we stopped here on our way to nestlenook farm (also highly recommend). we were so surprised and happy that they were open in the middle of a snow storm. our waitress was kind and attentive. i got the buffalo cauliflower, it was absolutely delicious. my boyfriend got the french onion soup and the red fox burger, he enjoyed them both but highly recommends the french onion soup.Vegetarian options: buffalo cauliflower

Had an amazing meal here this evening after a day of snowshoeing and sightseeing (Littleton is SO cute). The haddock was fabulous and my favorite sides were the sweet potato fries, charred broccoli and gouda mashed potatoes. I also liked the mashed carrots and turnips but my friend did not. We split all that and it was too much food but delicious. For dessert we split the peanut butter pie (though it was a tough decision, carrot cake looked amazing) and it was divine. Everything was fantastic, including our server, Diana! Highly recommend!

This was mine and my wife's 1st time here as we were staying up the rd at the hotel. We just wanted a place to eat and figured this was a local hotspot and an average restaurant. Oh boy could I have not been so wrong! So it was hoping and parking was scarce not for a lack of it but Red Fox is clearly a very popular place. We got in and were instantly seated (awesome), we got a nice spacious booth, we were instantly taken care of and so far I was liking everything. The menu is one page front/back, after reading the options as there are about 10-12 choices for each time of day I noticed prices. The prices took me for a surprise, a little more then I expected but I had another surprise coming. I ordered the fire grilled salmon and 15-20 later it was placed infront of me. I've eaten from Maine to Florida, California to Chicago, N.Y and OMG this was easily in the top 5 meals I've ever had. The atmosphere is amazing, the service was exceptional and you can definitely bring a large group here. They have tv's galore, I did not eat dessert but the seem to have a little bakery loaded with amazing sweets. Definitely stop here if your in the area as the food is top notch and everything else will not let you down.

I stopped for a late lunch, ordered a chowder, wings and a fish sandwich. It was major hit or miss on food. Chowder and fries, fantastic, but fish sandwich tasted off. Won't be back.Kid-friendliness: Tons of kids here for lunch! If you don't want to hear screaming don't sit in the dining room.

All I can say is my tummy is sooooooooo full because I ate waaaay tooo much of EVERYTHING because it was soooooo delicious I couldn’t stop eating it lol. The food was delicious! We got the potato skins, but they were not your average potato skin. 😍 they had a delicious sweet sauce. The sirloin steak was tender and flavorful. There was ALOT of cheese! Yummmm. The homemade bread and butter was fresh and delicious. My husband got the garlic Parmesan wings. They were tender, juicy, crispy and flavorful. I got the pot roast which was like the perfect thing to go with the snow outside. The perfect winter nights dinner. The meat was sooooooooooo tender. The mashed potatoes were perfect. My husband got the scallops which he loved. They were cooked perfectly and the corn medley had a perfect fusion flavor. We also shared the brussel sprouts which were really delicious! Ohhh and you better believe we made room for dessert (well not really lol but we had to!) I had the chocolate Tarrin and my husband got the warm brownie. Both to die for! Was reasonably priced as well.

Wow, this place was recommended to me by a local. First, it's huge. I don't know what their seating capacity is, but its alot. It's beautiful and in a perfect location. That's the easy stuff. I sat alone at the bar. The other guest were very welcoming and included me in their conversations. Felt like I was at home. The food was tremendous. I got the mussel appetizer and couldn't possibly eat any more. But the best of the best was the service. Tessa and Andrew were on the bar, and everything was perfect. They were there when you needed them and were engaging and very friendly. I had a great time. I am definitely going back tomorrow night, as it's my last night in town. So looking forward to it.

We stopped in last night, Thursday October 19, 2023 after a very long hiking day. We asked and were immediately seated at a high top in the bar. The service was excellent, the bartender was serving the bar and all tables in the bar. She was amazing, friendly, efficient, attentive over and above! Our appetizer came out quickly and meals followed shortly after. Our food was delicious. We will definitely be back!

Nice place. HUGE! it gets really packed so go during slower times out be prepared to wait, possibly over an hour. Sometimes service is a little slow but always accommodating and friendly. We just went for a light bite. New England clam chowder, which was amongst the best I've ever had, and the spinach dip which we couldn't finish. Absolutely delicious!

Disappointing! After reading the raving reviews of this restaurant, we went in for a late lunch. The server was friendly, courteous, and efficient. The food, however, was boring. We ordered the baked French onion soup and the Buffalo cauliflower as starters. Both were quite good. For the entrees, we ordered the short ribs grilled cheese sandwich, lemon butter baked haddock, and the New England pot roast. All the entrees were bland. Service was exceptionally good.

Stopped in while camping around NH in November, had the New England pot roast and French Onion Soup, which was out of this world. The portions are huge, so there's plenty to take home for leftovers. If your a mashed potato with gravy person, this is your places, they were out of this world. Service is excellent and plenty of parking.

Most delicious dinner last night. We requested the fireplace room when we made the reservation and they honored the request. The atmosphere was homey, the food delicious and service was great. I had the baked Haddock, others in my party had pot roast, combo of tips and shrimp and lasagna. All were delicious. Will be back next time in the area.

A truly fantastic place to eat! Everything tasted wonderful. We went on a Friday for dinner, and the parking lot was packed. Seeing that, we were concerned about being seated. We were seated immediately, had outstanding service, and were served dinner promptly. I had the Pot Roast. It melted in my mouth and was cooked to perfection. Also at our table we had Steak tips and Grilled Cheese with steak tips. Sides include Gouda Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts. For dessert we enjoyed a great walnut encrusted Carrot Cake. Everything was delicious. It was the best meal for our trip! The Burrata Caprese appetizer was Amazing! I also had a great local IPA - Tuckerman Brewing Rockpile IPA.

This place was absolutely phenomenal. The waitress was very kind and beyond amazing with our son. The place was busy but the layout of the restraunt leads you to believe that it's not packed. Even though they were busy the food all came out in a timely manner and was cooked great!The starter of spinach and artichoke dip was huge and great for a bigger group to share. My wife's pizza was sweet and saviory. The Fox Smash Burger was delicious. They put spicy bread and butter pickles on it and when you first bite into the burger you get the sweet of the pickle that stands out and compliments the slight kick of the burger. Phenomenal, smash burger.

Quite honestly the best meal we've had on our 10 day trip. Food was plentiful, prices were reasonable, service was impeccable. Who needs better than that? Even with a serious wait, we were seated promptly, and greeted immediately. Our server Matt was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and extremely attentive. Despite how busy he and the other's were, he remained attentive and on top of his game. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and their cocktails. We will definitely return.

Wow! Honestly I was surprised at how great the food is here. The Bangs Island Mussels are giant and cooked better than most seafood restaurants in Boston. I ordered the red fox combo of ribs and steak tips. The ribs are good. The steak tips are fantastic! Same with the mash potatoes. My only knock on the restaurant is the lighting is way to dim.

It's a nice place. Service is good, food is good and it has a nice refurbished old building vibe. It even had a roaring fireplace. I had the pork chop. Done exactly as I asked, very flavorful. Gouda potatoes were great. My wife had the cottage pie, which you don't see on many menus. An overall nice experience.Parking: The restaurant has its own lot.

This place is consistently packed for a reason. When first arriving in the area and driving past the restaurant there was an obvious wait. Made a reservation for the next night!It is exactly what we anticipated. A great atmosphere, friendly and prompt service, delicious food! The cottage pie was amazing as were the steak tips. LOTS of tasty gouda mashed potatoes on the cottage pie, almost large enough to split! Also grabbed a peanut butter pie and small ice cream to go from the take out section. Such a cool option!

We went here for an evening, 6 person, reservation dinner during the winter months. The food was great and so was the service. This time we (2 people) went just for appetizers at the bar, and the food and service were still just as good. I'd definitely recommend coming here, whether it be for dinner, desert or just a few drinks. You won't be disappointed.
