This was our first time at this camp ground and it was not bad. Clean, friendly, easy to navigate and close to a Walmart or Grocery store..Wine and liquor as well. I recommend this one so come and visit. You must purchase wood if you want to use there fire pits. You must be kind and play your music at a low volume and you cannot come in or out past 11pm til 8AM.

We loved it here. The river was shallow in spots but nothing horrible and so clear!!!. We were there for 6 nights and it was relaxing. Porta pots down by the river end were clean. The showers could use a little updating but they were clean and worked well. Overall very happy with this find and will be back

Beach sand so thick on roads inside campground!! Knowing they are renting to Bikers for Bike Week and no warnings on difficulty riding bike on sand. Quite a few people including myself went down on this sand and owners did nothing to correct situation. Some ares were so bad it was ridiculous! I went down just moving my bike after taking off of trailer I still had my shorts on and wasn't expecting to go down but I did and 2nd degree burns on my leg. I'm so disgusted in owners reaction and lack of concern Then they come by and complain we arent done packing up by 11:00am and said they have rules in place well I dont care about your rules, we will lesve when ready!! I showed them my leg and said Im moving as fast as I can with all the pain I was in my whole week was ruined shortly after checking in Thanks for ruining my vacation and my leg thanks for the Added Medical costs and doctor visits I cant afford Thanks for nothing Bearcamp!!! Never will we be back!! And again, thanks for your lack of concern for the health & safety of your visitors!! You owe me a full refund to help with my medical expenses!

We come with a large group every year and the staff accommodates above and beyond. The grounds are kept clean and there’s plenty of room at each site. This is my 5th year but many of my friends are at 10+ years and we have never had any complaints. See ya next year!!

Nice little campground. Friendly people and reasonable priced. Plenty of sites along the river. The lower section of the campground is nice, however the roads lack definition and it's easy to wander onto someone's site. I would have given it 5 stars but the seasonal campers give the place a bad impression because that's what you see upon arrival. Also the site we were on, 50 is about 200 yards off the intersection of rt 16 and 25. Trucks, loud motorcycles, emergency vehicles and just plain traffic are all you hear a day long.

We stayed here for about 9 days. Brought our tents, 3 kids, 1 dog, had so much fun being outdoors, especially when it was our first time camping out. River by was kid friendly, shallow and deep spots were obvious, so i was relaxed about my 7yr (beginner at swimming) playing in water. Attendants and people around were super friendly, and helpful. Shower and bathrooms were always clean. LOVED THAT! Over all, we love this place, and will return in future!

The campsite was clean and the grounds themselves were quiet. the motorcycles however were very loud. I understand we went during motorcycle week but just the proximity of the site to the Yankee barbeque leads me to believe it would be loud without it being bike week. other than the noise it was great and the river was fun to float down.

Great campground with amazing staff. Their pet policy is awesome, (they let your dogs have fun), there is plenty of dog poop stations, free private hot showers, great river. Only complaint is the road noise., but every thing else makes it worth it. Some sites are quieter than others. Beautiful campground.5 🌟, two 👍, and a 👋

Spent the 4th of July weekend here with two adults two dogs and one 8 year old. With the dogs we were looking for something low key and brining is back to nature. (No pools or fancy Amenities) although They did offer a Rex room with a pool table we did not use as we have the dogs but still good for rainy days. That is just what bear river offered! The river was so much fun we spent most of our trip there. The current does move quickly but there’s shallow spots so you can still move around. There was even a storm warning and the owner went out to each site to alert us about it and the risk of heavy winds. Thought that was super respectful and shows he cares! The bathrooms and shower were very clean and neat. Even with all the river sand going in them I’m sure so great job! Everyone was respectful of quite hours even for a holiday weekend. Nothing but positive feedback on this campground. Thanks again!

The river was great and so was the campsite. Camping is met to be peaceful. My family and I could not sleep until 1 am due to the drinking party next to our camp sight. The rule for quiet hours are 11 pm to 8am. Disrespectful campers drinking and being very loud caused us to miss sleep and tainted our camping weekend. I hope in the future the 11 pm quiet rule is enforced. We will never go back and camp there due to our experience.

My family and I went to Bearcamp for 4th of July weekend. The staff there were very welcoming and friendly. Our site was huge, right on the river and amazing. The river was shallow, calm and clean. Great for beginner tubers! We had a really great time! Can't wait to go back!

I just stayed 4 nights at the campground- and I feel it's a great choice for the area. What I needed was a basically a base camp where I could have a nice tent camping space that would be used mostly for sleeping (vs. staying at the campground for relaxing, using the river, cooking, etc).My space, #57, was very large for tent camping, had a picnic table and fire pit (which I didn't use). There was plenty of flat, root-free space for me to pitch the tent. I put my tent on flat, hard-packed sand...which is fine but I would recommend a mat or towel for the tent entry way to wipe your feet and leave your shoes on.I used the shower daily. The shower I used was clean, plenty of hot water, good water pressure...and free! The bathroom was bare bones but clean and well maintained. The campground was busy but I didn't feel it was rowdy and certainly wasn't loud. The quiet hours were observed when I was there. But for me, Bearcamp River Campground is about its owners. They take great care of the campground and great care of the people who stay there.Just one example, I was (very) late for my Wed. night check in. I called and was told the parking gate pass would be waiting for me and it would be no problem at all to be late...just make myself at home. I really appreciate their accommodating me.Overall, 5 stars. It's it a great setting, a well maintained facility, run by nice people who genuinely want you to have a good time and will do anything to make sure you do.

This was our first time staying at bearcamp river campground and we absolutely loved it. The staff was super nice and accommodating. It was tranquil and not crazy busy like other campgrounds, which is exactly what we were looking for. The river was perfect and our four kids had a blast! I would absolutely recommend this campground and we are planning to come back next year.

VERY friendly staff. We arrived late at night and they were more than willing to help us get our larger camper into our site. Our site was gorgeous right on the river. We brought our 2 large dogs and they had a blast as well. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Friendly staff. Beautiful simple campground on the river in the woods. Many off grid tent sites along the river which we prefer or you can rent a camper with water sewer and electrical. There are lots of sandy places to jump in the river or sit on the side in a chair. River is perfect for tubing and kayaking. You can throw a tube in on one side of camp and float back to your site. It's awesome here!

We travel to this campground every year. It is a small family run camp ground. If you ever have a problem they will help you out in every way possible. I do suggest to spend time exploring the bear camp river that is very nice on a hot summer day.The last couple of years there have been small leeches that like to attach to your feet. They are harmless but they should be taken off as soon as possible. In some spots the current is a little strong and is deep in some spots. The showers are free but you do have to walk up a big hill to use them. There is also flush toilets in the same building. There are 2 porta potty s in the middle of the camp ground that are free to use.

Bearcamp River Campground is a very nice campground on the Bearcamp River. The camping is wonderful because your right on the river. The help is very nice and helpful at all times. When you check in they make you feel like family. The bathrooms and showers were always very clean. They rent pop-up's too and they were very clean and neat.I saw one review on here and it sounded like they were not campers at all. Like I said the people that work there will go out of there way to help you. Hope you enjoy camping at Bearcamp River Campground...

Greg was a fantastic host. We decided to switch sites which we could do because no one was on the site we wanted and had no issues with us switching. When it rained heavy one day he made sure we could stay dry by hanging out in the rec room. Everytime we left for a day trip and came back in he made sure to say hello and ask how our day was. The site we had was HUGE and was able to move our fire ring to closer to the river which made the evening relaxing. If you are looking for a beautiful campground by the river that is very quiet during the week, this is the spot!

My only real problem was with the amount of road noise from the highway near by. I understand that there isn't much anyone do but if you're a lite sleeper in a tent, I'd ask to be more inside the grounds then along the river. It's a clean and safe and very friendly atmosphere here. I will be back and I wish the new management great success.

Went Friday Saturday and left today around 11:30. Let me tell you... this campground is amazing. You have your own area, with a fire pit and a camper. It’s perfect. And it’s right by a river. My friends and I road the river for 3 hours on tubes. Really fun place. It’s clean and safe. I’m definitely coming back soon

I’ve been a seasonal there for 4 years and pulled out at the end of this summer. The new owners are greedy and incompetent. They ruined my families summer without hesitation. I will never go back and I will not ever recommend this campground to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Good riddance new management.

Terrible campground!Everything is old. There is nothing for kids to do there. Went up to complain to the ownerwho was apparently still in bed at noon time about one of her seasonal"s walking down the river in the dark drunk. When we went in we took the wrong road and ended up in the seasonal section what a dirty pit with a bunch of rednecks smoking weed. Stayed one night and left. My husband said he would rather sleep in the car then ever go back to that campground.Do not bring your kids there unless you want them to see a bunch of drunks smoking dope at the beach! Place is nasty!

We were booked for three nights over this Memorial Day weekend. We had to leave after the first night loosing over $100 and our much awaited three day vacation .The site was minute, ridiculously un-level and entirely covered in 8” of sand so when you back your trailer in - it sinks - unevenly. Sand = Ants … who thought this was a good idea??The water supply was spraying water (leaking) directly on to the 30 amp breaker - didn’t even want to touch it - so blatantly DANGEROUS.Facilities aside - the camp ground became uncomfortably over crowded with in a few hours of arrival. The sites are on top of each other with little to no privacy. We enjoyed the five cars in the site adjacent to us and their high beam headlights they directed at us from 10:30 pm to 11:15 pm . Accompanied by 8 to 10 screaming children that carried on until after 11:30 pm. It’s evident none of the “rules” are enforced here. All in all , the WORST camping experience in all my years .We booked this shanty town based on the good reviews , I’m not sure how anyone can review this place positively .
