Marty the owner was super friendly and helpful. He was our Whitewater rafting guide and the owner of ONE. The rafting experience was 2 runs down the same stretch of the river that takes about 25 minutes each run. We were on the river when flow was about 650cfs so not super fast. 1000 and above according to Marty is when things get REALLY interesting. We still got to do the “Varsity” surfing rapid which was a lot of FUN so do what he says when he says it!Marty took the time to know our names and add the personal touch. You can tell he loves the community he is a part of. A couple of the pictures is the start of their vision for the town of Franklin...a whitewater feature park! We are looking forward to returning and checking it out when it’s finished. I think kayaks are the next adventure for us :) Thanks for the great experience!

The crew at Outdoor New England - ONE use what they sell themselves, paddling or camping and so many other adventures! They know the gear in and out and can answer all your questions. I will be back for some kayaking gear and recommend stopping in and checking the place out! They even have guided trips on the river for rafting, kayak lessons and I even think they are offering surf lessons on a New Hampshire River! Just an amazing shop and staff...

From getting necessary equipment to instruction on the foundations of whitewater kayaking, or even getting your drysuit repaired, this shop is the only ONE you want to go to! Marty, Joe, and everyone else not only take the time to learn your name, they are incredibly helpful in getting you what you need. They have a great selection of kayaks, equipment, and gear for those new to the sport as well as seasoned paddlers. Their kayaking instruction is phenomenal as well! Joe took a small group of us down the Upper Winnipesaukee river to teach us the basics of whitewater, from ferrying to catching an eddy, surfing a hole, and most importantly river safety. Marty has been teaching the rolling classes and he has helped me up my game to where I was able to roll in current at the whitewater park! They're an incredible resource to the entire region, and they're helping revitalize a town that had been struggling for many years with the creation of the whitewater park at Mill City Park.Whitewater isn't the only area they specialize in also. They have equipment for all types of kayaking, rafting, and offer rentals and shuttling for kayaks, as well stand up paddleboards and bicycle rentals, and instruction and tours for anything you want to do on the water with a paddle.Friendly, personable, passionate about the outdoors. That's them. That's ONE.

This place is fabulous!! If you're in the area, you definitely need to book an excursion with ONE! Our family (mom, dad, 2 boys ages 12 & 15) loved the rafting and tubing excursions. Due to the high water levels right now (July 2023), the tubing is different from the lazy river kind of tubing you're probably used to if you've done tubing before. However, the faster water was exactly what my kids loved about it. We've done a few white rafting trips and this rafting was right there at the top of the list. Marty, river guide extraordinaire, kept us safe and made the trip awesome. I appreciate the entire staff for their friendliness and welcoming attitudes. We felt at home at ONE from the moment we walked in the door. We're in the area for another few days and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up on another ONE adventure!!

This is an excellent outdoors shop and kayak/rafting store that is family run by great people. They also offer two water adventures, a quiet river and a whitewater. I did the quiet river, was beautiful, although a little slow in parts (was also in the middle of a drought), so I'll prob do the faster river next time. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about Outdoor New England. I was searching for a new Rockstar V playboat, but wasn't completely sold on buying. I worked with both Marty and Joe at ONE who were extremely responsive to my requests and went above and beyond to meet my needs. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat!

We had a group of 11 of us for a company organized white water rafting trip and had a fantastic time. The guides were terrific in describing what to do and not to do. They coached us well on how to paddle and gave the history of the river and town. You can tell they cared. Highly recommend this excursion as it is a lot of fun.

We loved experiencing a different section of the river including the horizon lines with a little extra excitement. Marty gave an accurate description of the river and how to handle each feature as well as encouraging us to take our time and have fun. We rented tandem kayaks and they were very comfortable, good condition, handled well, etc. We look forward to taking this river trip again!

An old friend and I went out white water rafting today, and we had the time of our lives out there on the Winnipesaukee River, making great end-of-summer memories and all. The folks at Outdoor New England are incredibly knowledgeable about what they do, and the entire business and its people just have really good vibes all around. Went down the river twice on the front side of the raft, it was the wildest ride I have ever been on! Marty was great with his instruction and made everything enjoyable and safe for everyone. We’ll be looking to join for another go in the winter!

Went in to the store looking for custom dry gear for the Husband. Was told numerous times how “expensive” everything was (by the owner; guess I must have been dressed down that day). Followed up with an email as advised for options. Heard nothing for 2+weeks. Sent measurements in yet another, follow up email asking for something custom. Follow up email response was “We’ll be back in touch.” Haven’t heard a thing 3+ weeks later. Too bad, as I was willing to pay whatever it took to get a full custom dry suit as a gift-I really wanted it for Father’s Day. I won’t (attempt) to do business here ever again. They clearly don’t want my money.

Recently took a whitewater kayaking class which was taught by Dan. I am an experienced kayaker but new to whitewater. This class was fabulous with lots of individualized instruction and geared to my skills and abilities. The class included included equipment rental.

I can't say all the good things I want to say about these guys because the post will be too long, and you all won't read it... But... Outdoor New England is the GO TO shop for all your white water kayaking needs. (They have more than WW gear too)Not sure if the sport is for you? Marty is excited to jump in the river and impart upon you the knowledge you need to have whether you buy any gear or not. You just can't find that anywhere else. And Joe, he can talk your ear off about all the cool places you should be paddling, and when. He's got the beta! I don't live in the area, but I've been to this shop twice now and each time ONE has gone above and beyond to make sure that I get the right gear to demo, have the right knowledge to use it, and have a good experience when I do! This last time Marty was on the river handing out pro tips that he could have been charging for in a private lesson. These folks are great people, doing what they love, and it shows!

Based on the other reviews it sounds like a great operation so I guess we just didn’t get their best unfortunately. Wife and I booked a swiftwater kayak fishing day trip for our anniversary last year, and what we got was a good bit less than what was advertised by the description of the trip on the site. The people were cool but it felt like they phoned it in. Followed up about the issue using the contact form on the site and never heard back.

Marty, the owner, took a couple friends and me on the ONE whitewater run on the Winnipesaukee River this past summer. It was SO fun, my first time doing any whitewater activity and it was the perfect introduction that I would certainly do again. It was cool to be able to try a new sport I wasn't sure of and not have to commit to a whole weekend of rafting up in Maine. Marty was super friendly and knowledgeable, the kind of person you meet and instantly want to be his friend. He and his community offer such an awesome welcoming vibe to Franklin. Highly recommend visiting ONE. Do one of their fun activities, buy some cool stuff, and have a great chat. Lastly, don't forget to support the other great small businesses located around ONE!

A friend and I reserved two single kayaks for the Wild and Scenic kayaking tour on the Winnipesaukee River and had a great time. Took us the full four hours to complete. Well worth the $45. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Super fun whitewater rafting experience. The distance is short for around half an hour on the river, but it is really intense. Also, we did the rafting twice with such a low price, our group all experience the fun paddling in the first row of the boat.

A very nice kyaking shop in Franklin NH. It caters more to white water as opposed to recreational kyaking. But this is perfect for tge Winni river just steps away from the shop.They have a decent selection of used and new gear.

Marty was top notch. Booked a 1/2 day lesson with a couple of friends to get the basics of river kayaking and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day. I highly recommend giving these guys a call if you want to spend a day having some fun and learning to kayak.
