We recently adopted a new dog. The staff took time to ensure that our current dog would work well with our new puppy. Their experience helped in identifying if the dogs would be compatible We experienced no problems and now both are doing well together

Through out my life I, have been adopted many cats and one dog through your organization. You're amazing. I always tell people who are looking for a fur baby to go see you. I can never thank you enough for the sweet babies 💓 Thanks, to you, I've had some very special babies. This is Mimosa, she was 5-6 years old when she adopted me I gave her a very loving, warm, safe home for 7-8 years. She was very spoiled and ran our home with a fuzzy paw. 🐾 On November 14th she was safe in my arms as she crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈💝 😭 This holiday season is not the same. She's not laying by the tree 🎄 talking and burring to it..I miss her so very much 💔My warmest wishes filled with love, Jane 💝p.s. She was a huge Sir David Attenborough fan! She could have been in a coma but as soon as she heard his voice she was wide awake and watching his program💕

I adopted ‘Carlos’ the kitty this past August 2023. On NH Humane Society’s website, he was listed as “loving, playful, and friendly with all creatures four legged and two”. -I’m paraphrasing here but that’s essentially what it said.Unfortunately I was lied to, as he is not friendly with other animals and required a lot of time to get to know his Yorkie sibling and my other cat. This was not my biggest issue though. It turns out that he was not litter trained, I learned this after he took a steaming DUMP on me while I was sleeping! (This happened twice). He also likes to urinate in my closet or on any pile of clothes. There are other minute issues with him, but the point that I’m trying to make here is that NONE of them were made aware to me.this could have gone very poorly for him if it were anyone else who adopted him, because you were not honest and upfront as a business. You are lucky that I am an avid animal lover who believes that when you make a commitment to an animal, it lasts for their entire life. I am determined to work with him and love him endlessly.

I just want to thank the sweet and compassionate staff for allowing my best friend of 12 year to pass over with love and dignity. They made the worst experience, to lose a loved family member, the best they possibly could. Thank you for being so kind to my fur baby, and myself. It is truly appreciated.

A few weeks ago, I adopted a four month old male kitten. He is a wonderful and loving addition to my pet family! The lady who showed me around was excellent! She allowed me to take my time to ensure I brought home the right pet. Also I appreciate that this shelter does not age discriminate. In addition, clean and animals well taken care of.

My mom and I adopted our kitten Leia (formerly Checkers) back in October after having adopted another kitten (Harry) a month prior. When we saw her online it was love at first sight and we knew she would be a perfect friend for Harry. The staff were fantastic. They were very polite and professional, helping make the adoption process smooth and being very informative when we had questions and concerns. I've been keeping in touch with Leia's foster mom, Ashley, who has been so amazing answering any of my questions that may come up. We can tell how much the staff love the animals they care for and want the best for them, and we commend them on the wonderful work they've done and continue to do.Thank you again New Hampshire Human Society! Keep up the great work!

I adopted two cats for my family. The staff were very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed and we made a good match. The two cats have become well loved members of our family and I cant imagine not sharing our home with them now. Our animals already were in good health and had shots etc when we adopted them. Which was a great benefit. I would greatly recommend adopting here!

The Laconia humane society is nothing short of amazing! They have a loving, passionate staff that truly cares about each and every animal. We went in looking for a cat to add to our family and the staff were helpful, knowledgeable, and super nice. They answered all of our questions and helped us to find the perfect fit for our family. Our cat, August has brought us so much love and happiness, we are forever grateful to the humane society! I could really tell the staff cared for the animals because they were sad to see August go, but also happy to see her placed with a family. I highly recommend visiting and checking out the animals they have available for adoption!

The staff at the NH Humane Society are kind, knowledgable, and helpful. Visiting time with the dog was not rushed. As a first time dog owner I had several questions, and all were answered thoroughly. The adoption application had many thoughtful questions for me as well, to make sure the pup's personality would match my own. I couldn't be happier with the process and with my new buddy Chip.

I have adapted several dogs from the NH Humane Society over an almost 20 year period. My newest one, Huey, was just a couple of months ago and he is the light of our life. He is stepping in for my buddy of 13 years, Bailey, who also came from the Society, who passed in 2019.In all of our dealings with the Society staff has been very positive. Always friendly and welcoming. They treat all of the animals in their care as their own personal pets. They make the process of adapting very pleasant while they make sure the pet is going to the right family. Having just gone through the process of finding another buddy the Society’s staff has always been the go to people for me.

We adopted from the Laconia location a scared little pekingese. Her name is Ivy and my best friend. The folks at the shelter were wonderful guiding me through the process and so attentive with making sure we were the perfect match. Facility was very clean folks were helpful and friendly. Also understanding since I traveled over an hour to first meet Ivy and make sure she wanted to adopt me. Then to bring the family to see how she would react. Staff was very informative about her behavior some of which was from fear and some from her personality. So thankful

The staff are amazing and full of love for these animals. They took amazing care of my daughters cat today when he was getting fixed. They were very informative and even called just to let us know how he was doing and what was going on. These animals deserve loving homes and families and I hope everyday that they will be lucky enough to find it. To feel safe. Loved. Cared for. Part of a family. 💕

We adopted our cat, Captain Jack from the NH Humane Society in October and the entire experience was great from start to finish. Every staff member that we worked with was polite and professional and allowed us all the time we needed to find the cat that would be the right fit for our home. It is clear that the staff care deeply for the animals in their care and we will definitely return to this shelter when we are ready to adopt another pet in the future. Keep up the great work!!

I adopted "Hector" several months ago and we bonded right away. He is a terrier mix (mostly Jack Russell) so he is filled with lots of energy. I live alone and he brings life to the house and is a great companion. Amber and the staff at NH Humane were very helpful by giving me info about him and spending time with both he and I learning about each other before adoption. They helped me plan for bringing him home and giving me pointers to help make the transition easier. The people that work there are very caring with the animals and really get to know them. They are a great resource for anyone looking to adopt a pet!

I was looking to adopt another mature cat and went to the Humane Society to look for one. There were quite a few cats available and a few kittens for adoption. The cages were clean and and the cats seemed to be well fed. The staff is friendly and willing to assist. I found a beautiful Russian blue female one year-old cat that I have adopted. The staff was quite excited to see that the cat was going to have a new home. I would highly recommend going to the Humane Society to look for an animal for adoption.

We adopted our dog, Sadie, a few days before Christmas. She is the biggest sweetheart and we were so grateful to find her. Staff was wonderful and they were sorry to see her go. We met with several different dogs and the staff was very patient and helpful in matching us with our new best friend.

We adopted a kitty from the shelter. We were amazed at how passionate the caregivers are about their residents. They really try their best to provide them with quality living conditions and ensure a good home for them. The place was clean with appropriate spaces for cats and dogs, there were plenty of toys and other accommodations. Thank you Laconia humane society for being so kind to the animals who are our partners in this earth.

I have to agree with another individual’s frustration with this humane society. We submitted an application for a cat and they called asking for more information (left a message). Called back that night explaining my availability and didn’t hear back for the remainder of the week. Even my husband called THREE TIMES in one day, only to get their message machine each time. I called again today asking that they get back regarding that very same application. Nothing. Thankfully there are other humane societies that actually respond to phone calls the first time around.

My husband and I adopted Figaro, a less-than-6-month old puppy, two weeks ago, and everyone at the NH Humane Society was lovely to work with. The facility is beautiful and clean, the team was so helpful with introducing Fig to our original dog, and it is obvious how much they care about the animals and how their well-being is their top priority. Thank you all for your help and support.
