Our family can't speak highly enough about this rescue and the staff. I emailed four rescues one night due to needing to find new homes for my mom's sweet dogs. It was a difficult situation as they'd been with my mom for 2 yrs and the first time they'd known love in their 7 years of life. They had a lot of trauma before going to my mom. Due to mom's health issues, we needed to act quickly & we needed a home that checked all the boxes. Second Chance was the only rescue to reply, quickly I might add, and continued to respond through the whole process. They placed a courtesy post on Pet Finder and I'm happy to report the pups went home with an amazing family yesterday, all because of this facility's heart and love for animals. We cannot recommend them enough!

My husband and I had to make the impossible decision to rehome our beautiful three-year-old. Great Dane Mabel, due to conflicts in the home with our other dogs. Mabel is a loving, playful dog, but just needed to be the queen of her own castle. Second Chance Ranch helped us with a courtesy post through Petfinder and we were able to find Mabel a loving home with a family who will care for her and appreciate her as much as we did. They screened applicants for us and sent along the applications, making the process so much easier than it would’ve been if we’d tried to do it on our own. We couldn’t be happier with the help we received. Thank you so much!

We can not say enough good about this place and each staff member. We dropped our dog off for ten day boot camp. I was nervous at first as we had some issues to work on. But my nerves soon went away. We got several reports and photos each day explaining what our pup was doing. At the end we received a very detailed document on her behaviors and how to handle any situation I could think of and then more. We could not be more greatful. An amazing organization that I would not hesitate to recommend

I support and love Second Chance Ranch Rescue, which is a remarkable privately funded dog rescue organization nestled in New Boston, NH.The mission is simple yet profound: to provide a second chance to dogs who have been lost, forgotten, or misunderstood. What sets them apart is their unwavering commitment to reducing adoption return and adoption rate through a meticulous adopter evaluation process. Every dog that comes to the ranch receives not just shelter but also the nurturing care, socialization, and training they need to thrive at the rescue and in the real world so they can be the best versions of themselves when they connect with their forever person or family. At Second Chance Ranch Rescue, they firmly believe in the power of education and community awareness. They strive to debunk misconceptions surrounding certain dog breeds, particularly so-called "bully breeds," and advocate for their fair treatment and adoption. Too often, these incredible souls are unfairly euthanized simply because of misunderstandings. This amazing organization is dedicated to changing this narrative. However, despite their tireless efforts, adoptions and adoption rates are currently at an all-time low. They urgently need our help to spread the word about their organization and the wonderful dogs they have in their care. In addition to their rescue efforts, they also offer a certain number of courtesy postings on their Facebook page to assist in rehoming dogs in need. It was through this avenue that I personally discovered Second Chance Ranch Rescue. An immediate family member unexpectedly passed away and left behind an older slightly misunderstood dog that we heartbreakingly cannot take. Second Chance Ranch Rescue has been there to offer courtesy postings, advice, listen, meet, and comfort us through this time. If it wasn't for them, it would make a sorrowful and heart wrenching time even worse.I implore each of you to consider shining a spotlight on Second Chance Ranch Rescue and the invaluable work they do. By amplifying their message, you can help draw awareness to their mission, organization, and most importantly help the deserving dogs in their care that desperately need help. With your help, an incredible difference can be made in the lives of these remarkable animals and the families they long to join.

My Grandfather's health has been getting worse lately and he was unable to care for his senior pup Shelby. SCRR went above and beyond to help get me in touch with potential adopters and I can happily say that Shelby has found her new home with a big yard and a new pup for her to be friends with as well. Thank you so much to everyone at SCRR, we couldn't have done it without you!

I made no contact with them. I'm ISO a rehab for a young put who was given a rough start. She's in some trouble we have about 7 days to save her. My brother put so much work and love into her. It's a heartbreaking situation. I did some research and found this rescue, but their website says that they don't have space for a behavioral dog right now. I did get the impression that they occasionally do though.

Second Chance is different from any other rescue I’ve read about or encountered. My experience with them has been nothing short of amazing. Not only do they really go the extra mile to make sure their dog(s) are a great match for you, but also for existing pets. The dogs are fostered in their own home. So they work with, and personally know, each dog they are adopting out. They use their own money and personal time to invest in training and socializing in a way that benefits the dogs to the highest level possible. And their help doesn’t end after the adoption day! They are there to answer any and all questions about behavior and have a specific integration process made to fit your lifestyle and situation instead of making strict unchangeable rules, which sometimes keeps the majority of people from getting the chance to successfully adopt if they don’t fit into one tiny criteria. They go out of their way to make sure each step is understood and is able to be carried out by everyone involved. It is a wonderful and personal experience I wish everyone could have when they adopt. They want the best for you and your new family member and want to ensure success for all involved! The honesty and love put in by the staff is so refreshing. They let you know how to put the work in so you can have a happy healthy rescue dog! They also offer training and help if you were to encounter a problem later down the road. I really can’t say enough good things about them. Thank you Kristin, Cam, and Shannon!

The team they have are so knowledgeable about all the dogs they have and truly want each dog to go to the right family! Our Ralph was the third dog we met with with them, us and our dog all immediately fell in love. They put a lot of time, energy, and love into all that they do for the dogs they shelter!

I adopted from Second Chance Ranch Rescue back in 2018 and i may be biased but she is the perfect dog to this day. I just recently took my other pup (who I didn't adopt from them) to bootcamp with their team for reactivity toward other pups. I learned so much and so did my pup! I learned how to distract him in stressful situations. I learned that his reactivity is anxiety based. And I learned that he is just picky and will play or want to be around other pups when he wants to and that we just need to teach him not to lash out when he sees another dog. Before the bootcamp sessions he would immediately react when he saw any dog on leash and would seem very aggressive and to me it looked like he wanted to attack the other dogs. After the 6-8 week sessions of bootcamp he has been able to play with other dogs with zero reactivity and he is gentle when telling other dogs to back off and he just needs some space. I am so grateful for the Second Chance Ranch Rescue and all that they have done for him and I.

They rescue dogs and retrain those that need it. Then find a perfect home placement. What a noble and caring goal this rescue has. I highly applaud them.

Kristin has been wonderful to work with in our search for a sweet, cat savvy dog. She has taken the time to understand what kind of dog would be the best fit for us and our lifestyle.During our initial “sleepover” with one of her rescue dogs, Kristin sent us with everything we needed - including a therapeutic dog bed, large bag of food, leashes and even some dog sweaters! Although the dog didn’t end up being a good match with our two cats, Kristin was very supportive and shared plenty of advice on how to try to integrate them.Highly recommend Second Chance for all that they do to support rescue dogs! ❤️🐶

Kristin & Cam are so great with the dogs and I am always comfortable and excited to drop my fur baby off knowing he is in the best hands. I would not feel comfortable leaving him any where else. She is always sending updates & pictures and videos of the dogs working on different socialization skills or them playing in the pond and grass! Before sending my dog here for "camp" & boarding he came here to work on his socialization and reactive skills and really think it changed his life (& mine for the better). Looking forward to going to the ranch for many more visits!

I had been searching for a dog on petfinder for a year and was going to call it quits when Tanner a Golden retriever mix was a stray from Mississippi, came up and we knew he was the one. We drove 2 1/2 hours for a meet and greet with him and the moment Kristen brought him out of the barn we were ready to get him home. Kristen had us stay to visit with the other adoptable dogs for awhile to be sure. And we were!Anyone who is considering buying a designer dog think twice and save a life. Tanner was 600.00 as opposed to 1-2000 at puppy spot. So put what kind of dog you are looking for on pet finder.

Second Chance Ranch was incredible. My Teddy came to me healthy, well socialized, on his way to being house trained, and many items that made our transition very smooth.

They truly care about both the physical and mental health of all their dogs. They don't just get them and ship them off. They work on socialization skills and basic obedience and they're adoption process is great they really take the time to make sure that you will be a good fit for a dog. I love these guys.

Huge thanks to Kristin and Cam for giving us the privilege of welcoming Maleny to our home after the recent passing of our much loved cattledog, Cooper. They did a fantastic job getting her prepared for her new home and I'm happy to report that she's doing great. Can't recommend Second Chance Ranch Rescue highly enough. Thank you!
