We do a lot of camping all around the East Coast. Swansy lake campground, has a good location and the people are nice, but they have clearly prioritized profits over maintenance. It needs about a 1000 trees taken town. The roads need to be maintained and widened. The main drawback is the lack of bathroom facilities and showers. In the campground, there's absolutely nothing. (well, there are a few old fashioned dirt outhouses) And across the street, a 5 minute walk there is a small shower facility with coin operated showers two each and a real toilet. Considering the profits from hundreds of campsites (that were full) this level of no facilities is inexcusable. That said, we had no problems overall and the beach area was very well maintained.Nearby activities: Keene has several great restaurants

This is the definition of a 3 star campground. The lawn by the lake is nice and everyone of the staff we interacted with were nice. The facilities are not the nicest and the place could use some sprucing up. One thing I found to be a little unnecessary was to charge $10 per day to keep your vessel down by the water versus having to haul it from a campground across the street each time. We had 3 kayaks and $30 a day to leave them seems excessive. There was plenty of room and we had already paid to camp. It seems that would be included. They also love their tea's in the camp store for what that is worth.

Great store when it’s open but that’s about it.. i don’t believe the trees throughout the campground have had attention in 10+ year, not to mention they are very strict on not allowing you to cut anything…even dead branches... No working bathrooms by any campsites..you literally have to walk across the road to use the bathroom. So if you want roof damage to your camper and wanna walk a long distance just to use the 80’s bathroom by the office, this is your campground. One care per campsite even though most sites have plenty of room for 2…you guessed it..parking is across the street.. Very very sad. Not what i remember as a kid camping here. Just lazy.

A big beautiful waterfront on Swanzey Lake an area to relax, sunbath, swim or rent a boat or even a cottage. The Campground is in a wooded area which is very spacious and is equipped to handle any camper. Their are many places nearby within driving distance that will accommodate any shopper, the adventurous or foodies. But their waterfront is so beautiful you may find yourself taking in all the wonderful opportunities their and not venturing out at all. Their is plenty of fun contests and boat races for children and party boat tours that go out regularly around this stunning lake. This family Campground I will say is the best and the most Casual and the most fun around It is also a Family owned campground. You will find yourself right at home staying here.

I stayed at the group site and it fit 8 families almost comfortably. we had a short walk to bathroom with quarter showers. The camp store is unique with random stuff, but also ice cream. It's also only a short walk to the lake and small playground. We all had water and electric and had a great time! The beach has nice sand out to 5ft deep and a floating dock. There are also 2 boat/ fishing docks.

The place is beautiful and the lake and beach were so nice. The maintenance guy was so friendly when our site didn't have power when we first arrived. When I booked the site I requested being close to the bathrooms since the 2 women camping were pregnant and we were put at almost the opposite side of the entire campground than the one open bathroom. Saturday, our neighbors on a seasonal site, felt the need to continue to call the staff and complain about us. We had my brother and his small children come for dinner and the neighbor complained about him dropping the kids off in the car and then picking them back up in the car, dispute them having people and cars coming in and out all day. The staff member who responded found it necessary to sit at our site to "babysit" that he was packing up and leaving while being quite rude about the one car per site rule. It felt very intrusive and targeted especially since the employee and the camper who complained stayed on the road talking about us while my brother packed up his kids. The camp store is only open about 3 hours a day which is pretty inconvenient. I found the campground to be less than friendly in general. Otherwise the property and sites are wonderful.

Management was very laid back. They have all the amenities. Loved swimming out to the dock. Sites are a bit close together, but we were lucky enough to be placed near other concert goers. Would definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.

The beautiful lawn & water access across from the campground was the only positive. Poorly manicured site, had to remove several tree branches just to pull into our site, not to mention the stench of sewer the entire weekend throughout the campground.

Wow I'm from Florida and when I arrived it gave me a chill. This place is like going back in time! I live in Florida and you don't see a place like this. It was like Chevy Chase was going to walk by, I don't mean this to be funny, it was a place I thought as a kid that a camp ground should be, but you have a lake with a swim platform, they offer seasonal yearly use, reasonable rates. Everyone was friendly, grounds were clean, private cabins surround the lake which makes it a picturesque place to stay. Large treed lots, clean. There is a huge rock by lot 51 that the kids try to climb up it. Highly recommend and I will be back!! Thanks for the Great time!!

Loved it..extra helpful, friendly staff/owners. Beautiful scenery, adorable store, porch, & laundry accommodations. Great firepit and very clean site, but needed a little vegetation maintenance, as we had poison ivy growing onto our site, even near hook-up and table. Had to be extra careful, making sure the dogs didn't go near it, and that we didn't accidentally brush against it while connecting/disconnecting. Otherwise, very nice and dog friendly! Rustic and beautiful. One thing we would've liked better was if there had been fewer permanent campers, or to have short- termers (like us)in a separate section. The long-term campsites looked messy and piled with junk, making it feel a little trailer parkish, as opposed to a campground. No place is perfect, but this place was very nice. Overall, we loved it and hope to get back there again.

Camping area across road from lake and the office. Very nicely wooded area and the sites are fairly level with all the amenities. Not big rig friendly as they have a lot of trees, so many that they really could trim up or cut down a few for easier maneuvering. We enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely loved my time here. You can tell the owners as well as the seasonal campers consider each other family. I'm happy to say they welcomed me and my six friends with the same affection. What a great find.

Such a blast, lake was clean, prices at the store were reasonable and they were quick to respond to our needs. They have boat and kayak rentals which was great too.

Clean, fun, and easy to enjoy. Access is a little less than idea, there's a long winding road.
