Great for the price. Very clean, comfortable bed, nice sized room. Stayed one night for the eclipse and it was very pleasant. The kitchenette is a nice convenience as well, and check in/out is easy. Only thing was the shower in 1D periodically makes a really crazy noise for about 20 seconds which was startling but didn't seem to indicate any real issue. Cute place!

I just finished a second stay here, and I absolutely love it. The location is so convenient to hikes etc in the Franconia and Crawford Notch area. It feels like my White Mountains hiking home when I want to stay indoors instead of in my tent.My first stay was to be close for a Mount Washington summit at the end of March, and I had the entire place to myself on a weekday and night. The kitchen was just what I needed to prep my hiking day protein oatmeal, and the shared spaces are cozy and have good vibes. My second stay was for a Franconia Ridge Loop hike at the end of April. I stayed on a Saturday, so there were a few other guests, but I never saw them and had the kitchen and living area to myself after my hike for dinner. So luxurious! The place is cleaner than most hotels twice the price (yall know it’s rough out there these days), and I appreciate the hands off style of privacy you get here, while also still feeling cozy and communal. The inn is a quaint older building, so don’t expect modern perfection and you won’t be disappointed. I think the value for the price is just right.I stayed in the standard room then one of the queen rooms (2a), and found the shower to be much more accommodating for my tall height in the queen room, just fyi. I was super pleased with the room sizes and chairs, bathrooms, storage spaces etc. Awesome all around. Just make sure you have your room code within 24 hours, especially if you’ll be traveling through areas with sketchy service. Reach out via the number or email provided and they’ll get them to you quickly.Places to eat are within 15 minutes or so, Bethlehem has places that stay open later. If you’d like to see the inn as it pertained to my first stay, you can check out the video on YouTube: Mount Washington Spring Summit Trip | Scenic Drive, Reflections | White Mountains Hikinghttps://youtu.be/CgHa5RAWfjkHappy hiking and safe travels!

Location was perfect for the 6 min drive to the wedding we were attending. The Inns parking lot was nice and lighten for easy arrival too. Beds comfy and room super clean. I brought k cups and used their useful kitchen. The shower was wonderfully hot ( just the way I like it) but the shower nozzle made a horrible sound when turned on. Hope I didn’t wake the guest! Thank you for the wonderful 2 nights!Safety: Inn nicely lighted

I have driven by the Allegory Inn multiple times while headed to the trailheads of NH’s White Mountains & made a note to myself to remember its name for future use. I finally stayed there 2 nights ago. The twin bed room & bath were sparkling clean; the bed was comfortable. I arrived after dark and left in the dark but was grateful for the inn’s comfort & convenience. I also loved having access to the guest kitchen.

Very cute setup. Rooms were modestly sized, but the common areas were huge and made for the perfect sitting/reading/etc. spots. Email communication was great, knew exactly how to get into the room the day of and checkout was just as simple. It was an unusually hot October day for my visit, so the room's heat I had on the 2nd floor was rough, but not unexpected. They did provide a fan and had it running on my arrival which was a nice touch. The front room that I had (view of Mt Washington, I think) meant the road traffic was a bit loud, but it definitely calms after 10 pm.Kitchen has a few snacks/things to make coffee for, but you will need to venture out/prep for any meals you want to have while staying here. But this is all stated very clearly on the website and in the welcome emails, so kudos to the owner for being on top of it.All in all, a great value for what you get in return. I felt like I was staying at my grandparents place again, complete with the great furniture, heat-swelling wood doors that take a little more "oomph" to open, and warmth of an actual home rather than just a hotel. If I'm in the area, I'd happily stay here again.

Much to my surprise this inn was located right around the corner from the wedding venue on Black Bear Road where my niece was getting married, a pleasant surprise which made driving back and forth for this informal get-together unusually simple and quick. The Allegory Inn probably has lots of stories to tell. It's old, quiet (thick walls) and free from busybodies. in fact, during my stay I did not see one other person in residence although I'm quite sure the rooms were filled. I was pleased to enjoy the kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator to stash my insulin and breakfast waffle. My room was exceedingly clean and, aside from a dripping faucet, very quiet and comfortable. Thank you Michelle and staff!

We were very happy with our stay at the Inn. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and use of the shared kitchenette was very helpful. The location was perfect for our early start at the North Twin trailhead for out 20 mile traverse of the Twins and Bonds. Would definitely stay again.Nearby activities: Lots of hiking trails within a short drive

Lovely old house that has been converted into guest suites. It was clean, comfortable, and the Inn provided a kitchen and living room areas apart from the private suites. Close to many hiking trails. The Inn also gave local info for groceries and dining. I had an amazingly tasty Turkey dinner for 15$ at Monroe’s Family Restaurant. Will stay here again!

A wonderful stay! I appreciated the quick and easy keycode check in after a long drive. The refrigerator available for use in the shared kitchen area was convenient, and it was a nice touch that coffee, tea, and mugs were available. Our room (1D) was very clean and comfortable and just what we needed for our two night stay. Very close to Mt Washington Jewell/Ammo trails and the Cog railroad, and near several cute small towns.

We were in the area for a wedding (Omni Mt. Washington) and the location was perfect, about a 10min drive. Our room (2C) was clean, and spacious, even the closet was impressive! Great communication from Michelle through email. We would stay again without question! Thank you! (4/5 only because my husband is 6'4" and couldnt stand under the shower head, but he's used to that)Rooms: Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Nice table, huge closet, and very clean.Safety: We felt very safe and secure. Automatic lights outside in the evening and passcodes on all the doors!

Comfy, cozy and clean-who could ask for more? We booked in on weekend night, to attend a local wedding. Lovely common areas, a cute little kitchenette, and ample amentities. A piece of jewelry was accidently left behind, and Michelle and her team went above and beyond to get it back to us. Great communication. Would not hesitate to book again!

Exactly what was needed for a short two night trip. Great communal areas - kitchen fully available, and multiple areas to relax outside of the room.Host did an excellent job of communicating prior to arrival date, and do follow their tips about cell service. They also provide great local recommendations in their communications.Amble parking space and very close to White Mountains and hiking areas.

Had a real quick stay here for a ski trip to Bretton Woods. For the money this place will be tough to beat. Less than 10 minutes away and check in/ check out couldn't have been easier. I stayed on the 3rd floor and the space was great. Clean, comfortable, and really a nice place that I didn't even get to fully enjoy. Thank you Michelle!

Part of the reason we booked at the Allegory Inn was due to the positive reviews regarding cleanliness, however we were disappointed to find our room did not live up to the reviews. Similar to some other posts - very poor ventilation in the room (and bathroom) and mildew in the shower.Edit: Michelle has had the same response to any critical review and instead places the blame on the customer. I’ve never had an experience like this - would not recommend.

We stayed here for one night. What a great find this was! Access is via a code key; some struggled with this. Just keep an eye on your emails for instructions from the Allegory Inn as we did and getting into both the building and our room was simple and straight forward. Some folks staying there found their email in their junk folder or promotions folder (gmail)There is plenty of parking, the room and bathroom both immaculate as was the shared kitchen. It was great meeting up with the other guests in the lounge area and sharing travel stories. We would most definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

A wonderful place to stay up in the north country! We were attending a wedding at the Mount Washington Resort and the Allegory was just a short 9 minute drive. We found our way with ease and was welcomed to a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed and complimentary bottles of water. The day had been so warm and the air conditioning in the room was very refreshing! Outside the room is a kitchenette with coffee and tea, and several places to relax and read! Staff were very communicative and kind with any questions we had as well. All of this for a great rate - we will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much!

Wonderful place to stay. It is smack in-between some of the best moose sighting areas there are. Also direct access to snow mobile trails. The entire Inn is spotless. Plenty of books, games to keep you occupied should you have time to relax at the house. Quick and easy access to other towns with large supermarkets and restaurants. Immediate responses from owner should you need anything. Kitchenette with everything you need for morning coffee or heating up meals. Can't say enough. I'll definitely return.

My husband and I were very pleased with Allegory! The inn and our rooms were so clean. We stayed in one of the two-room units because our 20-something daughter was with us. There was plenty of space for the 3 of us. There was a lot of attention to detail, which made the rooms comfortable. It was easy to control the temperature to our liking and the high quality room-darkening shades were a plus. There was also plenty of common-area space. Michelle was responsive with any questions and the check-in process was clear and easy. I highly recommend staying here!

Our room was as described and perfect for what we needed. The Inn was quiet and decorated for the holiday season. I would suggest bringing snacks and drinks for after dinner hours as there are no stores nearby that are open late night. Also, the Inn is close to the road so a room towards the back cuts down on traffic noise at night. The room was cozy and there wasn't a thermostat in our room but there was a small fan for air circulation. The queen size bed was comfy. There is currently a small coffee shop down the road for breakfast. There is coffee and tea available in the shared kitchen but none seemed to be decaf. There are takeaway cups.We didn't see much of the property outside as we just stayed overnight for an event. We boarded our dogs at the nearby kennel, which was convenient and affordable.

Our 2 night stay was a gift - we know the area well but had never stayed at the Allegory Inn. Communication was great and we found access to the Inn and our room very easy. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bedding is very nice. I appreciated having access to a fridge with a real freezer downstairs so that I could refreeze our ice packs over night.Being in Twin Mtn you are in the ❤️ Of the White Mtns. You won't find a lot of stores or restaurants but you will find abundant beauty and peacefulness! If you need the other you can drive to Littleton or North Conway.Within 2 hours of our arrival we had seen a moose, the next day we saw a bear that we were able to sit (in the car) and watch graze. We also saw beavers, deer and another moose. If you need anything, head up to YaYa's, just past the light at 3/302. There's also a store in Bretton Woods. (Both close early). Monroe's is open for breakfast and lunch (till 2 I believe). Very reasonable and a good breakfast to start your day!Rooms: Bed was comfortable. Lovely bedding. There are 4 pillows on a Queen, ask ahead if you might want extra since no one is on site to provide them later.Nearby activities: Hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, walking, Cog railroad, close to Franconia Notch, activities at Bretton Woods, pleasant ride to Gorham, etc.Food & drinks: No, there's not a lot in Twin Mountain, that's what makes it special to us! Monroe's, Celli's has good pizza - so we presume other things too- hope they're open more nights soon! (Mud season during our visit). Fabyan's is a short drive and they seem to be preparing for the season as well. Short ride to Littleton or Bartlett, Jackson, N. Conway.Noteworthy details: Common spaces for sitting at night or if you are traveling with friends you could gather in these rooms instead of your private room.

Super clean, comfy and spacious stay. Everything was very clean and spotless. We loved having a kitchen and full fridge to store our food items and make coffee/tea in morning. We only stayed one night, but we’d love to come back to explore the rest of the house and the hiking paths and outdoor space on the property. Self checkin/checkout was great and convenient. Would definitely stay here again and the price was very affordable and worth it.

We stayed during Columbus Day Weekend. The room and entire Inn were immaculate. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was basic but just what we needed. For gathering or just hanging out there are two common rooms that are very comfortable with couches and chairs. We made use of the group kitchen to store our food and make their coffee in the morning. The area is fantastic if you want to be on the midst of the white mountains. We enjoyed the multiple options for nearby hiking. Take out sandwiches from YaYa’s were excellent! We would definitely stay again
