This place was absolutely gorgeous. First time snowmobiling and it was an awesome experience. We stayed at the Luke’s Lake view cabin and it had a beautiful cabin. Highly recommend. Staff was super friendly. But the cabins water heater barely worked for the tub is my only complaint. Definitely will visit again when my kids are older!

Visited for dinner but not to stay. It was fantastic. The service was a excellent. Food was excellent. We were seated in the bar room area it was very beautiful to be able to look over the lake. One thing to note, make sure you have a reservation. There's a chance you may get lucky if you walk in but most times it's very busy.

Location is beautiful and ATV Trail friendly which is great. People who are employed by Tall Timbers all seem very nice. We've stayed at the same LakeHouse twice now. It's quite nice except the living room furniture leaves one sitting on the frames of the furniture rather than on cushions as you should be. This really needs to be addressed, especially for the cost of the rental. Also, Hand rails are needed at each entrance and on the steps down to the dock, those steps are quite sketchy. Beds were comfortable and plenty of linens available for use which was very nice. No dishwasher was disappointing with the cost so high. Overall we thought it was charged a bit too high for what you actually got.

The north country was hand crafted by God himself, beautiful cabin for a romantic getaway even if your not into off roading or ATVs. Staff was great especially housekeeping guys, check-in desk folks are super pleasant, can't wait to go back and we'll have to take out on of the boats they have available. Nothing like having a fire roasting marshmallows and hearing the loon calls when the sun goes down. We can't wait to go back and for longer next time.Rooms: Rooms were clean and tidy, bed was comfy plenty of pillows and towels we had everything we needed.

We spent 3 days/2 nights in Pittsburg in mid-July and had a great time. The Tall Timber Lodge is really exceptional. You need to make reservations for the Lodge months in advance. When you book the Lodge, also book a dinner (or two) for the Rainbow Grille. It's the best food in Pittsburg. Back Lake in the summer is quite warm (for the North Country), as the lake is only 15 feet deep (on average). The owner Tom is very nice, and the receptionists, Jen and Corinne, were also very pleasant and nice to talk with. Go to Pittsburg, and you won't regret it.Also, the kayak and canoe rentals are free (unlimited use).

Wonderful, calm spot on Back Lake. Just hope that you don't have neighboring cabin-renters who are blasting the radio all day and night like we did. Most of the common areas are shared areas, so you won't likely have a fire pit to yourself when you rent a cabin. That was fine. Our experience in the seemingly idyllic location was pretty much ruined by the family next door blasting country music from 2pm until 10pm. If you're looking to "get away from it all," it's possible that you'll be disappointed. If you go not expecting peace and quiet and get lucky, you'll probably have a great trip. Like anywhere else, your experience will likely depend on the consideration of others.

Years ago it was good. Today its a high end fast food and bar...gin matini was so so and it took under a minute to make. For those of us that like martinis for their taste it was disappointing. I ordered an appetizer of trout and it wasn't worth it...of course I was asked how it was...being polite I said good with no emotion in my voice...the best compliments are unsolicited.

Family trip. Mom, Dad, sis and bro-I-L stayed here, my husband, and kids and I stayed elsewhere due to having so many dogs with our group, but i was for whatever reason asked for a review so: this place was great. Location, cleanliness, cabin itself, all was great. Utv/atv from house. In winter we rented a couple sled basically next door. Great place to be up in Pittsburg any time of year.

Good central location for visiting the Connecticut lakes region. Not sure about room prices as did not stay there.Chose not to eat there either as prices are high.Might be good meals, but plenty of other places to chose from and more moderate cost .Setting on Back Lake is gorgeous.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful Senior Midweek package and it was awesome. Included 2 dinners at Rainbow Grille, both of which were excellent and our waitress, Melanie, was the best. Stayed in the Evergreen cabin which was absolutely beautiful and fully equipped with everything we could possibly want. We enjoyed ourselves so much that before leaving we booked another package for October. Totally recommend Tall Timbers and the Rainbow Grille. Also want to mention how friendly and helpful Karin at the front desk was.

The views are beautiful, and the lodge we stayed in was lovely, with a bathroom on both the upstairs and the first floor. The dock and firepit were not easily accessible. The main lodge and restaurant were a bit challenging. They were not easily accessible and the staff were not always friendly, with a clear issue between the waitstaff and the kitchen; which lead to our reservation getting confused. The food was very good, but they couldn't serve our whole party at the same time. The gift shop was rather darling, but small and a bit tight, with a variety of goods.

Restaurant/bar used to be open 7 days a week breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only open 5 days and dinner only and no maid service. The restaurant was always a big part especially when dealing with below freezing temperatures. You were always able to take your family within 100ft and have the luxury of the lodge. Still labeled as a resort but more of just a place to sleep and shower if your looking for a place to ride and crash. Not like the old days, but have had alot of memories in the past

Tall Timber Lodge has got to be one of if not the nicest places to lay your head down in the Pittsburgh area. It is centrally located right on the water and is a immaculately maintained property. My only wish was that the restaurant wasn't so busy....when we were there they were booked into March. We'll definitely be back soon!

Best place to stay in the ‘burg! Beautiful cabins, amazing staff, and an excellent location! In the summer, paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes available for guests for free. You can rent boats for fishing or rent the pontoon boat for a beautiful view of the sunset. We have only stayed in the summer but the winter has ice fishing, snowmobiling, and other winter activities. Doesn’t matter when you visit because every visit is special and amazing! Heaven on Earth!

Five stars for the location. The restaurant requires reservations so maybe next year we can plan again. They have boat rentals and cabin rentals. They staff was very friendly and provided us with matches for our fire pit.We shall return here to learn more and enjoy what they offer.

Great place for winter sports. Snowmobile or snowshoe all day and relax at their top notch rainbow grille restaurant in the evening. Great food, helpful staff and reasonable rates.. worth the trip. Separate cabins available for groups or convenient rooms at the lodge. Try and get a room with your own bathroom. Have fun!

Tall Timber Lodge is great we have been going there for years. Let me tell you about this place. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms.Corine remembered I have allergies to chemicals so she had housekeeping strip the bed for us to put our own linen on it.Housekeeping was great. The room was exceptionally clean and we got daily maid service. Were do you get that now of days.Jen at the front desk was funny and personable.Jess the bartender makes the best cosmo's my husband has every had.The rainbow grille is a 5 star restaurant. They should definitely look at getting a Michelin rating. The kitchen staff was awesome. The hostess seated us early and Melanie our waitress was on point and attentive.I cannot say enough about this resort or its staff. Also they have dogs that great you when you come in. As a animal lover with dogs of my own this was a nice touch.

Great place to stay we rented the Cubs cabin. Very clean and plenty of room and essentials supplied. We brought our boat and we could use Tall Timber boat launch with our stay, the only issue was that they let cars park beside the building where the boat launch is making it pretty difficult to get in and out easily. The night attendant had an issue because we asked if the car could be moved.

First time here. It is very lovely. The vabins are clean, the outdoors are clean, and no issues with people who are next door to you. The views are amazing, the lake is clean, and staff are respectful and friendly. Highly recommend.

We went to the Tall Timber last week and it was suppose to be a special night since we were celebrating 34 years of marriage with Tall Timber was our honeymoon location. We brought friends with us that we were excited to show them your establishment. First we were told we needed reservations even in the bar! We have never been treated so rude or received such poor services. The food was marginal at best. We came in at 6PM and we're told we couldn't order our meals till 7. So we waited and at 7 our order was taken. We were not served our dinners till 8:20 when we asked where is our meals. Two meals were sent back since they were horrible. Pretty upsetting when you wait and see staff running around but not attentive. The bar was not busy with only 3 people and only one other table. We left at 9PM and your establishment will never see us again!! Sad that a great place has become the worst meal and service ever!!! Good Luck Tall Timber 😡

The timberdoodle cabin at Tall Timber Lodge was amazing. Excellent location on the south side of Back lake. The place was huge, spotless, with incredible north woods decor. A true cabin in the woods. Everything was in perfect condition. It is away from the Lodge, so best for your cooking unless you want to take a drive.Excellent home base for your own northern adventure. Be sure to take an evening drive up Moose Alley (Rt 3 toward the Canadian border) to spot some of those majestic creatures.

AWESOME!!!!!!! It was my husband and my first time there and we did the adventure package!!! Tremendous. Everything about Tall Timber Lodge is excellent. The room at the lodge, the staff, the food at the Rainbow Grille was always delicious. Hands to the chef. The Tavern is lots of fun where we met soo many great people. They even gave us unbelievable brown bag lunches in our package. We enjoyed the fishing, boating ,kayaking, and hiking that we did in our four days there. The views are just beautiful, a great place to escape and relax is Tall Timber Lodge. We will definitely be back.

The cabin we stayed in was stocked with all our needs. It was very clean. Even during COVID times without housekeeping, there was no problem getting supplies. A reservation was needed for dinner. My only comment would be that because of the limited dining options at this time, the Rainbow Grille should only be available to TTL guests first by reservation and then walk ins if any room afterwards. Also the tavern area should have been more of a walk in for guests instead of reservations. One evening we would have loved to have gone into the tavern for a drink and an appetizer but it was reservation only. I realize that they are dealing with COVID restrictions, but I think they could improve on the dining/tavern part.
