This place was amazing, I took my wife and kids on a min vacation, it was amazing, the lake right across the street was clean and the kids loved every day we were there, great little spot for a mini getaway, there is a busy road so if you do bring your dog I would becareful, we didn't bring our dog just in case. we stayed in cottage #2 really nice rooms and all the necessities you need, I'm planning another visit soon. There was also a cool table you could play chess on which we thought was super cool for late night games.

This place remains a favorite simple weekend or extended weekend getaway.Classic cozy cabins. We stay at the same cabin every time. Makes it a more personal stay.We can also bring our dog.This trip, we didn't want to check out at 10:00 on a Sunday. So we bought another night and left late in the day on Sunday.May they could offer a special extended weekend package!?!?Rooms: Fireplace adds to the charm. Bathroom has been updated. Nice cabin feel.Walkability: Nice wide sidewalks. Allowed us to walk into town.

Cottage place provided the perfect spot to rest our heads for a couple of days of hiking in the whites! The feel of the room was that of stepping back into time where you felt as though you were back at grandma and grandpas cabin. A quaint space with all the necessary amenities to make your stay great. The view of Squam lake from the large window where the kitchen table was made it even better. Thank you for allowing us to travel back in time and enjoy a little time away at “the cabin”!

We went up for a quick two night getaway and Cottage Place did not disappoint. The cottages were exactly as advertised. They are no frills but clean and you can't beat the location. We'll definitely be back.

While being mainly outdoors and touring the area, this little “home” was a nice touch! Great views and the family that owns this business are personal and friendly. Also, they are dog friendly which is a plus!My only constructive criticism is that they upgrade the beds. They are hard and stiff to our liking. Also, we wished the sink in the bathroom was a little bigger.Nonetheless, we had a great experience. Thank you!

Love this place. Everyone is so friendly and the cottage we stayed in was perfect! The atmosphere of being right across from the lake and having a fireplace was so cozy. I loved the little shop they have where the office is. Very clean! Will definitely stay there again. My son loved it too! He made friends with kids staying next cottage over and they didn't want to leave the playground! Glad we bumped into it again after 7 years ago!

We made the reservation and payment on the phone. Room was ready with the keys inside. Very easy check in. The house was clean, and fresh air, good heating.Comfortable beds. And overall beautiful place to stay - considering also the lake.Big thx, and strongly recommend it .

A quaint, charming little spot about 10-15 minutes drive from the hubbub of Laconia and Weirs Beach (and Funspot, one of our favorite destinations), and just a few minutes away from Squam Lake Science Center, another delightful destination, Cottage Place On Squam Lake is a cozy, peaceful place to stay. There are few frills, but the area is pretty, the cottage is cute, and you get most of what you need for your stay, including an oven, fridge, microwave and cookware. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They even put "Happy Anniversary" on their sign for us (my wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon years ago, and then again this weekend for our 10th anniversary). There's a nice fireplace in the cabin we stayed in (if I'm not mistaken, they don't all have fireplaces, so make sure you ask), and of course they sell firewood. Otherwise, they have an electric heater, which sufficed just fine for us. The bed was firm but comfy. There's a small but pleasant beach across the road (do be careful crossing... it's not a particularly slow section of road). They sell some random stuff at the front office, from games to drinks to gifts, but it's not extensive, so do try to come with what you need.One very minor gripe, which did not affect our enjoyment but I do want to address it... They claim to be "pet friendly", but this appears to apply only to dogs, as our cat (even declawed as he is, which we did mention to them when we asked via email) was not allowed to stay with us. This is their prerogative and we respect that, but cats are pets too, lol! Maybe just advertise as "dog friendly"?Regardless, a good place all around. They will likely see us again sometime.

We stayed for a 3 nights in Cottage #1 which is the one room cottage. We had a blast swimming and boating ( I was able to bring my 17.5 ft bass boat and and dock it at thier dock). The sunsets were beautiful. The owner was very kind and generous to us and we will be coming back again next year! This place was perfect! We both really liked the rustic camp feel!

We had a wonderful time staying in a cabin at Cottage Place. Cabins are clean and decorated with a sweet vintage charm. They are older, it is in the mountains...you will find ants, spiders etc. but remember, its a cabin nestled in the woods!As others have said, Sue is wonderful and super accommodating! She supplied us with everything we needed.Little Squam is beautiful!! We brought paddle boards and had so much fun paddling across the lake!! Kids loved the dock! The best part, our dog could come with us and swim on the private beach!! I did give 4 stars instead of 5 because it is so close to the road. It can be difficult with a young dog who wants to run on the beach. We kept him leashed and were careful crossing. We did know this ahead of time, as she clearly advertised it on her site. Thanks for the memories!

Amazing experience if you enjoy slightly retro cottages. Cottage 2 had more than enough space for cooking dinner and everything there worked well. Sue made me feel like family and it was great to spend my hours working on my computer sitting out on the deck. You'd love this place if you like hiking, boating, swimming, kayaking, or just enjoying the great outdoors.

Absolutely loved this place, and so did our pets. Being per friendly is my number one seller as to where I will stay.It is so clean, comfy, and welcoming. The beach is right across the street which is just perfect! We loved our nightly fire pit get together with the new families that we met. Everyone was so friendly and we will be back next year. Wish I found this place years before!!

To start you can't beat the price for a rental especially during peak of the season. They even have a dock you can park your boat at for a fair price and parking in back for trailers. The service is excellent there if you need more towels or clean ones bring in your dirty ones to exchange. There is a community fire pit which you can sit at in the evening and the other renters are always nice to talk with. They have nice sandy beach area across street and shuffleboard too. It is the perfect place to get away for a little while. The ladies are always very professional and kind. I can't wait to go back again!

Stayed here for my best friend's bachelorette party it was just so relaxing and picturesque. It was perfect for for girls wanting to have fun not too much fun. The owner was great she even let us use the private beach after we checked out. We even sat around some of the other guests at night fire pit and talked it was just a great time. Definitely looking to go back with my boyfriend and Friends

We are again ready this weekend to embark on our Painting Weekend. This will be our 4th year. We all have a great time. Sitting by the fireplace drinking a little wine painting, reminiscing about family and past trips to the " Lodge" here at The Cottage Place on Squam Lake. We usually see our first show here. It sleeps so many people that the cost is reasonable. Its clean the staff is so friendly and accommodating and the story has some unique items to start our Christmas shopping. GREAT PLACE!

We stayed for 3 nights in the cottages. They are comfy but dated and on the small size related to the number of people they are declared to host.Facilities are basic and the beach is across a busy road with lot of traffic and noisy motorcycles, which was bad for kids and dogs (our dog was almost run over).The landlady can be rough and we were scolded by her multiple times. From 30min after we arrived and the kids were not using the beach equipment to her liking, to pure insults in front of guests and friends, to a follow up email to our stay with "how you should be a better guest in the future". She was right on some of the cases - but her attitude was unheard of and unacceptable toward guests.Prices are ambitious compared to facilities and expect being nickel and dimed for anything you will want to use outside the room.We loved the location and view but will not go back.

Very nice staff. I brought my own, but there was no hair dryer or shampoo. There is no air conditioner in the cottages. I love quaint but this is more shabby. The place needs cleaning and some updating.

The owner is a gem! And the crew is excellent! I have only one recommendation all areas should be air conditioned.Rooms: The suites are nice, outdated but great for. The price!

It’s a home away from home. This place is extraordinary in a way how it’s kept - with rustic charm and very clean and organized at the same time. Cottage was charming, decorated with lots of heart and had everything you might need during your stay any time of year, it was very warm in fall. Hope to be back soon!

Attended a vintage market flee market at this place in the spring, the venders were great, had a great selection!There is another one last weekend in Oct will definately attend.I've never stayed at the cottages, but they were truely adorable!
