First time ever we had to board our diabetic cat. I was nervous dropping her off but the staff really made sure she got her insulin shots on time and she seemed to absolutely love the place. We had issues getting her back into her carrier upon pickup because she didn't seem like she wanted to leave. Definitely will be using them in the future and was very happy with the staff.

Boarded our 3 dogs and 1 cat for almost a week twice in one month. Everything went as expected. The staff has been polite and courteous, plus gave me good info when I called for status updates. Two thumbs up!

My dog - 2.75 year old yellow lab - loves it here!! He goes to daycare once or twice a week, sometimes three times and has been for about 5 months. The team at the daycare are amazing! He always has a good day and is tired after - can sleep for our whole hour long ride home! The photos they post are awesome and let me know what he's doing and that he's having a great time! I especially love seeing him photographed with another dog he knows - they love to hang out together whether at day care or other places.

We have trusted our dogs with GB kennel in the past years; we don't mind the drive from Manchester, but this last time the experience was awful. We left our dogs for over a week, and only upon bringing them home we noticed that one had developed a very nasty skin infection. There was a lot of pus and skin was literally falling off of him. When we called asking for explanations, the person just said that they noticed the water bowl was being knocked over often, so we suspect the dogs were left sitting in a pool of water, which caused the infection. The dog with the infection spent all the time licking its wound (until we put a cone on him), so it is very hard to believe that no one noticed it. The infection took antibiotics, ointment, steroids and two weeks to heal; considering that the vet is the same compound, we could not believe that no one had the thought of asking his professional opinion, and left us dealing with it after we picked them up; the infection - and the dog's suffering - could have easily been treated by the vet promptly. The total for the stay was $895. After the fact and our calls asking explanations, the vet did offer to visit the dogs free of charge and offered the prescriptions. We were very disappointed with the lack of care on our dogs and the professionalism of the staff entrusted with their care.

I have been bringing my dog to GBK for a couple of years now for grooming and boarding and I have nothing but positive things to say. I am always welcomed by a smiling front desk worker and usually my dog loves when she sees Tam working. Michelle in grooming has always done a phenomenal job with my doodles haircuts as well. Also, how wonderful is it when you leave your pet and see a picture of them on the Facebook site playing outside with their friends. I would highly recommend Great Bay Kennel to anyone looking for quality care for their pet. Thanks for all you do!!

We could tell how well treated our doggy was. She actually wagged her tail as we drove back in for her forgotten bed. The staff we met were really nice and loved working there. Will use them again.

I have brought my Persian cat here twice before for a lion cut and Heather (who bought longer works here) had always done a fabulous job. She said my cat was excellent and could come back any time. Well she doesn’t work at great bay anymore and this morning I took my cat for the same lion cut shave this time by a different groomer Alison who cut my cat THREE TIMES and had to bring him to the vet next door to be examined and get his cuts glued. She then had the audacity to tell us that maybe next time he should be brought to the vet first for “light sedation”. No maybe Alison has NO BUSINESS grooming animals. This was extremely stressful for my cat and for my family.

We moved here from another state and were concerned about the adjustment of our dog to new surroundings and unfamiliar faces. Lucky for us, we found Great Bay Kennel! Our dog goes to daycare here once a week, which means when we have to go out of town without him, it's natural to board him here as well. Instead of sadness that we're dropping him off, he's excited to see the kennel staff (who know him by name) which makes the experience so much easier on all of us. Can't say enough good things!

The staff here are extremely helpful and friendly. I needed a last minute kennel for my 4 year old lab mix. The paperwork was simple and my dog had a wonderful time. I highly reccomend this place for daycare and kennel.

I highly recommend you pick ANY other place to board your cat. I chose this place based on the excellent reviews. It was a last minute scheduling, and was also the closest place to my Dover home.I initially called to make sure that they had separate facilities for cats and dogs. (My cat has never been around other animals and I didn’t know how he’d react). I guess there was a miscommunication bc by “separate”, they only meant “across the hall”....well within earshot of loud barking dogs and other upset cats (all of which you can clearly hear from the main desk). While I was filling out paperwork I (thankfully) decided to just do a day boarding, rather than the 3 days I was planning. I did not want to leave him there at all, but I had movers coming to clear out my apartment 30 minutes after the kennel opened.I watched as they put him in a “cat condo” which sounds luxurious but is actually maybe the size of 2 cat kennels pushed together. “2 stories” means the kennels are on top of each other, NOT that each kennel is 2 stories.I called to pay for his boarding around 4pm, because I wasn’t sure if I’d make it before 6pm, which is when their computers shut down for the night. They told me he had just been resting, which isn’t too unusual when he is in a new place. He is very adventurous but takes a little time to get used to a new environment.I got there shortly after 6 to pick him up and he is literally laying in his crate, almost exactly as I had left him. When I asked if he ever came out, they said “oh yeah, he came out for a little while”, which relieved me a little.Then as I’m leaving, they hand me one of his toys saying “careful, it’s wet. We had to clean it”. I look at it and there are specks of cat vomit all over it. I say “oh he got sick???” And they just were like “yeah”. Great.My problems were:- the cat facilities are extremely exaggerated on their website.- the “fish tank for mental stimulation” is across the hall from the ‘slightly-larger-than-shelter’ kennels, which most cats probably don’t notice due to all the other things going on. I also didn’t see any bird feeders, so I doubt my cat saw them either.- they waited until I was almost out the door to inform me that my perfectly healthy 5 year old cat got sick in the 8 hours he was there. He hardly ever throws up. (Would they have even told me if the evidence wasn’t still all over his toy?)-they “cleaned” said toy... yet was still covered in vomit...either actually clean it or throw it away. (I took pictures before throwing it out for evidence)- While I was picking him up, the staff was literally running foot races to and from the buildings instead of actually taking care of the animals. (I did see some staff taking the dogs for walks... maybe they should play with the cats too instead of racing each other around the property?)I will take some responsibility... I should have read the reviews better, since they’re all about dogs-which I guess they take better care of. I also should have visited ahead of time, though I didn’t really have time since I am moving across the country in 2 days and just needed someone to look after my cat for a night or 2.He is back at home now, a little stressed due to a mostly empty apartment, but I’d rather have him here stressed than throwing up all the time at this awful facility. Luckily it was only $10 or I’d be requesting my money back. If you love your cat, don’t bring them here.
