Absolutely disgusted with this place. I used to come once a month to get frozen rats for my snakes. I than noticed the tanks and care of animals were declining. So I thought maybe they just didn't get to cage cleaning that day well last 2 times my snakes refused to eat the rats from there. Fast forward about 4 months figured something was wrong with rats we would give it a bit and go back up. Well the goats hooves are very long. 1 poor goat had one back hooves with his hoof curled and toes on hoof criss crossed the other hoof had one side broken down to pad and when walking on it he would kick back leg up which clearly means it's painful to walk on. Go inside wanted to purchase some black soldier fly larvae well majority of containers filled with mold, the snail enclosure mold, the reticulated pythons tanks were disgusting and feces def. Not fresh. There is a giant snapper in a very very small enclosure. Needless to say we will NEVER be going back here and staff didn't seem to concerned.

Love this place... I got my Ms. Pickles here. She is a Panther Chameleon. When I got her, she was no bigger than my pinky finger. Which is about an inch and a half. She is now about 14 inches from nose to tail end. She also turned out to have beautiful colors. (See attached pictures)

I've been coming to NERD since I was a kid hiding reptiles from my mom under my bed. The staff is always very attentive and quick to answer any questions I have. They don't get frustrated when I call with questions that I can't get answers to online. The staff are all very knowledgeable on the topics I ask about and you can go and see that it's obvious these reptiles are treated like royalty in their care. We are very happy with our new family member. You can tell he was extremely socialized before we got him.

Did a pickup here with prime inc. They were there when I arrived, told me where they wanted my truck, got me loaded and out in under an hour. Lot is tight for a big truck but manageable.

Loved watching NERD on YouTube, so I visited the facility when I was in NH. A bit smaller than I pictured, not a lot of snakes for sale on display. They’re all in small containers that require staff to open for you. It’s fine if you’re going in to purchase something specific that they have, not great if you’re browsing & don’t want to bother a staff member every 2 minutes. Great selection of fish & awesome venomous room.

Love it goats chickens and fish to feed.You can feed frogs and a kookaburra also. Great place for kids to see exotic reptiles and staff is super friendly. They also have special times they do classes with hands on exhibits for kids.

Excellent place for your animal needs with very knowledgeable staff to answer any questions. Need to say hi to Jeremy the river turtle, my 5 year Olds favorite animal on display. In the fish room they also now have a massive Cayman enclosure that is sure to please

Very unprofessional and sells unwell animals. I purchased a one year old pied reticulated from them 8 months ago he came shipped in with multiple stuck caps and an injury above his eye. When I emailed them they insisted it was fine. Well two vet trips later I think it’ll now be fine. Well nope that was wrong 7 months later he has a massive amount of fluid building up under his eye cap (in the same eye with the injury) 4 vet trips later,5 different rounds of meds, and a 6 hour drive EACH TIME to go to a specialty vet at the university of Tennessee and over a thousand dollars later he’s still not better. Vet said the cause was PAST EYE TRAUMA. I’ve only had him for 8 months and he’s being kept in correct husbandry and I have the photos to prove it including vet bills. On top of that NERD couldn’t tell me when he was even born! not even down to the month, when he had eaten last, what he was eating, when he had shed last, ANYTHING. What kind of breeder doesn’t keep track of that?please don’t make the mistake I did and go with an ethical breeder.Edit: after 5 days I decided to reach out to them instead. They twisted it to make it my VETS fault keep in mind I’m am getting service at one of the top vets in the nation. The guy was VERY passive aggressive and said the care he received was ANIMAL ABUSE. literally makes no sense getting treatment for problems THEY caused is suddenly animal abuse? Due to the eye injury he had gotten at NERD he had to go under surgery yesterday for 1100 dollars adding up to 2800 dollars in vet bills in 8 months of me having him. Very disappointing. Saying that**BUYER BEWARE**Edit2: he also tested positive for parasites. He’s the only reptile in my care and couldn’t of possibly gotten them in my care.

I’d like to say thank you for the way your employee John treated my non-verbal autistic step son on Saturday 11/19/2023. He recognized that Boston was getting overwhelmed and went out of his way to make him feel comfortable and included. I appreciate his kindness and patience with him. Their father passed away a little over two months ago and things have been difficult since Boston doesn’t understand. But kind people like John made that moment for Bossy special. Please let him know we appreciated him for taking the time to make a moment for us a special one. We will definitely be back. Its a great place with awesome kindhearted people.Thank you again.Anna

Johny and the whole staff are very knowledgeable and engaging. My 7 year old daughter was nervous at first, but ended up having a great time during our tour. We learned about the medicinal purposes of snake venom while a Gaboon Viper was being handled. We held a caiman, fed an aquatic turtle, and held many snakes and lizards. We had a great time. I highly recommend NERDS for any of your fish/lizard/snake needs, or for a fun family tour. Kevin is the King of Snakes!

Great place to go and check out a huge variety of reptiles. Lots of fish and an amazing collection of poisonous snakes like cobras and vipers in their own room. Lots or rare specious. Overall, it was a great experience as always, as I stop by somewhat often.

We recently purchased a Reptile From Nerd. The customer service was amazing. They continued to call and let us know updates. They even called to let me know it was to cold to ship for safety they wanted to hold for one day so its warmer.Nerd has been a great experience purchasing our reptile.I would like to introduce Spyro to our family!He is settling in nicely.Thank you to Kevin, and all staff from Nerd that gave us an amazing customer experience.We can not wait to drive up and see your place sometime!

Edit: I need to add, he is extremely well tempered. Almost like my ball python, he is a little bit more hissy in his tank than she ever was. but he hasn't tried to strike me at all, not once. and once he's out of his tank, he's the sweetest. Very relaxed, no biting, no defensive attitude, no hurriedly trying to run and hide. So much like my ball python was. I believe this has a lot to do with the breeder and the way the snakes are treated. Like their comfort with humans must be passed down to their offspring. He's so calm and gentle even for a baby. I've been told they can be very defensive.Got this gorgeous Burmese python from them. I had to order online, and the process went very smooth. I went to pick him up yesterday at the FedEx hub and I immediately opened to box to check on him and let him warm up on me. Very healthy, beautiful. He's going to grow up to be a very big snake. They are expensive, but for a reason. I would definitely say this is a great breeder, lots of experience. Passionate about reptiles and they take great care of their animals.

Horrific company. Founded the spider gene which causes a severe defect in ball pythons and makes them have issues for their entire lives (which are not short). Continues TO THIS DAY to breed ball pythons with this gene and sell them. It’s entirely unethical both for the snake and for the person taking them home. They’re essentially getting a “sick” snake and the poor snake has a severe genetic defect so that they can “look cool”. HORRIFIC, ABUSIVE, UNETHICAL company. Get your reptiles elsewhere please!!!!

Everyone I interacted with was great, but I was astounded by how well socialized my new snake is. He acclimated to the new home/enclosure/me so fast! I highly recommend supporting these folks, as their passion for healthy and happy animals is unquestionable and unparalleled (in my experience)

I've been coming here for over a decade now, staff are knowledgeable and there is a great selection of animals . That being said, the prices for feeder rats have steadily gone up. I remember 10 years ago it cost 4.50 for a very long time for a small feeder rat, it's now 7 dollars I think. 4.50 is now the price of a medium feeder mouse.Also, it seems they've increased the number of staff, but there have been times that I'll be waiting around for like 20 minutes for them to get rats from the back.Other than all that, it's a great place

Visited the retail store today during a visit from the Midwest. Amazing variety of inverts, amphibians, fish, turtles and torts (Fly River!) venomous and large constrictor snakes - right there to appreciate. Totally respectable facility.....filled with team members feeding and doting on the animals...chopping fresh food for their fish, feeding frozen thawed and/or calcium dusted feeders, while we were there. On a Tuesday! All super friendly! Outside, we met some very well cared for animals, including an American Alligator, rhino iguana, beautiful chickens running free and many friendly goats. The trip was one for my books. If that wasn't enough, Kevin McCurley took the time to say hello to us and was friendly and personable as can be for as busy as he was. I so appreciated that and it made my freaking day! What a great experience. If you keep reptiles 'n such, they are an easy drive from the Boston area. They've always provided solid advice to me re: my gecko and colubrids, regardless of who responds to my emailed question. I'll continue to seek their thoughtful, expert advice!Thank you NERD! This place sells frogs not eating living with other dead frogs being consumed by bugs in the tank. Not knowing the conditions these frogs were in I bought 4 online which is $400 mind you for frogs that aren’t even 2cm after taking them away from those terrible conditions. I have a great setup plenty of food temp and humidity were right I even treat the water. I was only able to save 2 of the first 4 I went back to see if they could help me and instead the manager that looks like she’s a junky gets mad and says it must have been my care that caused this. The only thing they are willing to offer is %15 another frog the employee literally has to push through all the dead frogs to find one for me. After this terrible experience filed a complaint with the better business bureau and these people have the audacity to lie about the whole thing. They say I’m trying to scam them I’m the one out over $585. Never supporting this peta violation of a store ever again.

I called regarding a mystery snail. They didn't know if they had them. Said they thought so. I headed over with my 4 year old. We looked at all the different items and animals. They do have quite a selection. When it came time we needed help workers were just walking past me. I finally asked one guy for help, who asked another guy to help me. They didn't. I found another worker and asked them, who went back to the guy who was supposed to help me. I just asked where the mystery snails were. He said over here. He fished his hand around a tank and pulled one out. I asked what colors they had other than yellow, I asked about a magenta and he said that was a ramshead. Nope. It's a mystery color too. He said no, this is all we have. I just walked away. It was hard to even get help and there were 4 different workers in that fish room alone. I get a snail is not a big sell but when a Mom is standing there with an excited 4 year old, maybe act like you care about all your customers. Not just the one that happened to be buying a large amount for their new tank. I knew why I was ignored. Never again.

Looking for an Asian Water Monitor? Look no further. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with my little dude. I purchased him last spring and from day one, he was inquisitive, outgoing and FRIENDLY. Now over 1 year with me, he has only gotten sweeter by the day and has put on nice, slow and steady growth.He is also beautiful! I was told he was only going to get more magnificent with age and over the last several months, he's started to develop this gorgeous neon yellow color 😍he keeps getting brighter!He'll be moving into a new enclosure next week and I couldn't be more excited to continue strengthening my bond with him and watching him grow. My snake is underweight. When I asked for information on him, like when he ate last, what he eats, weight, and age, the girl @ the counter couldn't answer. So I sent an email asking for this information, as well as some sort of documentation proving his genetics, I was brushed off. I was told I should have asked that info while I was in the store, and that the screen shot I have of the add placing him for sale on line, is plenty of proof of his genetics. I responded explaining that I did ask while I was on sight and that my snake was severely underweight and ice cold when I was handed him. I received no further response from the facility.I find it very strange that I had to sign a sales agreement, and received a 7 day health guarantee, for the 2 fancy rats I bought while there but didn't have to sign anything and was given no paperwork @ all for the $250 snake I purchased.
