Title: Festive Breakfast at Pine Restaurant☕️ Review:During our quick tour of Dartmouth College, we found ourselves at Pine Restaurant, conveniently located right in front of the university's main park. Visiting on Christmas Day at 7 in the morning, it was a relief to find it open when most places were closed. The atmosphere inside was absolutely amazing, adorned with festive decorations that added to our holiday experience. However, it's worth noting that the food prices are on the higher side. I ordered toast with cheesecake and a latte, which was so generous in portion that I couldn't finish it and had to take the rest with me. My daughter opted for the Dartmouth breakfast, and my husband enjoyed pancakes with regular coffee. Each dish was well-prepared and delicious, making our Christmas morning breakfast a memorable one. Pine Restaurant is a great spot for a special breakfast, especially if you're visiting the college.

Our large group had a great time at Pine. The shared appetizers were delicious and disappeared quickly, and the main courses were also good, although I would have expected better for the price. On the downside, our drinks took a long time to arrive, and the acoustics made it difficult to have a conversation at times. However, the positive aspects of our experience outweighed the negatives, and we would recommend Pine to others, especially those who are looking for a fun and lively atmosphere.Vegetarian options: Dairy free available upon request.

A fine restaurant located right in front of Dartmouth College. The quality of food was not at the level of a fine restaurant. Price was not reasonable; too much for the quality.Service was quite poor... Again not at the fine restaurant level.

Perfect place for fine-dining in the Upper Valley! Loved the atmosphere, decor, and the service!Food-wise, Lobster Benedict and Crab cakes were my top favorites! Other items that I liked was the Day-in-Milan sandwich and the Faroe Island Salmon.Price would be ~ $30/head for lunch (w/o alcohol).

Desserts were yummy and food presentation was great. Aside from that, I don't really have any other positive review. My wife and I came here for our anniversary. We made reservations online and got seated promptly. It will be about 10 minutes before our server gets to us though. A manager poured us some water while we waited. Now, here's the fun part. The pork loin appetizer was very tough. This is the first time we went to a "fine dining" that sold very tough pork. It was a chore to just eat the small dish. The ossetra caviar, such an expensive ingredient barely shined and drowned in the grease of the potato mille feiulle. The ribeye at $57, ordered medium-rare, was incredibly stringy. What does that tell us? That the cut is cheap and very poor and the restaurant is ripping off its customers. Paella was underwhelming. I get the "modern" twist on it but it was honestly bland. It seemed like the rice was only cooked with saffron water and nothing else. The seafood wasn't cooked with the rice so there was no other flavor unlike a regular paella.Dessert was the best part of the evening. We were very hesitant about it because of how underwhelming everything is but we decided to complete the night. Please hire a better chef! One with pride in his work!

Excellent meal every time we visit! Tonight we were served by Luke who provided a wonderful experience. He was there when needed and was super attentive. The atmosphere is upscale with a simple elegance. The staff is very well trained which is a credit to management. The bar is staffed by talented mixologists and the chef turns out flawless and delicious small plates and entrees. The menu is concise but we’ll rounded with something for everyone. Our selections on this trip we’re the roasted beets, and the pork belly small plates, the miso & honey glazed chicken breast, and the aged ribeye entrees…. all unbelievably delicious and served as works of art. The desserts are some of the best you’ll find anywhere. The Cheesecake and Panna Cotta are our favorites. Book well in advance as this is a popular spot in Hanover. You’ll be happy that you did.

I don’t know how to explain this place other than it being disappointing and sub-par in regards to food, setting and service. I was initially excited to come here. I came in from Austin to visit family and found this spot prior to my visit. My family in the area had slightly urged us to not go. And I didn’t understand why, until I went. The regulars that come in must be a small select few of locals… if that. This restaurant felt like stepping into the movie “The Stepford Wives”- pretentious and unauthentic. The food took quite a while to actually make it to our table, which I don’t have a problem with. But…our server was inattentive and for the few times he stopped by, he seemed rather aloof, out of it, or just didn’t want to be there. When we did get our food, it was less then spectacular. Drinks were expensive and unbalanced, scallops were cold and the risotto was so underdone, it wasn’t enjoyable. If you want to spend money on sub-par food and service, this is the place for you. However, if you want something authentic and not pretentious, look elsewhere.

Historic fine dining on Dartmouth campus. Try to get a reservation ahead of time. The cocktails are great and so are the fries.

We really wanted to like this place. The food was absolutely excellent. That aside, the loss of stars occurred from certain expectations: for a table of four where three people ordered the same entree, remembering who got what should be easy. Drink delivery times were very slow and we had to grab some of our silverware from another table. The waitress didn’t know the menu and even with making a reservation, instead of simply being nicely told that the table wasn’t yet ready and shown somewhere like the bar, we were told that the hostess couldn’t possibly predict when guests will leave their table and to just go wait in the lobby. Obvious about wait times but the absolute worst way to approach such a situation. Also, when you make a reservation and are up front that you have vegetarian guests, you should be told how the menu of a very few select items can or cannot be made to fit your needs. Again, food was good but the experience was made fun by our friends, not the restaurant. Two stars only for the food quality.

Went for a Sunday after rush time dinner and it was a mess in there. Hostess group were disorganized and the restaurant was, "behind on reservations" but they clearly hadn't call their reservations to let them know. Couldn't get a table for one at all. Was told my best chance was a bar seat or the two "lounge tables" which was fine, but no seats open at the bar for almost an hour. Bar staff were doing the best they could with all their orders but it made them highly inattentive to people at the actual bar (where I ended up sitting). Food was just ok but the atmosphere and eyeball appeal is good, too bad the food appeal isn't there too.

Expensive but worth. Ambiance is relaxing and elegant. The food is delicious, albeit expensive, though portions can be small (or just right depending on who you are). Would recommend if looking for fine dining.

The bartenders tonight were so rude and unfriendly. Terrible attitude for the start and refused to transfer our drinks to our table after ordering a beer while waiting for our table to be ready. Said their system was archaic - seems unlikely.Wait staff and hostess were great. Food was mediocre. Would be nice if they changed up the menu once in a while.

Everything is great here, good and relaxing atmosphere, Dartmouth view, service is slow, but it's not a problem, the food is modest not exactly fine dining, but it's OK. However, this is the only good restaurant in this place.

Ambience & lay out beautiful, valet parking, they prepared a wonderful setting for my group, our waiter very attentive, I started with a salad while it was lovely the portion was too much. My salmon was not the best but ok, however the pastry chef out did himself on that Dark Chocolate Whisky Cake my favorite. Thanks guys.

I was there for lunch (recommended by Dartmouth tour guide). It was probably the poshest place in Hannover. I had mushroom bisque (very good) and gnocchi (average). Daughter had fish tacos (ok) and wifey had lobster roll (ok). Nice ambience and great server, but it didn't quite get to 5 stars. Foods lacked the zest!

Waited for over an hour before being waited on, and another 20 minutes for a drink (only a beer, ordered at the same time as a beet and strawberry salad, which sounded great).Salad arrived another 15 minutes later, and was embarrassingly small, see the attached photo. Three or four total pieces of greens. We had to grab our own water refills from the waiting stations, and this was a Tuesday night.I expected much more from Pine based on past corporate event experiences, but was let down tonight.

The atmosphere is great and the place has nice decor. It is slightly pricey, and the service is great! Now let’s talk about the real questions...food?! For some reason I thought the buffalo cauliflower would be fried like wings, but it was steamed or something. Definitely tasted better than I thought it would. The crostini was delicious! The watercress and brussel sprout salad was good. The fish was not good...it just wasn’t to my taste. The Oreo cake was just OK...there wasn’t enough ice cream and the cake was too cold/dense.Overall, though, I would go again! Of note, parking is free after 5pm.

Pine benefits from being the only fine dining experience in the area, but honestly, just drive a little further and go to Simon Pearce or the Woodstock Inn if you want a meal commensurate with what you are paying. I always get the sense that the chef at Pine is either a little clueless, doesn't care, or isn't training his/her people very well. The food is just not that great--some dishes are good, like the burger, but some are just not good at all, like the cauliflower, which is cut into all different sizes and hence cooks really unevenly. Overall the food is just kind of meh and really not worth the prices.Parking: they have valet parking

Had a great experience at the bar. Drinks & cheese/meat plate were great. Bar staff very nice. When seated it went downhill from there. I had the Wedge Salad & Bouillabaisse. The salad was presented nicely but was not good. The blue cheese dressing was tasteless. The lettuce was watery. 3 hunks of bacon were plopped on top of wedge...weird to cut up & eat.The Bouillabaisse was terrible. It was bland, unsalted, and just awful. It came with fish, shrimp, & octopus. I told the server I didn't care for octopus so they put squid instead. It was a solid tube of squid (huge,.not cut up) laying in the bowl when placed on the table. When I went to cut it and it was impossible to cut much less eat. It was like trying to eat a car tire. The shrimp were overcooked and large which I don't care for. The large piece of bread layer across the bowl was soggy with the water broth & not good eithet I contemplated on sending back but I just rarely do that and ultimately did not. I regret that. I picked out the fish & ate that and table bread. My husband said his food was good.

Very lovely dining area with a nice modern style. The food was fantastic. We had a local charcuterie to start. I had the scallops while my husband had the braised rib. The server and chef were very accommodating when I asked if the scallops could be made without almonds. Again, the food was delicious. The braised rib just fell apart, and the scallops were perfect. To finish, we had the peanut butter tart. Our server described it as "a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup on steroids," and he wasn't wrong.Price-wise, this was an expensive meal, but it's worth it for a special occasion and well worth splurging when you do go.

The food was amazing! Short rib and salmon were both sensational, and the Lemon mascarpone mousse was one of the best desserts I've had in my life. Even the bread was exceptional! Thank you for a great meal.

Told the waitress I had a dairy allergy then halfway into my dish I realized it had cheese. Showed her the cheese after and she said “no that’s not cheese” (it was). Then never took responsibility or apologized. Comped our drinks and said if a manager was there she would have gotten them to comp my meal but said they’d take care of me when I came back. First of all am coming from out of town and probably won’t be back anyway. Second of all why would I every come back after they gave me the thing I’m allergic to and never took responsibility or acknowledged it. I got very sick afterwards.
