't have the lousy $20 they were so desperate to hold on to.

One of my favorite, rare liqueurs has always been difficult to find and even more difficult since COVID. I found this Shoppe on a Google-search in last-ditch effort to have it delivered (to Upstate NY) and there it was not only on sale but with a very reasonable shipping cost! The three bottles were professionally packaged and delivered safely in a couple of days. Very much a pleasure to do business with - thank you!

I've never been inside this store yet I am a regular customer. The best web wine retailer I have ever encountered. They have a broad selection of wines at every price point. Consistently the best value in the tri-state area, and the delivery and order taking staff are excellent. Being a customer of Allendale allows me to drink the variety of wines I enjoy, discover new wines, and save money doing so. I'm a fan.

I couldn't find the wine I like anywhere online and even the wine distributor in California said they were out of the vintage (2015) that I wanted. I found it at Allandale at a really good cost, ordered it, and within 2 days it was at my doorstep. It was packed well. It had said up to 6 days for delivery so I was nicely surprised with my arrival! Great experience.

Support small businesses! Though the store is small, they've got an impressive selection of everything you'd want, from party drinks to fine wines. The staff is very knowledgeable and can easily help you get exactly what youre looking for. Highly recommend.

Very good shop located in the downtown at the roundabout. Ample inventory of spirits, wine & cold beer. Though a small space, the layout is well executed as they've done an admirable job utilizing the limited floor space. Very competitive pricing and helpful service make for a satisfying visit.

Super hateful & never really listens, I asked for a small bottle of pink Whitney, the smallest other than airplane bottles and she just looked at me dumb founded. Then I asked if there was anything besides the fifths and she just said that’s the only size and then never offered to find anything similar or help of any sorts.
