I'm very happy I switched from my previous vet in Ashland. Rumney Animal Hospital took a very different approach to a problem one of my dogs was having, and not only did it make more sense, but it appears to be working well. I have much more trust in this place than the one I left.My dogs also seemed to handle the visit better than other places. There was no cowering behind my legs, barking, etc. It seemed the entire visit went smooth and less stressful for my dogs. I also liked the way they did the visit. They first sat with me to determine if there were concerns I had with my dogs. Then, at the end, they sat with me to discuss what they found and provide advice. No rushing me out the door.As mentioned earlier, their approach to resolving the issue my dog was having was to start with a diet change BEFORE going to medication to rule out potential problems instead of just writing a prescription right away. It worked so far.Regarding prescriptions, this place had them on the shelf, making it possible to walk out with them and not have to go through some online pharmacy. The previous vet didn't do this.Easy 5 stars.

I cannot say enough about how amazing this place is! I had just moved to the area and figured my dog Max needed a local Vet. He is notorious for biting and shaking and all the anxiety while being at the vets. To my utter surprise, he loved it here! The staff were all extremely professional and loving towards him. And the doctor even got to cut his nails (which he usually has to be muzzled for) We love Rumney Animal Hospital!

I’ve been going to Rumney Animal Hospital for many years. I currently have 5 dogs and 1 cat and I’ve even brought them a chicken to care for after she was attached by a fox! Dr Sue is fabulous with the animals and us humans too. I’m always well informed when one of my fur babies needs special care and they always call to follow up and check on their patient. I fine them very affordable too. The whole staff here is professional, kind and caring and I feel blessed to have them as our family vet.

Our first visit to Rumney Animal Hospital was outstanding. Everyone there were very kind and professional. I recently adopted a rescue dog and had to bring her in for a checkup and receive two shots. My dog never cried, whined, or felt scared. They truly know how to make your experience easy for you and your pet.

I was so impressed at how they treated a rescue cat I inherited. Poor "Pretty Kitty" had not seen a vet in approximately 10 years. She was still in a mode of getting adjusted to being put in a carrier, 90 minute car ride, dropped off at a strange house with people she did not know, and the owner of 11 years disappeared. Knowing I wanted proper medical care for her, but wanted her to settle in her new home first. Putting her back in the carrier was traumatic for her, we both cried all the way to Rumney Animal Hospital. The assistant came in, picked her up and put her on the scale with no problems. She laid in the bottom of the carrier, actually calm. The doctor came in again she was picked up out of carrier, the doctor gave her the health exam, literally feeling every part of her body, administered the rabies shot, the assistant laid her on her side, the doctor cut her very long nails that reminded me of porcupine quills, my new kitty never said a word, never tried to get away, their expertise in handling animals gently was obviously conveyed by their actions and compassion, I stood in shock as I watched her be the perfect patient after the trauma of being put back in that carrier. So, I am so happy with the visit, and they worked with me on getting her caught up on appropriate shots, etc, the next 2 tests were scheduled separate. Hindsight being 20/20 because of their phenomenal expertise in dealing with animals, the first visit was harder on me than my new cat.

Took my dogs there once and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They were also honest and up front with an issue I had about moving with my dogs. Highly recommend them. Would definitely take my dogs back when in the area!

I recently moved to Rumney and needed new vet for my English bulldog. I am very impressed with this practice. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Doctor vas knowledgeable, pleasant and understanding. Everyone treated my dog and me great and they have. Price tag was very reasonable, actually the lowest I have ever recieved from veterinarian, but than again I came from Massachusetts.I would definitely recommend this practice.

The staff and dictor is very considerate of you pet and it's needs. My sister's dog was having trouble with his back end abd walking he is a good size dog and when ever she g as an appt for her dog when she arrives with Romeo they have put extra non acid carpets on the floor leading to the exam room

Dr. Stephanie is amazing. One of the very few (of not the only) avian vets in the lakes region. She takes the time to answer your questions in detail about your pets health.
