We specifically stopped in to see their train station upstairs, which is pretty detailed. The boys loved it and asked to go back. Certainly a place to experience whether you're young or old! I never knew it existed! Inside the main door, go left to the stairs or elevator. From there follow the signs, turn right and go down the hall. Easy to find.

I walked in 10 minutes before closing just before a holiday. I was met with a smile and the gentleman was very polite and helpful. He took the time to show my 3 yr old probably the most incredible remote train village I have ever seen. They were definitely more interested in making a little boy happy, than selling me anything. I will always buy anything building related from them going forward!! I will also tell anyone that will listen to go there.

Wonderful store, helpful staff, low prices, and wide array of product selection for constructing high-performance buildings in our cold climate as well as excavation and general dirt work supplies. I used to go to Fogg’s and LaValley’s at similar frequencies. I am done with Fogg’s! LaValley’s is now the only locally-owned reputable supplier left to serve the upper valley. Their prices on most construction supplies are 20-30% cheaper than Fogg’s or Home Depot which is needed relief in this period of high inflation.

Sadly I have to post a negative review. Picked out a counter top and a backslash. Waited patiently for a month for a quote after being told several time that it would be a few days. Called them… zero follow up. Called again… zero follow up. Called the president of the company… zero follow up. Not only do we need to finish our kitchen we also have two bathrooms to re-do. I will never consider LaValley’s again.Very disappointing customer service as there was no customer service.

We have dealt with an order for cabinets in our kitchen over the last three months. We had to send back the whole original order due to damage and poor construction. We were up sold a different cabinet brand and have also had to send some of those cabinets back for the same reasons.The cause has been a combination of their delivery person not taking care when loading and unloading as well as the cabinets not being put together very well. We were told the cabinets sent back a second time we’re “ready”. They were not. In fact they looked as though they had been collecting dirt and had not been taken care of at all let alone repaired. The rep at the store has not been helpful. We originally planned to order other items from LaValleys to finish the project (counter top, sink, etc.) but will look at another store to do so.

Purchased a pallet of wood pellets for our stove yesterday. They were delivered today. I am amazed at the skill of the delivery driver. he asked where i wanted them. I told him anywhere in the driveway would be fine. He noticed the pallets with a few bags left by our back door and asked if that is really where we wanted them. I said yes but between the over head phone and power lines i didn't think the could get them there. He said he could if he pulled up just a little. I watched in amazement as he took the boom over a 40 foot Blue spruce, our garage and placed them right by our back door. This was especially helpful since i sprained my knee last week and my wife has a broke foot. Thank you. I wish i knew the drivers name so i could thank him directly but I didn't catch it. Kudos to getting the job done and making one very satisfied customer!

Sales person was nice and helpful. Told us they would have our garage fully installed and completed in 2 days. From the first time the team showed up, it’s been over 2 weeks and we still don’t have a completed garage. They continue to say “we will be there _____ day and will stay through completion.” This has happened at least 3 times now. Would just like our garage finished when they say.

Barely got a response week after week while ordering a storm door, coordination was difficult and I had to call almost every time to ensure I got the product. Later, when I called about not receiving reimbursement for other wood I returned (delivered in poor quality, wrong size), the person I spoke with on the phone got aggressive with me immediately. Bad on multiple levels. Would not recommend.

Update 6/13/2022: Stopped there today to find a new pair of work gloves. Was not disappointed. Good quality. Fair price. Satisfied customer . ____________________Vast array of interests and shopping possibilities are here. There is everything from what one would expect at a typical hardware store. There is a nice selection of good work and ooutdoor clothing. Also available are extensive assistance, support and materials for home and business building and remodeling. This is one of many LeValley's in the region. They are all slightly different, but share all of the excellent elements of this store.

Good selection, horrible customer service. We have tried to support this local building supply store time and time again over the years but it’s not worth it. The employees are extremely rude and unhelpful, and management defends their behavior. Don’t waste your time and money.

I would give a zero if I could. My husband and I are planning several construction projects and were out pricing materials. We spent about 1/2 hour wondering around and could not see a single price tag. Worse yet, even though we saw several employees, not one person even acknowledged us, let alone offerred assistance. We left and went to Home Depot where we get good prices and service.

The management at LaValley is fantastic and their service to customers is outstanding. I just moved into a 15 year old home and needed 15 year old towel hardware from an out dated collection. They had what I needed and they shipped it to me in Albuquerque. I whole hardily recommend shopping at La Valley Building Supply. Thank you for your help. I love the matching towel hardware.

We are updating a 40 yr old house. Hubs and I opted to start our renovation here hoping to support a local business vs the big orange box down the street. Idk how to describe the experience other than to say we just didn’t feel welcome or valued as a customer. No offers to assist. When we eventually found all the items on our list and went to check out, one item had no bar code. Cashier asked me to go back to the shelf and take a picture of the bar code. Probably won’t return.

We went there today. We were looking to replace our screen for our slider. The man who waited on us was not helpful. The girl at the front check out was rude. Never smiled. Was aggravated that we interrupted her paper work. Never shop there again.

Unfriendly and unhelpful yard staff with piss poor attitudes. A friendly greeting and some common courtesy would be nice. Furthermore, not everyone is a expert on the terminology of construction products. I would suggest that the upper management spend some time training the yard staff, and ALL staff, for that matter, on the proper etiquette for quality customer service and interaction. Just for clarification, I am a contractor and have been in the building industry for 35 plus years. NOT IMPRESSED.

Their prices significantly beat Home Depot. If you know what you want, go to La Valleys; you will save your money. If you don't know what you want, and are going to need assistance, go to Home Depot; La Valleys doesn't have very many service persons. However, I would only follow basic assistance/advice given to me by service persons at Home Depot because they aren't very experienced. La Valleys is better than Home Depot for advice, if you talk to the "old-hands" working behind the service counter. Just expect that you will have to wait for their good advice/assistance!

I really want to love LaValley's. I have tried over and over to give them all my business. Unfortunately, every time I call or try to talk to someone, I am made to feel like they just don't care. It is almost painful trying to get answers to questions and it always feels like they can't wait to finish the conversation.

Knowledgeable employees guided me around inside the store and helped me with the process of what I was going to make. Unfortunately, when the goods were delivered they were damaged. But mistakes happen, and they came the next day free of charge and swapped it out, so everything ended up great.

First time in, the place seems like it has anything and everything you might need or want to do any type of project, I recently opened up an account so I can get quality materials instead of depending on the big box stores, I have an ongoing project they seem to have their stuff together. 👍👌

Purchased two cedar 4x4 posts for $50 a piece. Had no idea cedar had gotten so expensive! Later found a source of black locust posts for WAY cheaper, and wanted to return. Without a receipt they absolutely would not work with me. Unwilling to use credit card record as indication or their tagging system as indications that I bought the posts from them, or to look up purchase by date. Completely inflexible. Since they won't do a simple return, I simply won't return.

I really like this place it has everything you could need or want as far as building supplies. They also have very knowledgeable people working there which I might add is not the case in the big box stores so when I need info along with good quality products I go to laValleys.

I built a new house last year and bought the basic shell at Davis Frame in Claremont. The rest of the materials (interior framing lumber, garage, all roofing and siding, etc I got at LaValleys. I found the prices to be as good as Home Depot and they deliver for free. The guys in the store are all helpful and knowledgeable and gave us a lot of free advice and good recommendations for materials. Even the delivery drivers went out of their way to help us put materials where we wanted them and went the extra mile. Only one time I had an issue and they resolved it in a professional manner. Very helpful clerks inside. Outside stuff like lumber has to be paid for outside. Do the inside shopping first for a quicker exit. Main counter is only for contractors, pay cash at north counter.
