This is my hometown greenhouse. I’ve been going here since I was a kid for over 30 years. They have always had an amazing selection of houseplants, tropicals, orchids, succulents, and garden varieties. The staff is incredibly nice and happy to help me with any questions I may have. They have a few furry feline friends who maintain the shop, painted turtles, and an amazing fish fertilizing system. I visit every time I’m in town!

I love it here. Great selection, prices.I always feel like I'm in a jungle walking through, which I love! You can purchase pretty much anything plant related here... they also have a gift/shopping area with local products, "stuff" for kids...etc. I've purchased houseplants to Christmas gifts here. Support local!

Love this place. It is independently owned so I know my money is going back into local hands. The green houses that seem to go on forever and turtle ponds that are great entertainment for the kids. Look for the resident cat while you are there; he’s friendly and loves being pet.

Have been going here for years! Look, I know there's a place for the big box home improvement stores, but there's really no comparison.First, the staff is always amazing - so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.The selection is massive - just about anything you could want. And the quality is always amazing. Just when you think you've explored every nook and cranny, there's another chock full of more plants.Most recently, I went there on Mother's Day. While the crowds were huge and people had to park out on Rte 101, the staff was still incredibly helpful!Oh, and free popcorn!!!

I went here for the first time today and I was truly amazed at the amount of plants and gardening supplies that they had! The title makes it sound like this place is small but it’s much bigger than you’d expect! The plants were very well cared for and a lot of them had short descriptions of what they are and how to care for them. They have an abundance of pots to choose from and plenty of garden ornaments. Truly a gardener’s paradise! A nice touch touch is that they also offer free popcorn, cookies and water while you walk around and enjoy the plants. Sidenote: they have some turles and fish that are fun to watch for a minute

It goes forever in all directions. I'm not even a huge gardener or plant person, but I actually look forward to going here with my green-thumbed wife because it's so beautiful and well stocked. Free popcorn helps too. Prices are fair, everything is healthy. Great spot.

I just went yesterday and now I want to go back!See photo of my first haul from House By The Side Of The Road. Amazing selection, and they packed them very well for transport and helped me carry them to my car. It almost felt like getting cuttings from a family member! I was able to amble through the whole place without anyone trying to sell me anything, but at the same time no sales people avoided my gaze. It feels like everyone was ready to help but no one was going to rush me along if I just wanted to stare at their turtles, koi pond, or orchids all day. I will be back as soon as I can. Edit Update: I brought my mother who was having the winter blues and it really cheered her up. The place is so full of life it almost feels like a park or exhibit. You should go!

I had such a lovely experience shopping for a birthday gift for a friend of mine. I found some really nice items! When I went to the register, I remembered they sometimes have boxes to pack items in, especially when they are gifts. When I inquired, the two woman behind the counter not only boxed the gifts, they also wrapped them beautifully and tied a bow around everything. What an incredible service to offer. I will definitely be returning at Christmas time!!!!

This isn't your average nursery. It is OCTOBER and they still have all kinds of orchids, bonzis, tropical fruit trees, and miniature plants for terrariums. They also have a beautiful koi and turtle pond. Staff are quite knowledgeable and kind. Overall, it is a truly magical place to visit.

An equally wonderful escape to just surround yourself with plants of all kinds. Plus they have free popcorn!If you are close by, a must stop. If not, make it a destination.

Great selection with zero hospitality. House by the Side of the Road is near and dear to my heart because my mother who has passed was a frequent shopper. I was running through the greenery as a child. I was surprised by the chill factor. Staff made me feel like an inconvenience. Nothing ruins an experience more. The little things are the big things.

Driving down the road thinking wedding plans and where can I get some houseplant clippings? What do I drive past is a sign that says Hundreds of house plants... So I turned around. The staff is so sweet and helpful here, they thought up ideas with me and we decided on this little beauty. The clippings were cut and ready for me the week before the wedding. The cost was impressively low for what I received.I was so happy to find 3 different types of the same plant which ended up making our little guest gifts so much better than I could have imagined. It all worked out and the plant gifts were a big hit. Thank you to all the staff that helped add this little touch that made a big impression. There selections are the biggest I have seen and it is nice to just browse through. Although I have a hard time going and not adding to my collection. Top Notch service with knowledgeable people.

Wonderful greenhouse! Indoor koi and red-eared slider ponds, and the most extensive selection of indoor plants I've seen in decades. Outdoor plants just getting readied. Into fairy or gnome gardens? This is your one-stop shop. Staff very helpful and fabulously jovial.

Lovely family owned business with beautiful grounds, extensive plants of all different varieties. Really appreciate knowing where my plants come from and that they are pesticide free to help the wildlife. Love the fish and turtles and native plant offerings, too. Prices are competitive and quality looks phenomenal! Will be back.

My sister hosts Easter, has for years. Every year I stop in here on Easter Day to buy Easter potted flowers for 12 people. I love the place. The plants are healthy, hardy and well cared for, the service is almost perfect (there is one lady who's just ok and seems to be a boss of sorts), the process are good. I wish a place like this existed near my home, which is about an hour away!One thing: the parking lot is dirt/mud. Asphalt would make this a perfect spot that I might stop into every time I visited rather than the once a year.

House by the side of the road is a wonderful place! Every type of plant you'd ever want can be found here. The gift section is fabulous with garden items, cards, socks, trinkets and so much more!! My favorite is the fairy village! Love this place!
