Imagine everything that frustrates you about a hotel and this hotel has solved it. From cold bottled water at the elevator bays by your room, electrical plugs in nice furniture in lobby, good coffee bar, two king bed vs queen, or king and pull out couch. They have all the little touches, warm cookies upon arrival, but of most appreciated is the service. Literally EVERY team member we interacted with was exceptional. From front desk to coffee bar, to valet. Truly kind and wanting to help including answering multiple questions about town, college etc. We came in under Chase travel which usually isn't the preferred method, they still switched our room for no charge because it was available and the right thing to do. Truly exceptional service and thought.

Enjoyed a few days here while exploring New Hampshire and Vermont … a perfect base, close to Woodstock, and a fairly easy day drive to Stowe. Hotel is well appointed and designed. Rooms were comfortable and overall service was good. Nice touch was the complimentary water, apples and cookies. Restaurant and bar is closed on Sunday and Monday but there are more than a dozen restaurants and bar options within a few minutes walk from the hotel. They offer valet parking, but parking from 5 PM to 9 AM on the street is free. Highly recommend will stay again.Walkability: Located in the heart of Hanover, New Hampshire, many restaurants and shops, including Dartmouth College just minutes away.

Little secret about dining in downtown Hanover. When all other restaurants are packed, head over to the newly renovated bar at Six South St. It's a limited dinner menu, but the food is delicious with good portions and you never have to wait.

This hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and professional. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The water pressure in the shower was great! And the food was very good. On each floor there is a mini fridge by the elevator that has ice, bottles of water and fruit for guest enjoyment. I would totally stay here again.

Check in was a pleasant experience with a free cookie and the room was nice, not extravagant. Six Street has the appearance of being dolled up to the point of being overdone for what it is. It seems to be an remodeled older hotel, a pig with lipstick if you will. We paid $440 for a night and they have only valet parking only for $25. Went to the diner in the morning for coffee and it cost $8.00. What's next a charge for oxygen in the room? I certainly would look at different options in the future.Walkability: At least the hotel was in downtown Hanover.

This above average hotel property missed the mark on a number of things one expects in a great hotel. They are short staffed with the front desk person also working as the valet. This led to longer than acceptable wait times for check in and valet service. The room was a typical hotel room size with above average furnishings and decor, but not spectacular. It is conveniently located in Hanover near shops and restaurants. The shower was dirty with moldy caulk around the perimeter of the base. (See photo) We informed the staff at check-out and were told we would get some follow-up from management. That did not happen. From my recent experience, there are nicer, cleaner options nearby in Hanover in the same price bracket.

I Loved this hotel! The view from my window was so New Engand. The room decor was nice and the bed was comfortable. Very clean. I enjoyed the personal touches and snacks in my room. The "healthy start" omelet was delicious. Be aware that you do have to valet your car, which adds to the nightly cost.

Stayed at Six Street South hotel when we took a baking class at King Arthur Flour! They had a special rate for King Arthur students as well! The location is fabulous, within a very short walking distance to all the shops and dining in the cute downtown. The hotel is very well decorated. Our room wasn’t huge but was very well-appointed with chic décor and furnishings. Lobby area had a multitude of coffee/tea/hot chocolate options. Valet parking is your only option as the street parking is metered and in the winter months is not allowed overnight. A huge shout out to Kelly from the front desk. She was super professional and kind and always greeted us as we came and went through the hotel. Highly recommend.

This was a great hotel in Hanover, NH just a few blocks from Dartmouth. The room was clean and spacious with a good selection of TV channels. The shower had lots of water pressure so I felt great starting my day. Six South St hotel does not have a designated parking area but the valet staff were very fast at getting my car. I was able to walk to several dinner locations.

I have stayed at Six South approximately five times, perhaps more. It's a good choice for a hotel within walking distance of Dartmouth that is a better bargain than the Hanover Inn. It's a bit farther than the Inn, but still definitely walkable to anywhere on campus in about 20 minutes maximum. The hotel is fine. About on par with a courtyard Marriott or other common business hotel. Nice glass showers and tasteful bathroom fixtures. The shower has run out of hot water on me after my buddy showered first for a not unreasonable amount of time. Bed linens are average. The pullout couch I've stayed on once was not very good. Thin mattress without much support and not a ton of linens for the pullout, including no comforter, just a basic fleece blanket. Dog friendly hotel, which is a big plus because the Hanover area is great for dogs. Small bistro inside the hotel but it is not a well known or trafficked restaurant in Hanover. Really only of use in a pinch if nothing else is available. Valet parking $20, no other parking available except on the street or in the Hanover garage. Note that overnight street parking is banned in the winter season in Hanover. Service is friendly but not necessarily super super attentive. All in all, this hotel is just about the location and price compared to its only real competitor. I think that means they don't feel a big incentive to be anything other than average. Still, it's where I stay when I come to Hanover.

Pleasant accommodations in the middle of the town. Low rating b/c hottest day of the year and their A/C failed. Room thermostat was locked on 75 degrees. After cold showers and uncomfortable period the rest of the night was barely tolerable. The management offered no consideration in room rates. I would not stay there again on principal. There are other choices available equally suitable and more considerate of service that failed customer expectations.

Stayed here twice on the way to Burlington, once with our dog; the hotel was exceptional. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there are tons of places to eat and shop nearby, as well as the historic Dartmouth campus. The rooms are affordably priced, and I would 100% recommend staying here to anyone in the Hanover area.

The hotel website advertised parking, views from the rooms and a restaurant&bar. When booking the room, mystery fees raised the room price by nearly 50%. Upon arrival we were charged another $50 preauthorization, told that parking was valet only for $23, and that the restaurant and bar were closed. The view from our room was a brick wall. The room itself was lovely but for a one night stay cost of $478, there wasn’t a single amenity. It was like a boujee best western with no pool or breakfast

Stayed for a night, great for business trips. They have a printer you can use. Only issue is parking, you have to pay one way or another, whether it be valet or street parking. It's right next to Dartmouth college which is pretty cool. 9/10 would stay again.

Great service, friendly staff. Room was clean and everything was in place. Please provide toothpaste in each room and also water jug. Also, provide a door to the shower area to avoid water drops falling outside.Apart from minor complaints I liked it very much. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice little boutique hotel in downtown Hanover. The rooms are modern and spacious, the staff is friendly, and the common areas are nice. Free coffee in the lobby. My only complaint is that the only available parking is valet for $18/night. Then again, this is Hanover, and parking is generally not free.

Very nicely appointed room with attentive front-end staff. Breakfast and food is available on site but is not included in overnight room rate. Rooms are clean and decorated in modern manner. Complimentary WiFi and free Starbucks coffee available in lobby. Valet parking available at front door for $18 per day, short wait to get your car when you leave. Hotel is a block from good food such as Molly's and a few blocks from Dartmouth College. Quick drive to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Comfortable bed. The TV was far away from the bed and off to the side so the remote control barely worked and was super frustrating. The water in the sink was cold and never warmed up. Thankfully, the shower warm water did work. The climate control didn't work properly. I'd give more stars but the essentials didn't even work.

So they gouged the price for student arrivals to over 400$ per night, which is fine given demand, but there is no one to welcome you into the hotel (it's all businesses), they dont make your bed or change your sheets, the person who works the desk, who is kind of the only person working at all, is nice but overwhelmed. I hope they survive the pandemic, but I feel swindled right now .

Oh, this review is SO long overdue! My sister, niece and I visited NH and stayed at Six South St Hotel in Sept 17 and it is my opinion that if you are going to Hanover to visit Dartmouth you won't find a better place to stay. Six South is within walking distance of EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The rooms are quiet and cozy. And, really, the whole place is thoughtfully appointed. The food in the cafe was great, their beer selection was fantastic! And the staff are AMAZING. Like, the coolest, nicest people, EVER. They do not pester and they aren't cloying or phony - I live in LA, I can spot phony/annoying a mile away. ;) They are just cool, quick to laugh and just... rad. The kind of people I could see myself being friends with. From housekeeping, to the chef, to the waitstaff, the folks at the front desk - we were SO comfortable and HAPPY there. It was an emotional time for us - hopes and dreams being explored and quietly pinned on the big D. But, that's what made staying at Six South so great. We'd walk in and see TomB (the BOMB!) and we'd instantly feel better. What a great, kind man. Again not phony in any way. Just authentically cool, nice, funny and so easy to talk to. He gets it, ya know? It's possible that not everyone will recognize him as such right off the bat. He may fly a little under the radar. But spend a minute talking with him and, what a guy! My sister, niece and I ALL loved him so much.So much so, that we, all three of us, continued to think and talk and laugh at funny things he'd said, or that we'd said/done while talking with him, LONG after our visit.Sometimes you just click with a person. And in a world that seems desperate to remain insular and disconnected that was really refreshing. So, THANK YOU to EVERYONE at Six South St Hotel for the best visit we ever could've imagined! You have left your mark on us and if we are ever back in Hanover, we know exactly where we'll be staying! ❤️
