Great little local store. Staff is nice. Animals always seem happy & healthy. It is a large store and they have tons of products. They do carry lots of independent brands which is great, although, I do wish they carried more of the Fromm Grain Free Four Star line. I typically get my dog food elsewhere as they never have the main flavor we feed in stock (Salmon Tunalini) but I do like that they do carry some of the line - so its great when I am in a pinch to grab another flavor.

I recommend this place to everyone near and far! By far, the best pet store in the whole entire area. I will never shop anywhere else for my dogs. The different lines of products they have in the shop are unlike any other place I’ve seen and are always adding new things. Every single time I go, I’m greeted with smiles and positive energy. The owners and employees are friendly, kind, caring, compassionate, helpful and very knowledgeable. Go check them out! You will not be disappointed!

Awesome friendly service!! ♡I've had my parrot for 30+ years, and lately his beak had grown way too long. A friend recommended Pawtuckaway Pet, said they trim beaks, so I called and they took us in that afternoon. Sue, the owner, was very kind and gentle, she took him out back for about 15 minutes, and he came out a new bird! She did a fabulous job shaping his beak and trimming his nails, and the fee was very reasonable!While I waited, I picked out a couple of new dangle toys, some parrot treats, and enjoyed the other birds out around the store. They had plenty of room, many were out on top of their cages, or on perches, none looked stressed to me, they seemed content, preening and squawking.Great experience, nice clean, zen space, and close by... we'll definitely be coming back regularly. TY!

I absolutely LOVE everything about Pawtuckaway Pets! The employees and owner are knowledgeable,friendly, and so hands on with their animals. You are able to see the parrots out of their cage. If you are interested in a specific bird or animal , ask and you will be able to hold and bond with them. They also take in many surrenders. Some with issues some without. You can also bag your own bird seed. They have seed of all types.There are not many " Pet Shops" left where you can truly enjoy the animals. Where you can touch, hold and get valuable information about all living things. Thank you Pawtuckaway Pets!! I am so happy to have you for all my pets needs!!! ❤

Always have what I need! Swing in for only feeders. But super nice staff and clean. One thing I found cool. My kids wanted an axolotl which she had I didn't want to put together a setup I asked a package price for it's large setup and stand and I was able to do it it. And the deal was made. Ever since we keep going back. Helpful always!

My mom called these people today and told them I’d be running late to pick up some feeder mice, the clerk said they’d wait for me to get there but never waited. Closed the store, and refused to answer the phone. Now my snake has to wait longer to eat simply because these people cannot keep their word. They’ve been good about waiting in the past but today I’m giving a lower rating due to being careless and not standing by their word.

Always superb, they occasionally don’t have some tank parts I’m looking for but they are always my first stop before moving on to one of the bigger retailers. Shop local! Staff is 10/10, knowledgeable and very personable.

This store is always staffed by the most friendly people! They're always knowledgeable about inventory and many aspects of owning a variety of pets. They always welcome my dogs in when they're with me and a friend of mine recently bought a puppy. It's alot easier to choose toys/ treats that the pup will appreciate when he can come in and look around for himself! I always have a great experience with this establishment. I'm so happy that they're a part of my community.

They don’t only make sure you get everything you came for but they take the time to get to know their customers! Purchased 12 cans of dog food. Told was gonna get case price...really made me believe it too. Checked slip after I left regular price....and all I needed was a few cans but was convinced to buy 12/1cs. Really disappointed cause the person made me feel like I was getting a deal. Im not sure if I will shop here again.

Love this place, went there needing new dog food for my dog who has food allergies , two workers helped me right away ! They were amazing and helped me with things I didn’t know, came home couldn’t even walk in the door and my dogs nose was right against the bad, she ate her food right away, very thankful ❤️

Staff is usually friendly. That being said none of the animals are properly cared for. Almost every cage/encloser is too small. Just today I saw a huge rabbit in a cage it could barely move in. I also saw many exotic birds that were in too small cages. There was an African Grey in a cage that it could barely turn around in. Fish weren't kept properly, for example I saw a single neon tetra in a tank with other fish. Neon tetras do best in schools of other neon tetras. Yes they have many interesting bird species, but close to all of them have feather plucking issues due to stress. Bettas are also kept in EXTREMELY tiny bowls with blue water (???) There is potential here but the animal welfare needs come first.

Very good service and the employees were very helpful and kind. The thing is that they have low stocks some of the time and also are low on rats or feeders. I went there with the sole purpose of getting a rat as a pet and they had nothing. This has happened several times before when my brother had to get feeders for his snake, however, if you are only going to buy items or reptiles, they are amazing. They also have a variety of interesting rodents, but are always low or out of feeders.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. If they don't have exactly what you're looking for they will order it for you. They are knowledgeable in a lot of areas - food, care, small animals and more. May not be as big as a chain store but better in many ways.

I was walking around the pet store with my siblings when I realized all the things that where going on. I love birds (especially cockatiels) and I have LOTS of knowledge about them. When I went into the bird section of the store, I realized that they did NOT know how too properly care for these animals. In most of the cages there where dowel perches, mirrors, and all the birds had injuries. One bird I was interested in was even missing a foot, and couldn’t even walk. The cages where ok, but they had safety hazards in all of them. The only exhibit room that was ok was the fish. Not too mention, where exactly do they get these animals? Most likely mill farms, witch are not ok. Plz do not buy the animals here, u might feel bad, but I wouldn’t want too support this.

I've always had a pet, from dogs to red headed gamas. I could go to the big box stores for my pet supplies to save a couple of bucks but Pawtuckaway pet has customer service. You are greeted the minute you walk in and the staff is knowledgeable. Great store.

I have been doing my business with Pawtuckaway for about 8 years . We have purchased multiple pets and continue to shop there for all our pets needs from bearded, dragons, cats, hermit crabs and baby chickens. Excellent customer service and you can tell they care about the animals.

Staff is friendly but their posted hours are seldom correct. I find the store is often locked with the lights on well before posted closing time. I have made the 20 minute trip on a few occasions only to find the store closed even after calling earlier to verify the hours of operation.
