The road itself, the view, and the access to skiing is well worth the $45, just make sure to check their website before you come for hours. My buddy and I were never informed of closing hours because we did not check there website. The lady at the toll road did not tell us the closing hours. Apparently there were a few signs on the way up, but when driving a dangerous alpine road I was more focused on getting to the top then the signs. When we came down, the gate to leave the road was closed. After 30 minutes of trying to figure out what to do, an employee came out to go home. He got out of his car extremely angry and yelled at my friend and I for being late. When we apologized and said that we did not know that the road closes at night he said “I don’t appreciate feedback” that was slightly rude in my opinion. Overall a good experience but run by not nice people so make sure to check their website and do exactly as they say to limit contact with staff. Have a good time on the auto road!

Incredible scenery, and it's quite windy and cold at the mountaintop. If you're planning to drive and explore the mountain, be sure to bring warm, wind-resistant clothing and non-slip shoes. When descending, make sure to periodically stop to allow your brake discs to cool down. I witnessed two cars with their brakes producing a lot of smoke, which is very dangerous.

Great experience. But the driving can be scary for lot of people as many places in the road there are no side wall and it's down hill after that. Also during driving down make sure to stop and take rest for Car brake other brakepad can burn and there can be fire. On the top, it can be really cold and windy. So take proper clothing for that. But it's a surreal experience all the way. We climb through the clouds and the clouds again came back like fog. Lifetime experience. It is expensive as well.

We stopped here on our way back home after a vacation trip to Maine. The cost for the driver and car was $45 and the second vehicle occupant was $20. The drive up the road (~7.5 miles) was quite nice and we only had minimal cloud coverage at the summit. We parked in a pull out on the way up and down the road to enjoy the view and the cool fresh air. I did see one car overheating on the uphill climb and smelled some hot brake pads from another vehicle on the way back down. They are expanding the visitor area at the summit. The gift shop and museum are also both worthwhile stops. I would recommend to anyone who is not afraid of heights.

Definitely great experience. If you are not a fan of hiking, but would love to see the beautiful view from a summit that's the way to do it. It's a bit pricey, though.... The condition of the road is great. There are plenty of places to stop and take a moment to enjoy breathtaking views. On the top of the mountain, if you are lucky enough, you can touch the clouds or be above them. The route itself is not long, and there are no rest areas along the way. However, on the summit, you can find everything that you might need: souvenirs, restrooms, water stations, and huge food court with hot drinks. You can even get rid of annoying passengers by getting them on a train ride from the summit!

One of the best experiences I have had with my car. The drive up is smooth but the difficult part is getting down. If you are scared of heights it's not for you as there are no barricades. The brakes get quiet hot and you need to pull over to let it cool down.Other then that the drive is worth doing it. If not you can take the train to the summit.

Check this off the bucket list. I'm not a fan of heights but I've summited mountains in Switzerland in a gondola and thought id be okay. Riding the Auto Road to summit Mt Washington was the most intimidating ride I've ever done myself! On this day, the wind was strong but the breaks in the clouds showed an incredible scenic view. The cliffs on the side of the 2 lane road could paralyze anyone with fear. I'm glad I did this myself but not sure I'd do it again.

The drive was exciting. Yes you need to be cautious on the curves and edges. Lesser on coming vehicles makes it comfortable. Also, take frequent breaks. We could smell the tyres. The views are just picturesque. Everywhere was so spectacular. We saw the foggy and we relished the sun...it was an amazing memory to behold for a lifetime.

While I thought that $55 for two of us to drive my legendary Toyota LandCruiser 8 miles up a mountain road was expensive, it was totally worth it. The views that you will see are incredible. This drive will blow your mind. The views are are so beautiful and so breathtaking and you will take tons of photos. Just do your best to go up when the weather is clear. We went up and it was a little hazy limiting our viewing distance. This was probably my 5th time up the mountain. Twice I drove myself up and three times I took their guided van tour.

Better view than you expect and great ride (from a passenger perspective). It was clean at the top, bathrooms and gift shops were nice. Unexpected best part was a post office where I could mail out post cards from. They even put stamps on your cards if you leave them in a bag with stamp money when they are closed (4pm I think). Overheard attendants instructing automatic cars to use low gear (which many don't realize they can) and saying there are multiple pull overs for engine cooling (there was and they make great photos).Little obnoxious was the constant train calls for departure for over an hour but that was due to passengers not getting on when they should. If only they could just leave without people after 30 minutes 😪Price for entry: $25

I wanted to see the top but not driving myself. This service took cared of the dilemma. Sarah was our driver and guide. She did a great job highlighting the place and I felt safe the whole time. Overall, the whole staff at this location was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

This was awesome. We drove up in June and it was very cold at the top, so bring warm clothes and expect it to be windy. The weather can change very rapidly on this mountain. The views are lovely on the way up. It was interesting to see the change in vegetation as we got higher, and we liked that they had signs along the way that gave the elevation and distance. The building at the top has some interesting information, so give yourself time to walk around a bit inside and outside.

Very nice drive up to Mt. Washington and worth the pretty hefty entrance fee. The drive is pretty easy but does pass some narrow passages and steep slopes. My wife and son walked down which was a bit tougher than expected, especially the lion head trail the accidentally took (thanks google maps). It is better to stay on the tuckeman ravine trail.

Really, really cool! I ended up doing this twice because it was so enjoyable. Please keep in mind that they aren't exaggerating when they say the road is narrow, steep, and there are no guardrails. If you have a fear of heights or lack of driving experience, consider going with the guided tour. Wind can be really crazy at higher elevations, so keep that in mind as well. Otherwise, take your time and enjoy the beautiful views and fun drive!

The most thrilling experience of my life! For what you get, $45 entrance is an absolute steal! I have visited many tourist attractions including Pompei and mt. Vesuvius where you get so much less. Heres why $45 is an insanely great price:1. The ride itself is incredible thanks to the excellent roads. The paved roads are beautiful and guarantee a smooth ride. With the conditions on the mountain, this is hard to maintain.2. On the summit is a wonderful Welcome facility for food, wifi, bathrooms , souvenirs and my favorite: a museum detailing the remarkable history of the road and those early climbers/ engineers. It dates back to the late 1800’s!3. They offer valuable advice with rest stops so that you can rest your engine , take a breather and take in the sights with repeated advice on using your low gear to descend.4. Once you leave the facility, theres a beautiful building that once again offers prestine restrooms, gorgeous mountain views and wifi.5. Theres an engrossing barn thats free and has all the info including cars, signs, carriages that were used since its inception. Together with a great mini doc on the history of visitors to the mountain dating back to the 1860’s!6. The staff is really helpful and kind and their welcome center is super comfortable , I spent an hour just wandering around.7. The entire facility including the mountain and surrounding areas are prestine and beautiful. They even have a cool river!8. They have a cute train you could take up and down the mountain 🚞9. I spent over 5 hours with this experience and could have easily added another 2- for $45, its nothing!I would have easily paid $100 and still be happy 💜10. They give you a cool sticker This is an excellent excellent experience. I am forever grateful to have discovered this and will be talking about y’all for the rest of my life.

Fun ride except for the cages wanting to stop on the road, unexpectedly, with a steep camber. They don't seem to realize a motorcycle tries to fall over when it stops and your foot can't reach the pavement. Luckily, our group made it up a d back safely.

Stunning views that take your breath away. Though we went up during a time when there was only clouds above, we still loved the experience, the nature, the walk ways and the views when we weren't in the clouds any longer. Must see and experience.❤️🍁❤️

Went here with the family. Had an amazing time. It's not a scary going up as you'd think to be honest, I was more worried about coming down, but as long as you pull over every once in a while and let your brakes cool down, you're going to have a great timePrice for entry: $20Ticket type: General admission
