This was one of the most family friendly motels we have stayed in. It is a perfect location if you are visiting Santa's village, ( only 20 minutes away), it is very convenient to Whitefield, Bethlehem, North Conway etc. Minutes away from the Cog railroad and Bretton Woods. The owner of Caroll Motel couldn't have been more hospitable. He had a young son who was around our children's ages. They had a blast playing on the outdoor trampoline, playing basketball, etc. They kept themselves entertained for hours. There was small but very well maintained pool also added to the enjoyment. The room we had accomodated our family perfectly. There was a queen bed in one room and two twin beds in the other adjoining room. The room was equipped with a small kitchenette, and a refrigerator. Our kids had a separate TV in their room to watch their shows. Everything in the room was very clean, and well maintained. Having come to this part of Newhampshire for over 20 years this was one of the nicest, kid friendly, budget friendly, motels we have stayed in. Not to mention, it is a prime location that never feels overcrowded with traffic and tourists. We will definitely be back, and would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.

The grounds are beautiful, there is a nice pool and a park and trampoline for the kids as well as plenty of room to run around. We also had a fire pit in the back of our cabin which was very nice as well. The outside is great. The inside not so, much... in desperate need of updates. The couch was borderline too uncomfortable to sit on.The beds were so uncomfortable we barely slept all night and everything is on a slant so we were rolling into eachother. The doors didn't shut. None of the lamps worked. The wifi worked well. Check in / check out was simple. The floors were filthy. My son is a crawler, he came in clean and within minutes his hands and knees were black. There's only one a/c that cools the living area but none in the bedrooms so on this 90degree day it was really hot in thebedroom. We ended up leaving a day early and they wouldnt offer any type of refund. Really disappointing and I wouldn't recommend to any friends and definitely won't return.

Had a nice time on my 2 night stay. Is this place perfect? Nope, but they don't pretend to be. Family friendly and clean. Touches of updates here and there. Small but nice pool (parents watch your kids it DOES have a drop off).My bed was comfy but the other in the unit was not. Room could have been arranged differently to make it more comfortable. Remove a bed, add a sofa and it wouldn't have appeared so crowded. But, still clean and good value for money.Screen porch was nice bonus and the owners were very pleasant and ways working.Would visit again. Nice place for kids to play if you have little ones. Close to many trails and not a bad ride to N Conway. Quick jaunt to Bethlehem and Whitefield.

Cottages are old but cozy and charming. The floors are not level and some doors may have trouble closing. But the cottage was clean and comfortable. Heat worked great and the gas fireplace was a nice touch. Shower is small, water pressure ok, plenty of hot water. The whole cottage felt more quaint and cozy than outdated to me. Would probably stay again

Let me preface this review by stating that the owners are nice, friendly and courteous and that the little cabin we rented was very clean and neat. The owners provided things like soap and shampoo and the grounds were attractive and manicured. We overall enjoyed our visit here. The drawbacks and main reasons for 3 stars vs 5 are as follows.1) the bed is awful. Hard as a rock and uncomfortable as a result. So hard that it literally caused us both sleepless pain filled nights of tossing and turning followed by mornings of terrible pain in our hips and backs. Bad.2) but that’s not the worst part. On top of that the floor of the cabin also slopes to the right so the bed also leans at a right sided tilt. So in addition to a hard mattress my husband also kept rolling into me all night and it was literally physically exerting to stay in our normal places in the bed. Exhausting and deeply uncomfortable. If they can’t afford to fix the floors then for gods sake buy bed levelers! This was unacceptable. For $312 for 2 night off season they can afford to at least level the beds.3) hot water. In other words what hot water? The bathroom sink has a sluggish TRICKLE of FREEZING water and nothing else. Ever. We let the sink hot water run for 15 minutes and nary a drop of hot water ever came out. Never mind the tiny little sign on the mirror about underground pipes and let it run etc. it simply doesn’t work. A literal trickle. Of freezing freezing water. The shower? Moderate pressure. Lukewarm water after running it for 20 minutes. Never hot. Barely enough pressure to clean one’s self properly. Guys if you’re going to have multiple rooms and cabins open after Labor Day you need to heat the water properly. Invest in a properly sized hot water heater that actually provides enough for everyone. Again for over 150 a night it’s unacceptable to not provide basic hot water in sink and shower. Period. That is not negotiable. This was ridiculous. All in all it’s nothing personal but I will not be returning. Nor can I recommend a stay here. Guys you need to invest in some upgrades. Level floors. Reasonable mattresses and hot water.

Loved this place! This was my 2nd and my mom's 1st time there. The cottage was extremely clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, reasonably priced, and the new owners (as of 1 year ago) were very friendly and accommodating! I definitely plan to stay there again in the future when we don't bring our dog and he stays with family (unfortunately no pets allowed, but understandable because some pet owners are terrible). Check them out!

Stayed in cottage #5 for two nights. Staff was friendly. Grounds were nice, especially playground. Beds were comfortable. Pool was frigid and we could not use it. Only one burner on stove worked, making cooking difficult. Bathroom was large, but lacked counter space and stall shower was dark, tiny, had spiders, and smelled badly of mold (the whole place had a slightly moldy smell, but the shower was quite strong). Very cramped layout overall. Not as clean as I would have liked, but not so bad I didn't want to sit down and relax. Towels smelled very oddly and strongly, like tea and maybe a piney perfume. It was too hot to close up windows, but not cold enough to justify AC, so we tried to sleep with windows open, but noise from road and neighbors was too loud. Overall average experience.

Took my wife here for our anniversary. Place was great! It was quiet, cozy, relaxing, and very clean. The pool was pretty clean. The staff were pleasant and the area was beautiful. The only real drawback was the tiny shower that I could barely move around in and the lack of blinds behind the curtains. Other than that I would recommend this to anyone, especially for the price.

Charming little cottages with everything you need. I really wish it was set farther back in the woods but I am very happy with everything else! Thank you againRooms: 3 beds for us, two in the same room and one in the cutest room!! The kitchen is mixed in with the living room but that is the charm. The bathroom mirror is tiny as well but again, it's charming.Safety: Locks on all doors and very friendly folks!Walkability: Everything you need is right there with a gas station across the street and a few stores scattered near byNoteworthy details: Loved the multiple screened in porches we had. Wish it was warmer to sit outside haha

We came to New Hampshire for the first time and we really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were amazing and the beds were super comfy. The bathroom was a little cramped but we made it work. This is a great place as there are lots of trails nearby and fun activities to do in a 20-30 minute range. There weren't many restaurants nearby but we managed to find some in Littleton. Overall, we would definitely come back and stay!

The location to access a lot of hikes, bike rides, and general off road activities is great. Rode the Presidential rail trail from there. However the way the cottages are situated its very close to two main roads. A LOT of traffic noise. The place was clean. The screened porch on the cottage was great. Nice to sit out in the evening. Overall the only real downside is traffic noise which is beyond their control.

Very cute. Love the screened in porch to be able to sit outside and not get eaten alive. The grill that came with out cottage was taken while we went to grab a few things bit the hostess came and replaced it right away when she heard. Each cottage has it's own theme so you can choose based on your taste. We stayed in The Victorian. Love it.

We split our stay btwn the motel and a cottage and both experiences was great; both places were very clean and well stocked and reasonably priced. There was a rare heat wave that week and an A/C unit was installed in the cottage! Owners are nice people, personable and take care of the units/pool/grounds very nice. My family of four were very comfortable and there was good storage available to store our stuff; hooks throughout the place to hang towels/bags/etc. My boy was very sad to leave. I highly recommend this place.

The rooms were clean the beds were comfy the shower was hot ! There’s a delicious pizza place YaYa’s and for breakfast Monroe’s both right down the the street and there’s a general store for gas right across the street and Carroll’s is right on the snowmobile trails! Bonus!!!! When we returned home I realized I forgot my snowmobile jacket in the room, I emailed them right away and they mailed it to me ❣️

The cottages are very clean and in excellent condition. The screened-in porch was a particularly nice feature. The beds were comfortable, and the AC and heat worked very well. We stayed in cottage #6, the Camping Cottage, and really enjoyed our stay. The wifi was a bit unreliable, but that's WiFi these days. It varied from one to two bars in our cottage, and sometimes dropped completely. But it always restarted, and my photos and videos backed up overnight every time. One oddity: we had no cell signal there. I had to drive about a mile to get a signal, and one day the whole REGION had no signal - at least from AT&T.The general store across the street was very handy, and had reasonable prices for gas. If you approached the motel from the south, try heading north and taking a right at the light just past the motel. About 5 miles down 302, there are a couple of spectacular roadside waterfalls. Will definitely stay there again.

Our favorite place to stay!! The Carroll Motel and Cottages is a wonderful place to stay in the White Mountains. The rooms are immaculately clean and maintained! There is so much to do including a heated pool, horseshoes, playground, and bad minton. The rooms are so cozy and beautiful. It is a home away from home with the nicest owner you could ever meet!

This is my favorite vacation spot and place to stay. I love seeing Cindy, it feels like family. The cottages are perfect to cook and feel like you're in a home. There are motel rooms also. It can also be a romantic getaway spot. The owner maintains the lawn, pool and cottages.

This hotel and nice and clean. Check in and out was a breeze. We were doing the ice castels and the cog railway and it was in the middle of the two so location was key for us. When I booked I thought I booked a cottage and whole family was excited. But when i checked in we were given a motel room and told the cottages had a 2 night minimum and there were none available. The motel room was fine. There is a strip of 6 or so and I dont think there was anyone next to us and we were on the end so noise wasn't an issue. We couldnt get the TV to work but we had a tablet and the kids just watched that.

Stayed the night while enjoying Mt Washington and had a fantastic time. Check in was easy, the cottage was a delight, and there's a general store right across the street that has almost anything you forgot or need. Plenty of things to do on the property. Will definitely consider staying there again if in the area.

Stayed recently over Labor Day weekend with my wife and some friends. Super cute lodging with fun lawn games available. The best part is the management team will go the extra mile to help you out. I left my Kindle in the room and Management called me up and mailed it out to me. I would definitely recommend this place.

Quaint fully-equipped cottages. Private fire pit and charcoal grill and picnic table. Pool did not seem to be heated but was still nice. Friendly staff. Good for kids. General store right across the street.
