We travelled to Mittersill Alpine Resort in Franconia Notch for my husband’s birthday. We were warmly greeted by Donna at the front desk. Our one bedroom condo on the second floor was fully equipped for our needs. We brought our own groceries and had all the cooking utensils we needed. The toaster needs updating for sure but it did the trick. Our view was amazing! We had a deck over looking the slopes of Cannon. Very clean. If you are looking for fancy, this is not the resort for you. It’s dated, yes, but very quiet and quaint. Great location to everything. The Baron’s Bar was fun on Friday night with a very bubbly bar tender. It’s after the season now so it’s limited. Not a big deal. The pool, 2 spas and sauna are also available. We didn’t use them but the looked nice. Also laundry on sight. There were other people there but we didn’t hear them. The only thing that I wasn’t thrilled with was the water. It was brownish so bring bottled to cook with and brush teeth etc. also, if you’re looking for a hot shower, it doesn’t get very hot. Will we come back? ABSOLUTELY! We lived our stay. Highly recommend and just plan ahead.

Beautiful location right in the White Mountains and my room had a full kitchen stocked with cookware, plates, and utensils, which is great as there aren't really any restaurants around. Bring your own food and you will be all set. There is a separate sofa bed in the room too. There was a view of Mt. Lafayette and Cannon Mountain right out the windows of my room. The property itself is a bit dated and in need of a refresh with narrow halls, small elevators, and some strange odors, but the room was pretty clean and comfortable. Wifi in my room wasn't great, but acceptable at 25-30 Mbps. Pub wasn't open during my stay there as I was there for a couple of weeknights in early April.

I went to Mittersill in mid-January for a quiet week away. Loved it! In addition to the amenities at the resort, there were a lot of restaurants, hiking, small towns, etc., within a short drive. My 1-bedroom unit was large with a queen-size bed, comfortable sitting area, dining room table for 4, full kitchen, and full bathroom. The resort is nestled in the White Mountains and the scenery is so beautiful. My room and the public areas were clean and well-maintained. I found out that my room had been fully renovated in 2022 with new carpets, appliances, furniture, and paint. Perhaps that made a difference as compared to a few other review comments I saw. For folks interested in a ski week, the Cannon Mountain base lodge is less than a mile away, Loon Mountain Resort and Bretton Woods are about 20 minutes away. My only concern was that the internet speed was fine for emails and searches but did not easily support streaming movies and TV shows. I just downloaded some shows on my cell phone while out exploring, connected my iPhone to the TV, and I was fine. Mittersill is a great resort for a quiet or ski week away in a beautiful area.

So where do I start? Lol. The location is great for all skiing that I will say, BUT the staff says they are not associated with any surrounding activities (cannon mountain .3 miles away) and you must talk to them and “they know nothing”…. Next is the place is suuuupppeerr dated and is desperate need of renovation. The rain water from outside leaks into the indoor pool in 2 places gross 🤢. The pool(minus water feature from leaks) and spas are nice and have a great view. BUT my final major gripe and why this place gets an overall 1 star is the hours for activities and staff. The pub was rarely open and for check out we were walking out the door at 10:03 and they called and threaten us with a $300 charge bec we checkout at exactly 10am….. my kids had a great time because of us improvising due to lack of snow and cold. While we stayed there it seemed there was a whopping 3 people staying there at the same time. The rules are cray strict and if you even come close to breaking one they threaten you will kicking you out. In this day and age there are much better places to stay and mittersill needs to update or close. By updating I mean physical and their staff other than the super cool bar tender/ front desk person. I feel like maybe 4 ppl work at this place as well overall.

My husband owns two units (214 and 215) and this is my second year staying here! We make this our annual Foliage trip.Mittersill is an absolute “Gem”! Checking in is a breeze, the sweet ladies make the first and last impression. Miss Amy checked us in last year and unfortunately didn’t get the lady’s name a couple weeks ago.Last year we stayed in Unit 214 and wanted to give Unit 215 a whirl. The unit was spacious enough, especially the kitchen. It’s only my husband and I, therefore we don’t need all the extra space. There are two hot tubs and even though some walking is involved, let me say the water is all worth it!The resort itself is appointed very nicely, it’s very serene and there are beautiful views when staying in Unit 215.There are washing machines and dryers within the resort and they are reasonably priced @ $1.75.There is no AC; however the heat kicks! My husband and I are already looking forward to staying here next year! ❤️ PS we spent our Honeymoon here!Noteworthy details: There are plenty of activities to do. Hiking, swimming in the indoor pool, hot tubs, fitness room, even a game room!If you stay in Unit 215, you have your own parking spot! Very convenient if you or spouse packs everything, including the kitchen sink! 🤣🤣🤣You are required to place the parking pass on the driver side dashboard. There are times you’ll need to unlock the main front door. The hours are posted.Enjoy the stay! To me, it’s luxurious.

Our stay is always nice because the location is unbeatable and we enjoy seeing the familiar employees & owners every year we come! I believe it is time for updates because the owners and guests deserve more. There is so much potential for this resort but it seems time for a new Board of Directors and new management that can bring this resort back to life. A new face at the front desk was really nice. Rebecca went out of her way to help us. I wish the Baron's Den was open everyday, we enjoyed being in there when it was open. Maintenance does a good job with what they have to work with but updates are overdue.

I've been going since 1979.. It's not fancy but that's what we love about it. Grandkids have a great time. Plenty of things to do out and about. Great hiking just down the road. The Basin, Artisan ledge.. The Christmas pictures are from the Christmas Loft where we go every year!Rooms: they are slowly updating. They are short staffed just like everyone else. Staff needs to do a little better whencleaning. I will always give the benefit of the doubt and know it is hard to keep up with it all when short staffed.

Resort with a lot of character. Rambling, multi-level building with an indoor pool, outdoor pool in the summer, hot tub, exercise room, board game room, small arcade, and a pub on-site (only open some days). Most of the staff we have interacted with have been nice, and they have been accommodating with various friends coming in and out over the course of our stay.

This place needs lots of updates, the two rooms we have are vastly different and each have their ups and downs. One has a large spacious kitchen with plenty of counter space and the other has literally no counter space at all. Prep must be done on the table in an odd corner of the living room. There are No AC's... if you go in the summer bring an extra fan or two! You need keys to get anywhere and be prepared for a hike through the hallway maze to find the pool.Personally I'd skip the food at the pub, it's incredibly overpriced for what you get.The facility is clean, and the view is incredible!

We stayed in a very cozy chalet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The water was always hot, and we had no issue with the heating or fireplace. There were plenty of games to play and books to read, but the WiFi is not suitable for gaming or streaming...so be prepared to use it just for social media and emails. The staff members are not very knowledgeable about skiing, which was hard for us as newbies, but we were able to figure it out just fine. The property itself is beautiful and is not far from hiking trails and places to eat.I would DEFINITELY come here again in either winter or summer.

This place is lovely, went here for a mini vacation with others and we loved it. A view into the slopes is nice the sun hits well and they have a lot of activities to do. The night sky full of stars is lovely. Reason why I give it four stars is that the cell service is terrible but they have wifi so that makes up for the bad reception. It also looks like they're not keeping up with this place. The inside is adorable but the pool needs to be kept up so does the tennis court and the basketball court. It's slowly being run down but let's hope they bring this place back up to five stars.

It is a great place, middle of the mountains in New Hampshire but it has several problems. The wifi sucks and you can only use it to text and use social media, the rooms are fine but extremely dirty as we found ticks on the floor I went in April so not from when they usually can get in. Pool is ok but small, hot tubs are pretty good but the showers are falling apart. Food in the area is good but I didn’t have the Baron’s Pub so I can’t give a fair review there.

We stay here every year and the scenery is beautiful. The place is nostalgic. Do not expect a five star hotel. Some parts of it are a bit outdated. It is not a hopping place and the amenities are "okay". It is a great place to use as a base while you explore beautiful New Hampshire.

Girlfriend and I stayed for a weekend. When we talked to the girl at booking we thought we were getting a fairly small room, especially for the price we were paying. When we checked in, we had to ask the staff if there was some mistake because it was much larger than we expected. There is no air conditioning, but we never felt that it was needed. They had wall mounted fans that worked well if we needed them, too. Everything was very clean and well-organized. The pools and spa area were really nice as well. It was just a short drive from the town and all of the hiking trails. I highly recommend this place.

I have been coming to this resort on and off for years, during the spring/summer "off season". It is a little outdated, but I like it, and find it cozy. The staff is nice, and friendly. The little bar downstairs is great. It is in a convenient location to reach many things in the area. In fact, you can get to the entrance to artist's bluff on foot from the resort. It is a timeshare resort, but does offer other lodging options.

Rustic resort with great views of the surrounding mountains. A bar, game room, sun room, arcade, indoor/outdoor pool, jacuzzi, and workout room are a very good plus! Every employee we encountered were kind and enjoyed conversation! Only issue was that the basketball and tennis courts have essentially been abandoned

We have just spent 5 beautiful days at the Mittersill Alpine Resort. We have had our time share for over 20 yrs. Love our one bedroom unit. Go there for the quiet and restful atmosphere and the view of Franconian Noch . Gorgeous!! My main issue has always been to many rules and regulations!! If you have children, quiet time is from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m!!😊 Probably will not be going there to often anymore, my husband has vertigo and the altitude is an issue. Do not recommend this resort during summer. No Air Conditioning!! Fan's only. We were there for 5 days did not see one person in hall or lobby to talk with. Made me feel like we were in the building alone, no security, little scary for me!! Front desk not friendly atmosphere. Don't bother with friendly conversation, not interested!😊 Security on unit out dated. Still use chain lock instead of bolt and lock!

Our family really enjoyed our experience at the Mittersill. It is a rustic lodge that embraces the Alpine spirit. The staff was friendly and everything was incredibly clean. The location is amazing with easy access to area attractions. It is evident that there is pride in the care of this lodge.

I've come here for 30 years my parents have come for 40 years, it's alright every year I hope they will update something or put some money back into this place. The rooms a ok just everything is old and uncomfortable. The spa area is sad and the restrooms smell of urine. If your looking for inexpensive and close to cannon mountain I would stay here but if you can spend a little extra cash DO IT!

The location is beautiful,a wonderful view. The resort itself feels outdated but clean. They have a tennis, basketball, and volleyball court so if you're interested you should bring your own ball. Staff is friendly and the place feels private

Staff were extremely nice and accommodating. My husband and I stopped in at last minute, we were just passing through, and every place within a 50 mile radius was full since it was during leaf season. We liked the resort so well we ended up staying an extra day and sightseeing.

Nice, quiet resort. We stay every year with friends. Not a place for those looking for night life, but centrally located to many attractions. Great for families with a pool and full kitchens.
