Shopped there today for last time. Stopped in at 7am on way home from work and Planet Fitness. Needed to buy cereal and something to start in crackpot for supper. The cereal prices where incredibly expensive, settled for store brand Rasin Bran and Wheaties a dollar more than Market Basket. Went to meat section selected a pork loin from a group of half a dozen loins that were all marked down in a range of $6-7. The prices highlighted in yellow. I go to the self check out. Scan the loin, it scans as $6.23 the MARKED price, as the loin goes into the bag it sticks onto the bag and starts to pull off. In the you cannot make this up a Shaws employee wearing a witch hat literally swoops over takes the loin from me says it is wrong, the marked and scanned price, she scans it same thing, she then says this isn't right again, and just leaves going back to the meat area. So I wait knowing there are all these other loins marked with similar prices. Another associate comes over and asks me if I need help, I explain what just happened and add how crazy this seems. A couple minutes later I am told she is coming back, she reappears without the witch hat but still with an attitude, she voids out the scanned price and shows me the newly relabeled loin for now $16.23 exactly $10 more and barks that there are no pork loin sales this week. At which point I say why are all the others marked in yellow special price. She repeats nothing is on sale this week. And I walk away, that is blatant price tampering, bait and switch. My time was wasted but not my money. Last time at Derry Shaws for me. The trick or treat is on them not me.

Again, it is too high on prices. I can't see spending $3-$4 more on products that cost less at Market Basket. It makes no sense to me. Shaws is good for buying the 3 for deals. Personally, I don't shop much here. But hey some people love it. My son shops online and that really works for him. I believe it's really reasonable to go to online and shop.

I’m so overjoyed with my visit to Shaws today. I put in a last minute order Yesterday, to hopefully pick up the cake today. The bakery associates were so helpful, and allowed me to slide the cake order in. Well I was able to pick up the cake today earlier than scheduled!! I was so excited to see how absolutely BEAUTIFUL the cake is, the designers name is Nicole, she did such an amazing job! I could not be happier right now, she deserves recognition for her skills, because she is super talented!! Very happy customer, my son is going to scream when he sees his birthday cake!! Thank you Nicole, and the bakery team who made this possible in such short time. I’m so happy, you all truly made my week!!

The staffs education at this location is mind blowing… the pasta sale I purchased was 2.99 each but if you buy 5 or more it’s 1.99 each. Which I had 5 of these items.It wasn’t ringing up so the team lead or some sort of head over the cashier comes over trying to figure the math out… easy subtract 1 dollar for each item… so 5 dollars off the total. I had to walk her through this 🙄.She Manuel takes 5 dollars off, then Hits enter and I go to pay and it takes another 5 off meaning the cashier never hit total to activate the deal in the first place 😑Please take the calculator away from these kids in school

Amazing! I stopped in at Shaws about 3 in the afternoon on a weekday because I needed seltzer and macadamia nuts, and I was surrounded by really old people, and what I took to be folks from a halfway house. I was surprised that this crowd was not at Market Basket for the lower prices. That aside- great selection, excellent produce and nice staff. Highly recommended

I like Shaws. It can be more expensive for some things but sales are hood, produce always looks good and their fish counter doesn't smell bad like almost every Market Basket I walk into. Plus, much wider aisles, and it's very close to my home. All in all, I'll pay a little extra for those conveniences.

This is my least favorite Shaws to shop at. Can’t go too late or the produce department will literately be empty, 0 product!!! Lots of bare shelves throughout the store as well. There is never enough check outs, which I barely use anymore because the bagging is also awful! Service desk people seem to always be bothered if you need their assistance. Deli staff is never around, always waiting for help.

Very expensive but it's 1 minute from my house so end up there from time to time. Tried to buy two 7 inch cake rounds, unfrosted cake, and they wanted to charge me $22.99 because they were being dispensed in a plastic cake container. Wish it was more affordable.

I love Shaws. Good selections. Yes it's more expensive than MB but I feel it's worth it. The best part is no crowds and you can check your own items.

The store is fine, and very open and easy to navigate. The prices are high but you still get a worse experience than at Hannaford or Market Basket, as the store is old looking and dingy. I would never do a full shopping trip here. The only benefit to the high prices is that there's never anyone there. I really wish they would install self checkout, as they never seem to have enough cashiers even though there's barely any customers.

Live locally and unfortunately Shaws is the only grocery store on our side of town. So far they’ve ruined my Easter with expired lamb and I got attitude when I had called the meat department to let them know. The it was expired treats that I had to go exchange but everything on the shelf was also expired except the one in the back. Now the dog food that I gave both of my dogs is 2 months past date and they have diarrhea and terrible stomach pains. Partly on me for being in a rush and not checking the date but we should be able to trust our grocery stores and that they wouldn’t sell something that was expired.

The difficulty with Shaw's has always been their pricing. The store is conveniently located in Hood Plaza, has a decent selection, and the service is typically good. Volume of patrons is noticeably down over the past few years, and you have to wonder how long they will keep the store open. Meats and produce selection is pretty good, but I never do a full shopping here.

They only have 2 riding carts for handicapped patrons. Very seldom are they both charged and of course that was the case today. I guess I shouldn't complain because I did end up with one that was charged. Their sale prices are great but their regular prices are high. When I was cashing out I used my debit card and I couldn't see the machine very well but when I got home I was looking at my receipt and noticed a $5.00 charge for a donation to a charity. I called right away and they explained that when I was checking out I must have hit the button for $5.00. They said when I come back to bring my receipt and they will refund the donation. Another time I was in there and the cart I was in died on me when I was up the back right by the meats. My carriage was pretty full and one of the men who worked in the meat dept came out and just kind of neatened up the.meats. I asked him if he would call up the front and ask if someone could either bring me a cart that was charged or a regular cart as I have COPD and I wear Oxygen 24/7. He told me he couldn't do that. No explanation, just that he couldn't do that. There was another man in the area where they cut up the meat so it wasn't as if he was leaving the meat dept empty. It was on a Saturday afternoon about 3:30 -3:45. There was hardly anyone in the store so I certainly don't find all of your employees very helpful. Oh by the way I am talking about the Derry, NH store.

Service very poor. Pricing error and cashier was not sure of the price. Asked for manager and none could be found. Decided not to buy the product (two small bags of candy marked down 75%) We purchased $85 in groceries and left. As we started to drive away, an employee gave us the candy and stated we correct. Three customers stood in line for 10 to 15 minutes waiting for someone to resolve the pricing issue.

Many of their prices even the ones that they advertise is on sale are higher than what I can find in other markets. Only shop there for a sale item I've verified as a better deal than elsewhere.

Deals at Shaws are excellent if you know how to jump through the hoops to get them. This location is dated but usually not crowded. Staff are always friendly, though popular items often go out of stock during sales. Has pharmacy, bakery, deli, and reduced section at the back. Joe at the deli making chickens is my favorite person at this location. Be sure to visit Joe and ask about chicken deals.Update Feb 2022: Still good through the pandemics. Deals are more rare now and inconsistent. Federally supplied free N95 masks are not available at this location as they are at other Shaw's.

I love the staff of the pharmacy so much!! I come here all the time. There very courteous and always ready when they say it's going to be. The store itself is clean and nice. I'm a big makeup person but they dont have much of a selection here besides 3 brands but not the whole line of anything. But overall I just get my makeup online, so I would reccomend this store especially if your looking for an affordable option for prescriptions.

"sales" didn't even ring up and sale items rang up higher than there normal prices. 8$ for a 4$ sale item. 9$ for a 2$ cabbage. So everything that I "saved" on other items made this transaction null and void.Also items are 10-25% more than other stores.Save your the me and money shop else where unless you have no choice.

That was the first time that I've been in that Shaw's in Derry I had the most pleasant experience to the cashier named Cheryl that does not speak she is a beautiful woman congratulations Shaw's for what you do for people

Not the best Shaw's around. Shaw's is a place that I don't visit often because the prices are high. So when I go to a Shaw's, I expect to at least be offered a clean, enjoyable shopping experience for the prices I'll pay This shaw's was not well stocked and not well organized, although in fairness the apparent lack of organization might be because I'm not used to shopping at this one. Anyway, the bottom line is that most Shaw's I've been to offer a pleasant shopping experience, including being fully in stock.

The quality of a stores salad bar usually tells you what you need to know. In this case, it's OK. Lettuce is usually wilted or soggy. Favorite ingredients are often out and need restocking. The hours are good and it's close to me which is nice. If not for that I'd probably shop another store.

My experience was embarrassing to say the least because of Covid I was laid off from my job and now I use EBT, the kid at the register did not know how to properly put that it was ebt in the system therefore it kept saying not authorized, although I had a balance on there which was more than enough to pay for what I was buying. I eventually had to just pay with my debit card to save myself the embarrassment of trying any more times. Train your employees better especially the young ones please thank you

Shaws is not my primary grocery store. Market Basket and Hannford are closer. However, Shaws has a more wide open store layout and better selection. The #1 drawback is price. Shaws seems to ke anyway to be about 20% more. Sure, there will always be good deals and sale items. So, shop around like we do and save a few bucks. I would never do my entire food shopping at Shaws.

Shaw's has a good selection and decent prices, the staff is friendly enough. This particular Shaw's in Derry is cleaner than most, the only thing lacking is some of the more fresh specialty items and the seafood can be a little sub-par. Otherwise you'll find most everything you might need.

Horrible people work @ Plaistow Shaws especially the older woman in the deli/prepared food. I hate going in there when she is covering the deli. She doesn't like women. But if your a man she will wait on you immediately. Nasty old #@$*
