I chose the vaccination Clinic. They were amazing! I felt they really were passionate about my fur baby Toby (cat).They checked him out and gave me information and answered my questions. They even gave me a red heart tag to put on his collar that showed he got his rabies shot. It was extremely reasonably priced and it was quick so my baby didn't have to be out too long as he is an indoor cat. I would definitely recommend being your fur baby to this vaccination clinic if you just need yearly vaccinations and a quick check in. Thank you Petco as I am also on a budget and it's not easy for me to pay the full vet prices plus I got right in and was able to get a ride to you. I appreciate you taking care of my Toby đź’•

I am a biologist, PhD. Yesterday, my husband and I visited the Petko pet store in Gilford, New Hampshire. We were amazed at how dirty the store was. Judging by the clouds of dust under the shelves and the amount of debris on the floor, this store has not been cleaned for at least a week. The air was also filled with dust, heavy and stuffy. Various animals, including birds, live in this store for a long time, waiting for their buyer. There's a cabinet with parrots in it, and there's no air filtration system in that cabinet. As a result, parrots breathe this dirty air all day long.It is known that exotic birds, especially parrots, are extremely sensitive to the purity of the air. The main cause of their death and short life is lung infections, which are often caused by keeping birds in an environment with dirty air or lack of air circulation.Horrified by the conditions in which living creatures are kept, we invited Nicole, the manager of this store, to talk, and expressed to her our concerns about the threat to the health of animals with such careless maintenance in a dirty environment. We took her to the cabinet where the parrots live and pointed out to her the lack of an air filtration system in this cabinet. The ceiling of this cabinet is a metal grate through which air freely enters from the store, so that by inhaling such dirty air during the day, birds are doomed to inevitable lung diseases. What surprised us was that Nicole started making excuses, claiming that there had been no deaths of parrots in her store.Lung disease in birds caused by being kept in a room with dirty air proceeds as a sluggish inflammation. Such inflammation can no longer be stopped, the condition of the bird will inevitably worsen and eventually lead to its death, simply the death of the bird will occur with a delay.We hope that our feedback/review will not be ignored, that a training course on the humane treatment of animals will be conducted with all store staff and that appropriate measures will be taken to bring the Petco store in Gilford to the American standard.

Found a collar within the clearance items and it was marked 17.99, wondering what the cost was new I went to look and found it New with tags hanging up for 17.99.The only difference between the two was one had the original tags, and the other had no tags just an orange clearance sticker with the 17.99 printed on it.I proceeded to inquire about getting an actual clearance price for it and was rudely turned down twice by two associates before getting the manager in on it, who was just as rude and insisted that the tag was correct and told if I wanted clearance prices to go to the clearance section where I just was, where I found that collar.She said take it or leave it, as I walked away and left the store and I told her that was very misleading, sad experience with the new pup for sure

Great place for most pet needs, even some things for exotic animals. Store is clean and all of the enclosures look well maintained and stocked with healthy animals. With Covid however, they do have limited stock for adoptable pets and would advise calling ahead if you are looking for something specific. They also have exotic pets that aren't always advertised online sometimes. They offer many "cookie treats" that you can buy from a salad-bar styled counter as well. Petco has always been the "small zoo" that is fun to walk through and see the animals while buying pet supplies.One major complaint is their Betta fish. They have what looks like 50+ small cups with them in there and tons that are near death. They need 5gal tanks and cannot thrive in these "efficient" cups. The "2$ adopt" baby Betta fish were also way in the back on an empty tank that I saw by accident! Employees try their best to take care of them and have even told me that they have Betta fish that weren't adopted because they were "sick looking" due to being unable to thrive, and soon after died even though they can live for 3 to 5 years! Betta fish are unfortunately overlooked in terms of animal cruelty and are treated as a " temporary throwaway pet". Imagine if they sold hamsters in tiny cups and every few cups there was a dead one and many of the other ones are lethargic and "sick".

First time grooming for our Lola. Katherine was fantastic with her, very gentle, she explained the whole service to us. Lola was trimmed up all over, nails trimmed and was bathed. Everything was amazing! Lola looked fabulous and smells so fresh and clean after her lil spa day. We will be back with Lola. Thank you Katie!! đź’–

The staff was very helpful and kind, the animals looked healthy and well taken care of, and they had everything needed to care for the animals in their new homes in stock and priced for many budget ranges. They stock a fairly decent range of animals in small numbers which to me seems very responsible. 5 out of 5

Store was disgusting and filthy, clearance rack isnt clearance its overstock, employees were rude when asked about it and acted like i should have known, there was a line and only one cashier but 4 employees were having a great time talking about nothing. Literally the worst petco i have been in. Will travel to and use other pet stores not named petco.

Went to buy feeder fish, a friend kindly notified the employee of the multiple carcasses in multiple different fish tanks (im talking probably around 10-20+ in some). Employee responded with “yeah that happens” and walked away. She then refused to sell us a feeder fish.

I am very upset that your company is removing so many premium brands and flavors/varieties off the shelves, only to be replaced with horrible brands which are chock full of artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives - the thing your company was so proud to eliminate only four years ago - how hypocritical!I thought Petco was the "The Health and Wellness Company" but now it seems it's the company who only strives to drive more business by marketing pet food which causes terrible health issues to animals. Shame on Petco.

Surprisingly low competitive prices. Very large selection for every need. The staff was overall knowledgeable and very pleasant. I've been to 3-4 different Petcos and this one was the nicest by far. Weirdly enough, the store has a small town pet store feel to it. I would recommend the store to anyone for any loved family members!

Wanted to leave a glowing review of Crystal in grooming! Was my puppies first time getting her nails done and she was very nervous. Crystal made her feel safe and helped calm her down. Was very knowledgeable about my dog and gave me advice on how to care for her fur. Another lady helped and I wish I got her name (tall with blueish colored curly hair and peircings) since my puppy needed a little extra support. Will definitely bring her back when it's time for her next trim!

I visited the on 9/23/23. Katherine was the groomer.I am very satisfied as she was gently and soft spoken in her approach to my elderly dog.I am thrilled at the results, grateful for their expertise.

We went to the store to get the idea on the items needed for our first adopted beagle. We were lucky to meet an employee “Sadie” who went above & beyond with her knowledge and time to help us to fulfill our requirement. My Career is in hospitality industry in a luxury world class hotel brand, and I must say that Sadie is one of the outstanding one in customer service. I wish Sadie best of luck in the future. I knew what I needed and was able to find it with ease. I'm giving a 4 because I think it's disgraceful to have customers to pay for bags. We spend enough in the stores without having to pay more. Because of this if there is a Petco nearby I go to them. It's not the amount it's the principle of it

Horrible. Staff makes you feel like it's a bother to ask questions. They're happy to have you go elsewhere. There's Zero attention to customer service. I asked about purchasing lava rock as they had displayed in every fish tank. They had no clue of how they could get any or how to help me. I even asked if they could sell it from one tank. Imagine the confusion then. I recommend the mom and pop shops. They focus on customers.

I spend enormously amount of đź’° and a lot of time going in this store in Gilford. Every time I am in there I get great customer service.Lisa the assistant manager or manager always takes her busy time to help me find what I am looking for. She also saves me a lot of đź’° by telling me to get the app on my phone. She is always a help and recommends something else if they don't have it.Lisa really knows her stuff and I would like to say thank you so much for having a great personality and always willing to help a customer. The store is very clean and doesn't smell or have a odor.This is what this store needed all along. I'm glad she is at this store location. I've been coming here for years and now that Lisa is in the store I will keep coming back and tell my friends what a great store this is.Thank youSara L.

Once again, a positive experience with grooming for our dog at Petco in Gilford. Staff is friendly and caring, sensitive to our dogs needs. The facility is always impeccably clean and Millie comes out looking great! Highly recommend Micah and Petco for grooming.

The pricing is VERY confusing.....Not sure if the Coupons that I'm sent, apply or not - for the product that I'm buying...Very little FULL CASES, were available to buy. And, few Staff; to get answers to questions about backstock.

Don’t come here for feeder insects, the live worm refrigerator had a noticeable smell and upon looking inside some of the cups there were a lot of black, dead and decomposing wax worms. When I went to check the calci-worms hoping for a different scenario there was noticeable mold in the cup.

Chrystal in the grooming department could use some customer service training. Saying “you’ve gotta be kidding me, someone’s in the office” and “see what they want” while a customer is trying to make an appointment is totally disrespectful. I wouldn’t trust my dog with her at all
