Our 3-year-old labrador retriever started at White Mountain College for Pets through the 6-week lodge and train program and we have been blown away by Mike and his team's commitment to our dog’s progress and training and all of the resources that are available to us. The expert trainers have worked with our dog twice a week for nearly three months as a continuation of the training journey, which has been extremely important for our dog’s growth and ability to transfer his new skills to his home environment. We are especially grateful for the loving attention of our dog's favorite trainer, Aura, who has been a fantastic trainer for him and, just as importantly, for our entire family. She is a superstar and we couldn’t be happier about the relationship she has developed with our dog. While the price tag for training might look steep at first glance, the level of service that is offered at White Mountain College for Pets is extraordinary and a great value. We highly recommend them!

From the very first day, the staff at White Mountain College for Pets has been so welcoming & eager to help. They truly care about all the pets they encounter. We enrolled our puppy, Teddy, in the Foundation Obedience class with such positive results that he has since participated in several other classes, including the Board & Train program. He absolutely loves his time there. In fact, from the moment our car turns into the driveway, his excitement cannot be contained! The entire staff welcomes Teddy by name with warmth and kindness. Thank you, White Mountain, for providing such a wonderful & positive environment for pets and their people!

The team at College for Pets was wonderful to work with from the beginning and the customer service went above and beyond any expectations. I reached out for advice regarding training my parents Golden, Brewster, as a service animal. Their response was fast and soon after I had a phone consultation answering all of my questions. After a six week board and train, Brewster has become much more manageable and my mother is able to walk him without any pulling - something we never thought possible. During his time away, we were sent pictures and videos and were constantly reassured that he was in good hands. We look forward to continuing working with the team and for Brewster to develop more and more skills!

I’ve been boarding my dogs with Mike for years when we’d go on family vacations and have always felt so comfortable our dogs have been very well cared for. When we got a new puppy in ‘20 I took some puppy classes and then enrolled my pup in Day Camp. I couldn’t be happier with every service we’ve used. The whole group at White Mountain College for Pets is awesome. When I drop my dog off in the morning for day Camp he pulls me through the door and clearly couldn’t be happier to be there. That says it all!!

AMAZING!Our kennel we usually use couldn’t take our dogs one week so we called here and they took our pups with open arms! The staff was so polite and knowledgeable. We now have a new kennel and it’s with white mountain college for pets. They are absolutely amazing!

I went to WMCP because I had a dog/people reactive dog. He now eagerly attends camp to socialize and PLAY with other dogs! My vet, groomer, friends and family all comment on what an obedient and well behaved dog I have and he is always welcomed in their homes! That came about after attending training classes. I enjoyed the classes as much as my dog did. But more importantly to me, I never worry when I need to leave my dog for boarding. I know he is getting the best care from a loving, caring and knowledgeable staff. I am grateful I found WMCP

We took in a second rescue dog, rather unexpectedly just over 6 months ago. We already had an elderly rescue, so we were used to a lower energy, well-behaved dog. Our new rescue, Nessie, was a basket case! Not only was her behavior out-of-control, she is a mix of strong breeds. Every trainer I contacted (approx. 3) told us to medicate her or put her down. We were told that she was aggressive and dangerous. I reached out to College for Pets as a last ditch effort to see if we could help our new rescue that simply didn't seem to understand how to interact with people or a home setting. At 2 years old, this dog didn't know any basic commands, had been raised in shelters and rejected by 4 previous families. Mike did not turn us away and even spent more time than we scheduled to do a very thorough evaluation of Nessie. He was able to trigger all her reactions and determined that she simply had never been shown how to handle new situations so she was anxiously scared. Mike gave us activities to practice at home to help her become more confident and secure, and even helped us train her to ring a doorbell when she wants to come in from outside! (She used to jump at the door and scratch it all up) Nessie has been with us for just over 6 short months and is a completely different dog. Mike believed that Nessie's behavior was a byproduct of her conditioning and lack of positive exposure to new experiences, and that with time, patience, consistency and practice, we could help Nessie experience life in a fulfilling way. Well, it is working! Nessie has grown by leaps and bounds - and so have we :-) Thank you, Mike, for doing what you do through College for Pets.

We have used many services from White Mountain College for pets. Where to start, puppy classes, obedience foundation, grooming, lodging plus. The facility is super clean. Staff is friendly and attentive. By attentive I mean listening to every single “important detail” about Sobaka’s past, present and future life with out a single eyeroll 😎. The instructors, especially Sue and Karen, are super knowledgeable and offer great tips just for Sobaka on top of all the lesson topics. We look forward to more classes and lodging opportunities.Sobaka goes to the facility with a wiggle butt and comes back the same way. Lodging plus includes enrichment time. His manners (such as they are for a puppy) are not only in place, but better! He will be one year old this month. Great peace of mind having him in the care of White Mountain College for pets when he can not travel with us.Communication is excellent. I frequently get replies in the middle of the night, or definitely within 24 hrs. I appreciate their flexibility to my changing travel needs. One suggestion, as an over thinker and worrier, I would love to see/hear updates at least every other day for lodging plus.Brenda and Jon

My dog, Rio (English cream golden, 1 year old), is extremely happy at White Mountain College for Pets. She finished the basic trainings recently and already behaves well. She also has a lot of fun time playing with her friends. Very good environment for dogs.

100% recommend College for Pets! Our boy, Memphis just returned home from his first 5 weeks of the Lodge and Train program and he is a changed dog. He is already so much more confident. We can’t wait to see what the coming months have to offer as we all continue to grow together and strengthen the amazing skills he’s acquired.

Before enrolling my White Siberian Husky into White Mountain College, I had a very disobedient dog. As a new dog owner of this breed I was lost, stressed, and unsure about what to do. I am so glad I found Mike and enrolled my sweet Alaska into the Bachelors board and train program. Not only has she acquired amazing obedience skills, Mike and his staff helped with the transition back home. Not only do we have an obedient dog, we are able to enjoy her without the stress that the disobedience caused. Thanks to Mike, I now have the knowledge to continue sharpening the skills Alaska learned while having fun in the process! Thank you Mike and staff for everything you have done for me and Alaska!

This place is outstanding. We leave both our dog and cat at White Mountain, sometimes for extended stays when we are traveling. The care they receive is highly personal and their rates are reasonable. The staff really bonds with the pets, as if they were their own. For this reason, our dog and cat get all excited and enthusiastic when they are dropped off. In addition, the staff will call us if there is any important information to share. They are highly attentive to the needs of the pets and highly communicative with the pet owners. I highly recommend White Mountain for anyone looking for the highest quality pet care.

Really great caring staff and top notch facility- our positive experience started with a few training classes when our dog was a puppy, all excellent and helpful for our pup's obedience. For the past five years he's been going to day camp a few times a week and he boards here for vacations when we're not able to take him. I'm guessing much of the time he has a better time at day camp or boarding and playing with other dogs and getting activities, than being home... Thanks to everyone at White Mountain College for Pets for taking care of our dog so well!

Mike and the whole team are absolutely fantastic. Our dog has a natural fear of strangers and separation anxiety. The team was reassuring and informative over the phone when I called to ask questions. When we brought our dog in, the handlers were immediately confident and kind. After two days, our dog came out happy, socialized, relaxed and exercised. I can't recommend White Mountain College for Pets highly enough, I would trust them to care for our dog over and over again.

Having had a couple of really amazing furry family members I trained myself my confidence was totally challenged with Gus.I did my research and decided on White Mountain College for Pets. The team was great from the moment I called until I picked up Gus at the end of his training.I especially liked the interactive video calls and weekly video of Gus’ progress. I felt very much like a part of his training. The best part is the training doesn’t end when you go home! We have both private & group training to reinforce what Gus has learned and expand our training together. Thanks to Karen & everyone!!

SPECTACULAR!I cannot say enough good thinks about Mike and his team. Our dog is an amazing dog but has some behavioral issues. We just finished the "in-residence" phase of the program and so far, it's been amazing! So much so that, while we have a house sitter that comes take care of Lucy when we're gone, we actually would rather know she's at the College. LOVE IT!

What a phenomenal experience attending College for Pets! The trainers are all lovely people and very knowledgeable. I was impressed with how fast they responded to my questions. The service dog training is geared to help the needs of the particular individual, which is extremely beneficial. I worked with Mike and it was astonishing to watch how he catches cues with dogs even in listening to just their breath. He has taught not just my dog things, but even things about myself. I have been able to become independent again, which is huge for me. Without a doubt, I highly recommend College for Pets!

My fiancé and I are so thankful that we found White Mountain College for Pets! As most everyone we know knows, Beau is the most hyper pup I have ever had, and he has really bad separation anxiety. We knew when we started our internship for our counseling program that he could not stay home alone. White Mountain College for Pets not only gave us peace of mind, but also Beau. I have seen Beau go from timid and hiding behind our legs, to happy go lucky when heading into his day camp. He's been working on so much and I have noticed he a little better at sharing toys with his dog neighbor Ellie, he is calmer throughout the day, and he is more attentive. Now, don't get me wrong, Beau has always been attentive, but I think from what he has been working on in day camp, he is just listening a little bit better at home because he is an overall calmer little guy. Beau also loves that he gets to hang with his people friends all day and that he always gets sent home with a treat or two. He has practiced socialization with other pups (a big help!), scent training, and one day he even got a little doggy massage! Long story short, if you're looking for a place for you dog to go during the day, pick here - and enroll them in day camp, it has been so great for Beau Beau! :)

We highly recommend White Mountain College for Pets. The staff is extremely nice and professional. They are very receptive when we email asking how she is and they even send pictures. Its never easy leaving your pet when you have to go away but when we do we know our girl is being taken care of and loved. Thank you White Mountain.

Our recently adopted dog was struggling and needed help from a local trainer. We heard about White Mountain College (WMC) from friends and decided to take the dog for a day-long evaluation. The morning drop-off was uneventful. I received a call at 3:30PM from a staffer who said the dog needed a 3-week live-in course (costing over $3,000) and maybe even the 5-week course (costing over $5,000). This without any written evaluation, discussion of specific behavior issues that would be addressed, or defined goals. So I started asking for specific goals and examples to see if they'd really evaluated the dog or just decided I was a good source of income. It was like pulling teeth. The staffer was surprised by my questions and stumbled for a few minutes until she abruptly put me on hold to speak with Mike the WMC owner. I was on hold 5 minutes. The staffer returned to say we were not a good match and to pick up the dog immediately so I could speak with Mike in-person. At the pickup 15 minutes later my dog was loose and wildly running around their office and lobby area. I was eventually handed a bag with the leash and ecollar. My partner was a dog breeder and came with me. He was outraged by what he saw and heard. Mike refused to provide a written evaluation or specifics on the full day of observation ("that's not how we do it"). We were not satisfied. He eventually offered to refund all fees. We have worked with several top trainers in the region (MA and NH) and Mike is much below their standard. Unprofessional and arrogant are the words I'd use to describe this experience with Mike of WMC. You decide if you want to deal with his nonsense.

I leave my 13 year old ornery doxie here and am thrilled at their comfort level in dealing with a grouchy old man. Other pet places in this area wouldn’t take him because his fear came off as aggressive- but Mike is able to pick him up and give him proper love and attention which makes me so grateful!!! He truly has a gift with dogs!!

We have a wonderful rescue dog named Arlys, who was in a local dog shelter for 6 months waiting for us to adopt her.She had some social issues and Mike and the staff at WMCP worked with her and helped her socialize with other dogs as well as other people. The staff at WMCP is dedicated and caring. It has made a big difference in Arlys's behavior.

The staff is incredible and my dog is well cared for. We vacation in the NH lakes region twice a year and we have been White Mountain College clients for many years now. There isn't anyone around that I trust more than them.

I am blown away by the work White Mountain College for pets did for my and my dog. My dog is a 4 year old Italian Greyhound who is very high energized and wreaked havoc in my house. She jumped out on counters to steal food, bolted away from me, wouldn’t let me put her harness on her, and was an awful food stealer. From the beginning, they kept my expectations realistic and were very patient with me and my question. When Gidget came home from the board and train I was just blow away by the progress she made. I can put her harness on her! She (most of the time) comes when I call her. She is able to play outside without being attached to me. She hasn’t stolen food since her return home. She is still her energetic self, but she is much more well behaved. I thought training Gidget was a lost cause (multiple other training attempts were). They cared for her like she was their dog and did an amazing job with her. Anyone looking for a committed training school for there “hopeless to train” dog, this is definitely the place!
