I cannot say enough good things about Pet Tails Rescue. First of all, Maureen is the most caring, conscientious person you'll every meet. She makes sure all of her pets are vetted and in good health when they are adopted out. She also makes sure the cat or dog is matched with the person or family it will be most compatible with. We have been very happy with our Timmy. We cannot thank Maureen and the Pet Tails volunteers enough for giving so selflessly of their time and energy to rescue these pets and find them a forever home.

I cannot say enough good things about this fabulous animal shelter. I have never met someone with a bigger heart than Maureen has. This shelter does excellent vetting, provides top notch medical care and quickly adopts out all of their cats and kittens 365 days a year. They have an amazing foster care system that helps all their kittens and cats have great experiences while waiting for their forever families. And there is a great Facebook community where owners of PTR animals post updates on their animals for life. I will hopefully adopt my cats here and only here from now on out. They gave me my soulmate Belle

My Mom adopted Rosie from Pet Tails Rescue today and it was such a comfortable and relaxing process. Maureen was awesome and it is very evident that she truly loves all of these cat's and kittens! I highly recommend adopting from Pet Tails Rescue!

We bought (2) brother kittens American short hair and they are amazing. She received them from Virginia where they were slatted for euthanasia. Amazing addition to the family. Highly recommend PTR as she loves what she does! Papers, shots and spade included. Look at the guys!♥️

DO NOT ADOPT FROM PET TAILS RESCUE. My husband and I waited 7 years, until we were in our forever home and in a financially stable place, to welcome a sweet bonded pair of kitties into our family. I had brain surgery in January of 2022 and was home, mostly on bed rest. We decided this was the right time to get kittens as I had a long journey towards recovery ahead of me and we were both home to be present to help get our kittens acclimated to their forever home. We corresponded with Maureen a number of times until we saw a pair of brothers, 3 months old, who we were interested in meeting. Upon meeting the kittens and Maureen, she disclosed to use that one of the kittens had a fever in recent days but was cleared by their veterinarian and was in good health, as she put it. In for following days…and months…our lives were turned upside down. BOTH of our kittens were DEATHLY ill within 24 hours of coming home. They came home on a Friday, became very sick, we reached out to Maureen and she advised we wait until Monday to take them to the vet. THANK GOD WE DIDN’T. We took both kittens to the emergency vet in Meredith, NH, who saved their lives not once, but twice that weekend. One kitten (who was cleared with good health by Pet Tails Rescue’s veterinarian) had a fever of 106.1, the other had a 105.3 degree fever. A DEATHLY HIGH FEVER FOR BOTH KITTENS WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ADOPTION. We spent a total of $500 for their adoption that Friday, by the following Monday we had spent over $1500 at the emergency vet in Meredith, NH. Maureen offered to give us back half of the adoption fee, a mere $250, and told us this is something she really shouldn’t do and wouldn’t be telling the “board” of the agency as it was against their policy but she wanted to do so out of the kindness of her heart... We did not accept her offer, we were disgusted that neither Maureen or the Pet Tails Rescue agency could recognize not only the financial burden this caused our family WITHIN 24 HOURS OF HAVING OUR KITTENS but also the heartache and sadness for our kittens as they continued to suffer with illness after illness. Our kittens were put on multiple medications and became more and more sick over time. Within the following two months, our kittens went for a total of 13 veterinary visits. One of our kittens made a healthy recovery. Unfortunately, our other kitten passed away on March 16, 2022. PET TAILS RESCUE DID NOT TAKE CARE OF OUR KITTENS WHILE THEY WERE IN THEIR CARE, THEIR STAFF AND VETERINARIAN NEGLECTED TO PROVIDE OUR KITTENS WITH PROPER CARE. BOTH OF OUR KITTENS SUFFERED AND THEIR NEGLECT RESULTED IN ONE OF OUR KITTENS LOSING HIS LIFE. We will forever be saddened by our experience with Pet Tails Rescue and will forever wish that our sweet baby boy got to live a full, healthy life. But unfortunately we have to now live knowing we have him the best care we possibility could while he was with us.

Maureen never returns your call. She sold me a cat with ring worm and still needed additional vaccine shots. She also over charges. Website said $250, she charged me $300 and told me she had just raised her prices. (Sure she did) $300 is a lot for a rescue. Go to your local SPCA instead. Healthier cats and more affordable. Plus they get back to you.

I don’t recommend this place at all! She changed her price when picking up my kitten! She also sold us a kitten with ringworm and weepy eyes! She said we can return said cat but that was all obviously we loved him and got him help! He died today -he had FIP= feline infectious peritoneal. We got him in January he was 7 months!
