Love the coffee, food, staff, supported causes, and atmosphere so much that I recently joined the Board. Everything about the cafe is uplifting and positive. Check it out if you haven't.

Do you like coffee, tea, milkshakes, chocolate, lattes, and more? The Freedom Cafe offers ethically sourced quality beverages at a reasonable price - all supporting ending human trafficking. The volunteers and staff are super friendly and helpful. Every Wednesday there is an open mic night that anyone can participate in; they are a perfect time to hang out with friends and having some drinks. Support a great cause and feel good doing it!

This is the only coffee shop I've found in a roughly 15 mile radius around here that consistently makes a quite good latte. (Most of the competition around here burns their lattes...). These guys also have some really good crepes and a huge tea selection - plus you're supporting a good cause!

Volunteer based, verified fare trade sourced, working on recommended donations, great coffee, teas and kombucha, great music and vibe, and all proceeds go toward putting an end to human trafficking.

Good Japanese gyokuro green tea. One of the very few places where staff actually knows how to steep tea! Modest tea selection, but good quality.Plenty of seating in a comfortable "hidden campus cafe" sort of atmosphere.

This place is wonderful for breakfast or lunch and coffee/tea. We love that it supports such an important cause. The fall crepe special (caramel apple) is so yummy!

The world needs more cafes like this! Great location in downtown Durham, the cafe is incredibly warm and welcoming. There are also some comfy, well spaced outdoor seats if you want to get some fresh air. The service is on another level - just top notch. Coffee is fantastic. I also love this place because it doesn't feel as corporate and "plastic" as the chain cafes like Dunkin or Starbucks.

Absolutely fantastic nitro cold brew, within 2 visits became one of my favorite coffee shops on the seacoast! And their baked goods are incredible. A must visit location for caffenation if you're in the seacoast area!

Absolutely lovely. Small and cozy, just off of the oval - one of those places introverts would retreat to on the regular as it’s normally quiet enough (tho does get busy and lively at times but passes the vibe check, esp. with the recent opening of open mics on Wednesdays). Best lattes in town, imo. They provide alternative milks for those who are vegan. I highly recommend trying their crepes, particularly the caprese salad crepe - I was skeptical at first but all the ingredients have been continuously so, so fresh that it makes your taste buds come alive with the balsamic glaze. The crepes are better than anything in Portsmouth. Would love to see them open further into the day so I can visit more outside of work. Plus, they support really important causes with their proceeds and are staple activists. ✨

Raspberry scones bring me fine memories. Today I got one with a fantastic almond milk latte. Great little hole-in-the-wall spot in downtown Durham.

I just ordered matcha latte and it is good! I loved their Americano, too. They use quality teas. Really nice place to study and hang out with friends. Also you help the non profit cafe to fight human trafficking.

Best coffeeshop in the Seacoast. Insanely good coffee (rivals cups I've had in Italy) brewed in one of 4 hipster-approved methods for optimal flavor & delicious teas of all kinds from White Heron. Everything is ethically-sourced, and by a reasonably-priced suggested donation that goes toward ending human trafficking. Cute ambiance with tables & chairs and couches in a spacious, sunny, casual room and nice coffeeshop music. Staff are friendly volunteers. Not many snacks available (chocolate bars, and a few baked goods) but they don't seem to frown on you bringing in your own snacks/meals if you buy a drink from them.Highly recommended. I rarely go to any other cofffeeshop.

How about a shot of social wokeness with your coffee or tea? This cozy little jewel, nestled on the edge of the University of New Hampshire campus, provides a laid back atmosphere, an attentive and caring staff, and excellent hot and cold beverages. Donations are the rule, justice the cause, and caring the key.

Hardly anywhere can you get a cup of coffee for two dollars these days, and never for this quality or to have one of those dollars going to end human trafficking! Best coffee shop in Durham, in my opinion. Located next to UNH campus and stacked with student volunteers. Très chic.

This cafe supports anti-trafficking efforts in New Hampshire. As a natural born cynic, I am always suspicious of places that claim that that's the case, but in this case, I can confirm they are actively helping victims of trafficking and filling niches in provision that are not otherwise catered for. If you're in the area, go and support them.
