We loved our visit to Josselyn's Getaway Log Cabins! The Wilderness cabin was the perfect size for our family, two adults and two kids. Only a few minutes to Santa's Village! Very clean and stocked with everything we needed, pots/pans/dishes/etc.Only issue we had was that the carbon monoxide detector kept going off during our last night. But that's out of the owners control. I called and left a message and they called me back within a few minutes and got it settled.Overall we definitely plan to come back for another stay! Thanks for a great experience!

My wife stayed here when she was 18 and she told me about this place. This is nestled down a road off the main road but very easy to find. When we got there it was very quaint and rustic. We stayed in Brookside, we enjoyed the wooden swing on the front porch and how quiet it was. When we walked in it was very clean and everything was there for you to use if needed. This cabin we stayed in had a grill to use and a fire pit if you wanted to have a fire. This is really an awesome spot to stay if you are in the area !

We had a great experience at the Wilderness cabin the end of August. Me, my wife and two boys. It was perfect size for 4 people, was clean, and had everything we needed. We felt we had the comforts of home while away. The boys played in the playground area and we wandered in the woods behind the cabin - lots of fun. Just minutes from Santa’s Village. We’re excited to come back again! Snog loved the front porch!

Truly a hidden gem! I stayed at the Loggers cabin, it was perfect. Everything you need to "getaway" with all the conveniences of home. Stove, Microwave, sink, small fridge, shower, TV, grill, firepit, you need it, it's there. All you really need to bring is food. I also like how they have a log book with past visitors experiences. The owner and employees were very pleasant as well. My only complaint is that I did not stay there longer. This place is literally 3 minutes from Santa's Village which was originally the purpose for our visit, but Josselyn's Log Cabins quickly became the highlight. We will be back!

Me and my whole family go to Josselyn's every year for my mother's birthday in early October. We have been doing so for years and it always a great experience! Usually, we enjoy spending time outside at the firepit in the evenings. This past year was super rainy but we still had tons of fun cozied up in the warm cabin playing games and chatting. Can't wait to go back next year!

We stayed at the Rocks cabin for the week of Christmas and it was magical! Although, it started with hiccups that were easily conquered. First, we live in NJ and my 6yr old wanted snow last year which NJ failed to deliver. So I booked NH for 2019 and the week prior to arrival talking to the owner, who's amazing, she informed me that they had no snow but should they get have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, which we have a front wheel drive Traverse, but there is snow shovel and bucket of sand on the porch and go in reverse. Upon arrival we had snow, YES, but the pin drop on Google maps was about 50ft from the driveway entrance, which at 5pm in NH carries the same amount of daylight as 3am, I proceeded to enter the clearing of trees that I thought was the driveway only to be stuck in snow 🤦‍♂️ BUT thankfully for the shovel and sand we were able to make it back on the road and to the correct entrance! The cabin was amazing, the kids had a great time on the playground, and we had a magical Christmas! Oh, and thanks, to a previous reviewer who gave 1*, my kids found random change throughout the place...Idiot. Should you read that negative review please note they were in the wrong since my kids found remnants. We'll be back again maybe another Christmas!

We love coming here, and have stayed at three of the cabins: twice at Loggers, once at Rocks, and this time at the newer Wilderness cabin. It was our first time bringing our son and sharing the experience with him. He loved it and has been telling me daily how much he misses it and wants to go back. The new owners added a playground which he loved. The cabin was well equipped. Grounds well maintained. Great place to stay.

My husband and I go away often. We are very lucky in that sense. We have stayed at many, many places in The White mountains/coös county. This is hands down our new favorite place! We stayed recently with our adult children and it was so spacious(polar Express cabin) and such a great place for the age rage of all of us(55-22). We loved it so much we came home and started to plan our second trip there! So now, instead of going to Florida for our Wedding Anniversary in aCouple of weeks, we are staying there again. This time with the dogs. The staff here is phenomenal. The cabin was so cozy and nothing was missed. Fully stocked and so comfortable. Spotless clean......very impressed by absolutely everything!

My family and I rented the polar express for 6 nights and to our surprise the owner called us and said we can get the 7th night free or one of the nights paid but we took the extra night instead which was awesome. We Absolutely loved everything about it and the time we spent there you truly feel right at home nobody brothers you at all and the owner is amazingly nice we’ll definitely be going back.

What an amazing place to stay! Beyond cozy, so homey and comfortable! Thank you Tara for a wonderful time! Everything we needed was there, we couldn't have asked for a better place to be!

We stayed at the wildwood cabin. We actually almost cancelled our stay due to some of the poor reviews about being charged a bunch of money after the stay but I'm so glad we didn't! They do have rules but nothing out of the ordinary and are super easy to follow. The cabin was beautiful and very spacious. It is close to Santa's village which was a huge bonus. Nice yard and spot to hangout outside. There is also a play ground on site as well. If we are down that way for vacation again we will definitely be booking with Josselyns!

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend. Plenty of room to stretch out by the fire after a day of skiing - even with 5 adults and 2 kids. The views of the Presidentials from the living room are beautiful. We saw a colorful sunset behind the mountains every night. The kids had a great time sledding in the field. Already making plans to come back and bring the extended family and rent a few cabins. Thank you for a great family weekend!

We stayed in the Workshop cabin and it was great. It has two rooms on ground level that were perfect for one couple each. There is also the loft upstairs with two double/full beds and one single that were great for the kids. One of the larger beds upstairs is in a room with a door that can be closed if more privacy is needed. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. It is a very short distance from Santa's Village (almost walking distance).

First, I would like to start off by saying that I have never ever left a review on anything before. With that being said, of me doing so, I feel I have a very good reason. My family has been going to these cabins for over 20 years. I consider it a second home. A place where I can debrief and have hands down the best time every single year.Since these new owners came alone, the environment had changed, but it was nothing that my family and I were concerned about as we are rule followers. All I am going to say is the stuff that we have experienced from our last stay last weekend is so incredibly saddening. We will never go back. With this being said, I am so grateful for all of the memories my family and I made here before the owners changed the vibes behind it all.I will gladly say that I loved this place and now it's time for a new chapter. Now it's time for the new owners to write a defensive note back :)

Posted Summer 2016: We recently spent two nights at The Rocks @ Josselyn's and booked our next trip before we even left. We enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere, the walks around the grounds, our campfires, and the chance to just relax. Our son loves his new walking stick that we purchased and especially loves the Mickey ears that were added to it along with his name. Due to my children's ages some of the cabins are not as functional for us at this time and some just have far more sleeping space than we need. The Rocks is perfect for us with two bedrooms and a bathroom on half of the house and a kitchen with dining area and living room on the other. Plenty of room for playing cars and trucks on the floor without being underfoot. The kitchen is separated enough from the living room so as not to feel like everyone is on top of one another, but close enough to feel that everyone is still together even when you are cooking.Pet friendly in most cabins ... FYI: The Rocks is not pet friendly.________UpdateWe just returned from a weekend away at The Rocks at Josselyn's. We have already booked two trips for 2017 and will be trying a new cabin each time ... we love The Rocks, but can't pass up the opportunity to try another beautiful log cabin. Please note: the reviews above were written regarding stays that occurred when the wonderful original owners (the Josselyn's) still owned and operated the location.________________________________Update and response to the current owner posting information on the number of times I have stayed - information that I did not choose to share.First, you said I stayed 10 times. Then you said I stayed 2 + 9 times ... 2+9=11Second, do you really think that it is good business to post private information (the number of times I have stayed there) online for the world to see? I can't imagine that behavior like this will win you any customers.Regarding if I would change my reviews based on the owners, I think your behavior has made the point for me.I do not currently (2023) recommend this business to anyone.

Our Family has been coming to Josselyn every year for nearly a decade. It has become a treasured tradition that we all look forward to more every year. Each year we come up with my sister's family, and our adult children for a peaceful weekend of being together. We have stayed in most of the cabins through the years, and find that they are all wonderful in their own different way. The cabins are clean, spacious, and have a super relaxing feel. The grounds are lovely! Our favorite is the babbling brook next to the cabin in the woods. The owner always remembers us and has been very kind throughout the years.

My family and I enjoyed our visit to the Jefferson area and our kids' first time to Santa's Village. We chose Josselyn's as most of the cabins are dog friendly. We stayed in the Hikers Cabin for 2 nights. It's nice that Santa's Village is located only a couple minutes down the road. The cabin is very rustic, but it suited our needs. My kids really enjoyed the ladder access to the loft bedroom with 2 beds. We put our Berner in her usual kids play pen in the kitchen area with linoleum flooring. It was a bit of a tight fit, but that's ok as the important thing was that we could include our dog with our trip. The cabin was equipped with a window a/c, a full sized coffee maker and a toaster oven. It also had a full size refrigerator and stove. The bathroom was decent sized. The bedroom downstairs had a full bed. The BR is a bit small, but my wife and I made it work. The property has a nice layout. Our cabin didn't have the most privacy, but that was ok with us. There are other cabins that are very secluded if that's what you are looking for. We enjoyed the fire pit with benches and table very much. There is also a kids playground on the property, so that was fun for the kids.We ordered takeout from the Old Country Store and Lancaster Pizza. Both were very good. My family ate breakfast at Grandma's Kitchen while I met up with a customer. The breakfast was amazing. When finished, we walked our Berner down to the nearby boat launch to look for wildlife. It's nice having multiple options within 15-20 minutes. The Old Country Store is located only 5 minutes down the road. It has a lot of deli options and also provides gasoline. The reservation process and check in and check out process was seamless. The unfortunate part is that it's all virtual, so there's no interaction with any physical people. We have no idea who actually owns and runs the property. It would have been nicer to have a person to actually meet and ask questions. I understand that during covid things change. This system must work for them and ultimately it did work for us.A big issue is all of the rules. We had to put down a $150 deposit and the only way to get it back is if we followed the long list of rules. That means sweeping up the place and wiping down all surfaces at departure. That also means removing all trash from the cabin at departure. We are always respectful of the properties we stay in, but we were really nervous that we would forget to comply with one of the rules and therefore forfeit our deposit. It looks like we got it back, so that's a relief.Overall, I highly recommend this property when visiting Santa's Village. We are definitely looking at visiting again next year. SV was awesome and with this property being dog friendly, it's nice that we can bring the entire family. Just as a note, Santa's Village does provide a kennel option on the property that we didn't explore. Josselyn's was within 5 minutes of SV, so I just left the park for 15 minutes to let our Berner out mid-day.

Josselyn's cabins was the perfect place for our family and the wedding party to stay for the weekend. The owner/manager went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It is the perfect set up for a large group get together. The cabins are far enough apart for privacy, but just a short walk to get to any of the cabins. The cabins are clean, well stocked and charmingly rustic. Each cabin has a fire pit, picnic table and wooden porch swings. The grounds are clean and well kept. Tara went out of her way to accommodate our dog too, and even let her out and took her for a walk during the wedding! The views from the area are stunning .Josselyn's is a gem, and we will definitely be back!

We love Josselyn's! We have stayed there for the past 5 years when we take our annual trip to Santa's Village. Our group is two families, with 6 young children between us, and the accommodations are fantastic. There is plenty of room for everyone, and the cabin is fully-stocked and spotlessly clean. The outside space is great, and the kids absolutely love the playground! The grill is super convenient, and there are extra propane bottles at the office which makes it really easy. The staff is super friendly and they really treat you like a member of the family. I could not recommend Josselyn's more to anyone looking for a cozy, convenient and reasonably-priced place to stay up north!

This was our third year to visit Josselyn’s and each year has been a wonderful experience. This year, we are grateful to the owners for working so hard to provide a clean, calm, and safe setting during a global pandemic. The cabin was spotless. The wifi was strong (which was so important for my kids to still be able to take their classes remotely). There was plenty of hot water.I missed visiting with the owners this year, again due to the pandemic, but hopefully, next year will be better for everyone.Check in and check out went smoothly. We so appreciated the opportunity to visit! Thank you for all that you do.

Had my bachelor party at the Christmas cabin in October. It was a good time except the owner was absolutely terrible. There was a blanket that accidentally hit the heater which burned a hole in it and we offered to go buy a new one and instead she charged us $50 for a blanket that was clearly very used and old. Apparently there were complaints that we were loud, yet no one came over and asked us to be quiet. We had a few guys stay later in the morning of checkout to clean up some more, and she charged us a late fee. Was not understanding at all and not the friendliest. Would not take your business here, there are way nicer cabins elsewhere. 1/10

We just got back from our first trip to Josselyn's. We spent a very relaxing week in the Logger's Cabin. It was clean and cozy. Loved the privacy and the walking paths around the property. We were invited to check out a couple of the other cabins which we did. We are now having trouble deciding which one to stay in next time. This was exactly the kind of vacation we were looking for. It's a great place to unwind and kick back. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely little cabins with their own individual charm. Very clean and comfy. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. They even put together a 3 ring Binder with Cabin info, things to do, restaurants, stores and more! Best part is these cozy cabins are not on top of one another. You each have your own grill and fire pit.I’ve been in over 10-15 different ones in White Mountains and Josselyn’s is the BEST!!

My nephew reserved the entire property for the wedding party and family ahead of his August wedding. We were blown away. Beautiful property, clean cabins. Tara and staff communicated the process, rules, and regulations clearly and concisely well ahead of check-in. She was flexible and accommodating. Several people in our group brought dogs. She kept her dogs inside and and said, Your dogs have the place for the weekend! Cabins are quiet and private, while allowing space for gatherings on the many fields, fire pits, walking trails, and open spaces if you are feeling social. We had so much fun we extended our stay through Monday morning, as to not have to rush out Sunday. We will definitely be back! Thanks Tara and Josselyn's Cabins!

Just returned home from our first visit to Josselyn's. We had a wonderful time over the last week for our stay in their Hikers cabin. Our daughter loved the upper loft area for her movie nights while Mom and Dad relaxed by the fire pit outside. The staff here are super friendly and were nothing short of amazing with the few minor problems we ran into during the week (sprayed extensively for bees when I let them know there was a good amount near the back door area, and they also quickly addressed a small plumbing problem in the kitchen for us as well). We have been searching for an annual getaway spot and sure feel like we've found it with Josselyn's. Thanks again and see you next summer!!

This was our second time staying here and it was just as wonderful as last time! We stayed in the Cabin in the woods with our daughter and puppy. Plenty of room and such a beautiful setting. Large back yard and a nice little brook out front that made relaxing by the fire or on the porch swing so much better. The office provided plenty of movies and games to enjoy. Don't expect much cell service or wi-fi reception as stated when booking the reservation. It was very spotty due to being in the mountains but it should be a time to put the devices away and enjoy nature! Tara, the owner was fantastic. She was very helpful with any questions and suggestions for the area and great to talk to! Whether you're coming to just relax for a few days or explore the area, there is plenty to do. Santa's Village is just a few minutes away and Josselyn's also offers pool passes to Lantern's to cool down on hot days. We will definitely be back!

Once again, we brought our grandchildren and our daughter for a vacation to Josselyn's Getaway Cabins. We look forward to this all year, and we are never disappointed! The cabins are cozy and comfy. The cabins and furniture were lovingly handcrafted by the former owner. We love that each cabin has its own theme. We have stayed in Rainbow South, Hikers, Cabin in the Woods, and our favorite, Christmas! Each cabin is private and has its own chair swing and fire pit! There is a playground, a field of wildflowers with mowed paths for running through, and a babbling brook to play in! Once we got the kids down, it was nice to have bonding time with my daughter around the campfire, relaxing and talking, looking at the stars (zero light pollution!). The staff is very friendly and accommodating! This place has every comfort of home! One minute from Santa's Village and easy drive to White Mountain National Park for hiking and sights! Just a wonderful experience! The children love this place, and we feel they are very safe here! Can't wait to go back!!

I absolutely love this place, the cabins are cozy and welcoming. They have everything you need so you don’t have to pack too much when you travel. This is my third time coming here this year and my fourth time overall. There is a fire pit and bbq at each cabin which our family always makes great use of. They also have a playground which our 2 year old absolutely loves. I find it impossible for anyone to come here and not have a great time. This summer we came over with a total of 8 teenagers and they all loved it. Josselyns holds a special place in my heart because it was one of the first places my husband and I vacationed. We plan on making many more great memories here.

I love the location but they really need to invest in the cabins more. Old styles are fine but the beds and couches are too old/damaged. They need to be replaced.Addendum:The couches are not comfortable. They are damaged. The mattress is more spring than anything else. I gave a four star review because we love the location and feel of the place. The lack of professionalism and utter BS, in your reply, just changed my mind. We will not return.

Amazing views , cabins are always clean , Great place to come with the family ! We’ve been coming for 3 years and it’s been wonderful ! Policies are enforced that are in contract and expected to be followed . Rule bending does lead to deposit forfeit . Best advice is to enjoy your time , respect the property , and obide the contact and you will have zero issues ! Don’t let the negative reviews deter you from coming !! We have had zero issues and have stayed multiple times as year for three years now . The owner was very helpful in recommending family activities ! She’s very easy to communicate with and get ahold of as well year round !!
