It's my pleasure to write a review of the best animal hospital we were lucky enough to find. We travel almost an hour to get there because even though there are closer animal hospitals, the care that our girls Gretchen & Madison get here can't be matched anywhere else. The entire staff is knowledgeable, professional and personable. And Dr. Chase? She is so intuitive, which is something I think a veterinarian has to be, since the dog can't actually tell her what's wrong, you know what I mean? Dr. Chase is someone we admire & respect and can't thank enough for her time and patience. Thank you.

So worth the 1 hour drive. Everyone was so nice, friendly, professional. I was a nervous wreck bringing my fur baby feline Savannah there for the 1st time for a checkup, shots & microchip. Dr Rachel Chase & her assistant (sorry, forgot her name!) were wonderful...so kind & gentle w/ my baby girl, and that helped put my nerves at ease. The front desk people were great as was Hazel who took my initial call. I'm so happy I found them! P.S. I've included a pic of Savannah, not a happy camper, but such a good girl, on our way to the vet. :)

Two days ago I had to say goodbye to my best friend. His normal vets office didn’t have time due to understaffing said it would be weeks that my poor boy would suffer. Many calls with the same reasons but sugar River Animal Hospital and their amazing team accepted him with open arms. This was one of the most difficult moments of my life (still is) but the compassion and caring for not only my boy but my family was amazing! Thank you for giving him the gift of not having to suffer any longer! For opening your door to our family in need. We will forever love Bear and miss him every day!

I brought my pup Olly in for a new patient visit and I was very impressed! Very clean facility, every staff member we interacted with was phenomenal and kind. During our appointment they listened to all my concerns and continued with follow up instructions that were clear and a plan to help my boy with his allergies! Olly was a little nervous but was well taken care of and by the end of the appointment was laying on the floor completely comfortable with Dr. Brown and the tech (spacing on the name but she was also wonderful). Will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know! Thank you for allowing me to trust a vet again.

Amazing service. They are so thorough and explain everything clearly. I have a super sick pup and since coming here, the medicines they prescribed are working, and my little girl is living a normal life. All thanks to the love, knowledge and support of Sugar River Vets and staff. A million stars!!!!

I really dont know that they did anything that made scuby better. No one could really identify what was wrong with him, however they were kind and showed great compassion. I thought that we mite loose scooby. He was lathargic had not eaten in 4 days, was off his feet and had black bloody stools. They did give him som medications, and when at the vet ate his meds in treets wich I had not seen in days. By the time he got home he ate his dinner, then breakfast. scooby still had the shakes a little the next day, but was back on his feet and eating. This is the 3rd day after his visit and he seems mostly normal even begging for food.

We bought a home in NH almost 3 years ago and we use Sugar River Animal Hospital for our furbabies.Dr Brown and Dr Chase, as well as the owner are amazing and are very knowledgable and helpful. You can tell and feel how much heart they put into the animals they care for everyday.The staff at Sugar River Animal Hospital are very kind, respectful, compassionate, flexible, understanding and gentle with our pets.The only thing I would change (and is why I gave a 4 star vs 5 star review) is their prices for services......The prices have gotten what seems significantly higher from when we started bringing our vets there nearly 3 years ago. (We do also realize how insane inflation has sadly become these days in our country as well)When we first started going to Sugar River Animal Hospital we were very impressed with their prices as they seemed very reasonable.However, with all of this being said, if you tell your vet your budget, they will do their very best to work with you to give your pet the best care they can within your budget. They accept Care Credit as well, which has been very helpful for us./we highly recommend this veterinarian Hospital.The Cutts Family

Caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and professional. Even with my two rambunctious, 100# GSP's the Doc was patient, petting, talking to the them, hugging them as she asked the questions she needed to and valued our input. Her testing was complete and her exams very thorough. I am impressed! We have a new Vet for certain.

1 star for Paula being the rudest person I ever spoken to in my life. Aside from the poor communication and dishonest pricing of my dogs exam, the way Paula handled the situation when I wanted to chat calmly about the charges on the phone was appalling and ultimately why I will be telling everyone I know not to go here. Condescending , rude and even laughed at me a few times. Also, shaming clients and making them feel they haven’t done enough to help their pet isn’t usually the best way to do business. (Clearly Catherine does this as well when shes triggered by a review.) I could’ve looked past the entire weird extra charge issue if they were honest and just simply kind about it, but Paula wanted to be mean instead I guess. Dog care was fine. Paula is the worst.

Great place, everyone was nice. They even called the next day to make sure my cat was okay after getting his annual shots. They are knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions and concerns. It was my first time at the vet and I was more nervous than my cat. He did great! They were great with him as well.

We were referred to this clinic after having a horrible experience with our previous vet. The staff here were what we were hoping to find for the care of our dog, warm, friendly, and knowledgeable people. Dr. Chase was particularly patient with our dog regarding anxiety seeing a new veterinarian. The vet tech demonstrated greater knowledge than I have ever encountered in a technician.

This place was so great with our dog Luna. She needed emergency surgery and Sugar River Animal was able to get us right in. The staff was very pleasant. They were very understanding and very caring and gentle with Luna. We love this place!! Thank you we are so grateful that you saved our Luna!!

My miniature dachshund had an issue with her rear left leg. She also wasn't her same self. I brought her here because where we normally go the Vetranarian was out with covid. Very pleasant experience. Vet tech was knowledgeable & vet was clearly informed and to the point. The receptionist, Cindy is extremely nice and the new building is beautiful. Pippi will go in for surgery on 12/7 & I am very comfortable that she will do well.

So glad I switched to Sugar River! From making the appointment, walking in the door, and then to my appointment with the technician and veterinarian, everything was handled with care, compassion, and met with friendliness. Katie the technician was amazing with my puppy Stella (even when stella got car sick and went to go give Katie a big smooch right after lol!) The vet was extremely knowledgeable and professional and walked me step by step through the appointment. The front desk staff treated me like family and we courteous and kind! I can't say enough about everyone that works there! Miss Stella didn't want to leave because she was getting all the treats and pets! You all rock and made my first puppy visit an absolute breeze!

We were moving out of the country and had to change my appointment for my dog several times due to the uncertainty of the date and the logistics of the move. Paula bent over backwards trying to accommodate us so that my dog's health certificate and administration of a specific medication could be given to meet the guidelines of the UK government and endorsement by the USDA for us to book him on a flight the same day as ours. So grateful...and thank you again, including Dr. Brown who was able to complete everything!

We rescued two 7-month-old pups. One came with obvious stomach issues. For 2 weeks we tried everything with advice from a different animal hospital but they couldn't give us any appointment with a doctor. We were lucky to get an emergency appointment at Sugar River where we met Dr Chase and so many professional, knowledgeable people. After some testing Dr Chase was able to tell us what was wrong and give us all the info and meds we needed very quickly, and schedule a follow-up appointment. Our dog is sick and we were so blessed to find this excellent animal hospital. Pup #2 has to be treated as well since it's contagious and Dr Chase got her in the very next day as well. Sugar River A.H. is incredible and we are so grateful to Dr Chase and Katie and Ally and Kristen for such good work.

I have a dog that has severe social anxiety to new situations and new people. They went out of their way to help me get her comfortable with them. I only want the best care for my fur babies. In addition, I am very interested in making sure my girls have the best nutrition for long, healthy lives. The vet has provided me with a great deal of information.

Best Vet We have found in the area for our Four Legged Child..very reasonable price/cost...Friendly staff as well...Very impressed.. We came to use Sugar River Animal Hospital due to our prior Vet would not see our pup in January ( she was extremely sick ) Court Street Vets said they couldn't see her for over a month...our pup would have died!!! She had a bacterial infection in her stomach....we rush her to Sugar River Animal Hospital ( they took her in the same day. ) they took such great care ❤ of our pup...she is doing awesome ..and we switched Vets that very day...and if I need to speak to my pup's Vet all I need to do is leave Dr.Herbert a message and she returns the call!!!.. We "STRONG RECOMMEND" "The Sugar River Animal Hospital to anyone who needs a professional, caring Vet for your fur babies

I was “over the moon” impressed by the service we received at Sugar River Animal Hospital. From the moment I spoke to Sherry on the phone- I felt strongly we had chosen the best option for getting my sweet dog’s international health certificate for traveling back home to Oslo. The whole team made this (quite stressful) health certificate process feel like a breeze. We worked with Dr. Catherine who patiently answered all of my questions. She was fantastic, professional and kind! The whole team from the front desk staff, to the veterinarian technicians, to the veterinarians- just superb! We are so thankful for this amazing team and highly recommend Sugar River Animal Hospital to everyone with a beloved pet.

Having just welcomed a new puppy into our family, finding a vet practice was very important to us. Sugar River came highly recommended to us. We found their new building very welcoming with plenty of parking. The staff greeted us. After a short wait we were welcomed into a very comfortable examine room. Although our puppy wasn't thrilled with the exam, shots, ear cleaning and pedicure, he truly enjoyed the peanut butter distraction. We had many, many questions. All were addressed. We left with the positive feeling that we had chosen a good partner to help us ensure our puppy's good health.

I could not ask for a better vet to bring my pets to. My dog Kale is an anxious boy and they were very gentle and relaxed with him. They have blown my expectations completely out of the water and have shown endless amounts of caring and kindness to my furbabies and to me as I've had to make some difficult decisions in the past for my cat, Sirius. I would absolutely recommend bringing your animals here, they will be in the best hands

First time visiting with my 14 year old cat. She had a log list of issues that needed to be addressed and I was feeling bad because she had not been to a vet in many years. Everyone here made us feel very welcome and assured me that everything I was doing for my kitty was what needed to be done. I will continue to use this Vet for all needs with my current pet, as well as with any pets I have in the future. Well deserved 5 stars

I was formerly at another animal hospital that did not show much 'Compassion' if you know what I mean. So I came back to Sugar River and wow! What a difference, they are kind and caring and gave me all the information I needed to make informed decisions on my cat's care. The new building is warm and comforting as well.
