I stayed at site number four for a week in september 2023. Site number 4 is completely unlevel. I have never had to Jack up the side of my trailer as much as I have at this site. (check out the picture). As you can see from the video, the bugs are intense. Intense! Bring bugnetting and bug screening. The showers are coin-operated and provide great water flow, but are expensive when compared to other new hamster state parks. There is good cell service at this park. I have AT&T and had 4G service with 4 bars.I spoke with others who had Verizon and they reported good service also..

Beautiful view of Lake Umbagog, New bath house with toilets, showers ($.25/min) and laundry. Canoe and kayak rentals, well stocked camp store. Would definitely go back. 30 amp only with water at most sites, convenient dump station on the way out. Pets on leash are allowed. $35/night.

This is a very nice campground. There are 34 campsites with water and electric and 2 rental cabins. There are an additional 32 remote sites out on the lake. The remote sites are accessible by boat only and have compotible toilets, firerings and a table. Many have tent platforms. Very few remote sites are pet friendly. By the way, the lake is beautiful as well.

What a spot... site 1D, that is, while this entire CG is also wonderful. Aside from the "4 down front," the sites here are quite large offering ample room to relax & enjoy.Restrooms: Super bright, fresh & clean.

Tucked away in far northern NH, straddling the Maine border, this small campground is a hidden gem in the middle of God’s country. Just a couple dozen or so RV sites, many right near the water. There’s also tenting sites and remote sites accessible only via trail or boat. Beautiful and peaceful.

Second time here in 2 years! Load the canoe and paddle a couple miles to the remote campsite for 2 nights. Last time we had our own private island. This time we're out on a penninsula. For thirty bucks a night, it can't be beat!

Just an over-nighter, but would definitely recommend. Staff was great, had someone come over and clean out the fire ring and he was also very nice. Had the dog along, walked around the campground to investigate every tree. Sat on the wooden swing near the beach for a to take the pictures I am posting here. Dogs must be leashed an cannot go onto the beach. The swing is in a large grassy area right before the beach. Very quiet, friendly place. Will definitely go back.

Great park, campsites are nice with power outlets and water, bathrooms nearby. Staff is friendly and doesn't bother you. Can't beat the area, scenery, or wildlife.

Beautiful campground. Has boat docks. The office was kind enough to all us to park our car and spend some time there. Nice view to see fall colors.

Nice spot if you have a boat. Very clean and friendly staff Remote campsites are probably best. Main campsites are basically on Route 26 so you hear logging trucks all the time.

I never leave reviews for anything unless it's Amazon product wink wink. The faculty r very friendly and the people who r camping. The restrooms are super clean to the tee. The water is just right for kids it's super shallow... it's perfect for canoeing and kayaking place if your into that sort of thingRestrooms: Clean to the tee

The lodge for bathrooms, showers, laundry, dishes was extremely nice and clean. The lake is absolutely beautiful and staff are super friendly! The only bummer is that you have to pay for showers. If you're coming from Canada make sure to bring US quarters!!

Absolutely amazing camp spot for nature lovers! small campground with beach access, dog friendly, very nice staff, well kept, new & super clean bathrooms/showers, remote camp sites along the shore. Kayaks have seen better days but functional. Rental $30 for 4h. Street can be noisy depending on your camp site. Some camp site are small. Site 41 has direct water access. No trails around lake

This place was an absolute gem. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and informative. We went out on a rainy day and one of the park employees couldn't have been anymore accommodating. He was a little worried about how drenched we'd be while renting a canoe and offered us two rain jackets for our adventure due to us not being prepared. I will always remember this experience!Amazing trip - thank you so much!

We spent 3 nights at campground #37 in Sept. 2016. Our trip consisted of 2 couples, 3 dogs, and 2 boats (one fishing boat, one canoe). We liked that our camp site was secluded, only accessible by boat. This allowed us to let the dogs rampage around without worrying about disturbing other campers. The whole area is a beautiful. As for the camp ground itself - the showers and bathrooms were what camping usually is, a little dirty. The firewood was a little pricey at $6 a bundle. You have to pay $10 extra for each person, each night, over the 2 person included in the camp ground. Even after all this - it was easy to launch the boat and come and go as we pleased. We loved the privacy and would definitely come back again to check out one of the sites on the islands.

Umbagog is an amazing getaway from daily life. We stayed on the Big Island and canoed/boated out there with trolling motors with our group. Sites are very remote and in general very far away from one another...we didn't see anyone the whole 4 days. If you don't have transportation it's my understanding they can arrange with the park in advance to take you and your gear out there. Highly recommend it. Very few boats on the lake. Motorboats are allowed..somehow...in a national wildlife refuge...but do your neighbors and nature a favor and either paddle or take a trolling motor. Saw very few boats regardless.I can't speak to the landside of the campground, as we just passed through, but it did have a small beach. It seems that the sites are pretty blah, more for RVs than tents, at least from what we could see, they didn't look secluded at all but there may be more hidden that we didn't see. Modern running water facilities landside as well including the best state campground bathroom I've ever been in.Do yourself a favor and stay at one of the remote sites though...you won't regret it.

I can't really rate the main campground itself. The remote site I was on was awesome. I explored a few more and they looked equally good. The campground office staff and boat pilots were outstanding. They were friendly and gave me alot of information about Umbagog Lake before I went camping there for the first time ever. It definitely helped given that I was going to one of the remote sites.

A few staff members where quiet rude and unprofessional, one staff member brought his dog and left it in his car for his entire shift, when I expressed concern he said " it's my dog, he is fine, been out a few times" another employee said "it has water", why not bring the dog inside with you?Water had an odor too it, road could use some upgrades, lots could be more level.Very quiet, great place for kids, beach is small but sandy and shallow. Nice not having loud neighbors and a time for families too reconnect without all the game rooms, pools , and basketball , truly camping experience, a time too disconnect from electronics, T.V and internet. We will return, hope they keep this campground as it is and perhaps some staff training on professionalism.

Umbagog is like no other place I've been in the New England area. This Campground is truly a Hidden Gem. Whether camping in the Maine Campground or having reservations and access to the remote sites, this whole place is fantastic and Incredibly well maintained. Speaking to park staff, they have said how proud they are of how really unchanged this area is even compared to the 80s and 90s. I look forward to the next time I am able to come back to This Little Slice of Heaven Again!

One of my wife and I's favorite places on earth. Wonderful staff and ground. Umbagog is a fantastic lake with plenty of outdoor adventures. Good for RVs, tenting, cabins and even remote off-site locations.

Probably my best camping experience so far. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, and the lake, wow. We opted for a remote site and it was remote. We didn't hear another human the entire time, just loons and other wildlife. I have never seen stars like that anywhere else. And on our way out, we saw two bald eagles. We're planning a longer stay this summer, it's truly a special place.

Great campground but not managed very well. Cars blocking road making backing into your site a real challenge, and dogs allowed off leash. Mfr road by in golf cart several times in one case and never had the two blocking cars moved. One guy went and spoke with one guy. Car continued to block.Off leash dogs, well Not good when you dont care to hv unknown dogs running up to you! Nice beach, though cluttered with watercraft. Def call before you get there if you need to rent a kayak or canoe. Grounds and facilities are beautifully maintained.

Hot showers for cold days, you can hear the loons chatting across the lake at night. Small sights can accommodate two tents and a canopy perfectly.

Great NH park. Good boat launch, picnic area, swimming beach and rest room facilities. But that is just the start. The remote sites are primative and wonderful and the staff couldn't be better. Lake Umbagog has lots of undeveloped nooks and crannies to explore by kayak. Good bucket list campground.
