This is a great alternative to the big box stores. Friendly people who know their products and how to use them. Huge selection at fair prices. My go to spot when working on my son's house in Newbury.

LaValley's building supply has most everything for your building needs and a very knowledgeable staff. As a contractor in the same area they have been very helpful to me and always provide quality materials and delivery options. Tool prices are a bit higher than big box stores.

Your hometown hardware and building materials store that holds up in today's market. Find what you need with competitive prices. Get the quality that is sorely lacking in big box stores. Do you realize that high end brands make special products that are only sold in the big box stores? These "special" products, like appliances, have the good brand names on them but are made with cheap parts. You won't find that skimp on quality at LaValley. I recommend this place.

The store is only as good as it is presented to the public by its service. I have yet be disappointed by Newport's LaValley's hardware when looking for DIY repair items, specialty hardware, and general hardware supplies. The biggest difference from most other hardware stores and the Newport LaValley's is the people. I have never been made to feel anything but great when talking and seeking help from the folks there. The prices are fair, the products are quality and not budget "get-you-by" knockoffs that only bring frustration. It is hard to find hardware stores where they have folks that actually know about more than what they can search the web for, it seems they actually train people to communicate with the customer with more than a basic retail rant after they greet you. They all seem to know where things are located in the store and if they don't, they are able to find.it emmediately. It always seems that when I can't find something, LaValley's has it. I have always been satisfied there.

First rate lumber yard with many great people to help. Always wish the salesmen could finish the transaction but no, you have to go to the cashier. Seems like a waste of manpower and certainly not expeditious. They have just about everything you need.
