People are rude long lines to check out. With only three registers open there never seems to be more! lots of Items are always in the wrong place, Usually where you can't read the whole label, yet you can see the price clearly. where the price is lower but the price is wrong. (Similar item) You can read the price not what the item is. Items are stocked in the wrong place The item usually ends up being more. It happens almost every time I've gone there. Always noticed it when it's too late to fix. If I caught at the register they get rude and upset. This has happened way more than expected. Rather than deal with rude people I've just gone elsewhere.

On one side of things, some of the prices are extremely high and I tend to veer away from Shaws.On the other hand, I was pleased to find some hot food that I could take home when our power went out in January. I was in a hurry to get home and the line moved quickly so I was able to get out the door in a few minutes with no hassle.Their public bathroom is of inferior quality and the toilets sometimes need to be flushed at least ten times and this is degrading and dehumanizing.I sometimes shop here because I resent having to cross the street to go to the other stores.

went to so many stores that did not have the type of reigns i purchase. this one did ! i was so happy i bought a whole handful i’m surpised none fell. from maine so not used to bags. was happy to get one.reccomend going here for ice, and camping gear over walmart. Go to walmart for swimwear though.

There is always some kind of scam that prevents you from getting sale prices in the flyer. You either didn’t spend enough or the register don’t recognize your number and if you don’t catch it you pay twice as much. I just drove 10 mile to get a special and was told I didn’t spend enough on other items to get a discount on an $80 piece of meat. Can’t wait for market basket to open because Shaws. YOU WILL CLOSE

Shaws is shaws, my local store is always very clean with great stock. They have an amazing floral section!! The house plants are always in excellent condition & never worry about bringing home any plant parasites. They have a great selection of orchids. The fresh flowers last & that selection is also amazing, they even have the wood solo flowers that lost forever & look so much like roses. I have used the pharmacy for over 20 years & judy is the best 😊.

Jun 2022: The checkout experience is always horrible. Some cashiers are friendly, others are rude, but the real problem is that there's never more than 2 checkouts open, yet they have people packing bags. Why not let the customers pack their own bags and open more checkouts, or even better, get self checkouts.Editing Review Feb 2023 as they have now added Self Checkouts that work really well and make the whole shopping experience much better.

Priced above competitors. Selection was good in prepared food/deli. Special credit for ready to go salads 🥗 sometimes it's the only place to find some cheeses 🧀 and wines 🍷Good staff, very helpful.

Shaw's a affiliate of Star Market has done extensive remodeling to remain a valuable resource once the New Market Basket opens. Also Shaw's has a satellite Osco Drug store with a knowledgeable and dedicated staff. Some of the pharmacists are only there to fill scheduling voids. However they also exemplifies a commitment to excellence and professionalism.

Whether in shop or via delivery, produce has been very hit or miss on freshness. VERY disappointed with Shaws delivery lately. Multiple orders have been delayed, and I just had my second order where it simply didn't show up at all with no communication on what happened or assistance in rescheduling until I had to reach out. When I do get my orders on time, several have had missing items, rotten/expired, or damaged items. Yet, lately I haven't even been able to log what items were damaged in their system for a refund. Very hit or miss; even though I've paid for FreshPass through part of next year, I'm seriously considering just taking the hit and going elsewhere.

friendly, efficient the lines weren't too long. Prices are high but they are high everywhere... I did see good sales however. The employees were nice and it wasn't too busy but I was there around 9pm. Don't shop here often but it used to be my go to store. As long as you shop sales and coupons I'm sure it's a good deal.

Decent shop. Decent prices. I'd rather shop for fruits n veggies here vs. other local places. Until the farmers market opens anyway. Just saying. The rest of the grocery is hit or miss price wise. Each shop has its better prices or selection on certain things. I did the research. I just shop around to save my pennies.

Really clean looking store, bright floors and well stocked shelves. Only issue was the bathrooms, I was in around 3:30 and there was poop all over the toilet. I know it's not their fault but also it's not the first time that ive came in mid day and seen the bathroom destroyed. Other than that I have no other complaints.

Nice store, clean and well stocked. Prices are high but the sale prices are excellent. You need to use their app on your phone to get some 'digital coupons' that are a pain to keep track of and sometimes don't get deducted at the register. For some reason my Android phone crashes frequently when attached to this store's WiFi. It happens frequently here and nowhere else, perhaps it is a fault in their app.

Lots of great deals. Only problem I saw was the selection and freshness. None of the meats looked fresh. Alot of fat on the steaks. It certainly wasn't anything I wanted to buy. We did get a package of chicken and a package of burger. The store was very clean and the employees were helpful and kind.

Great shopping experience, even an hour before they closed. The clerk Mark in the meat dept. was nice enough to wrap me up a fresh 1 lb. pkg of 90/10 burger for my tacos... and the cashier was extremely helpful, showing me how to tag my grocery items before I shop to make the most of my money value.. He also gave me the current monopoly game pieces and the board for it ... very nice!!

We don't shop at this Shaw's very often because we don't live in this area. We find that this store is a bit more expensive than the Lancaster Shaw's. But every thing is a little more expensive for this area. That being said, this is a very clean store and the staff is very friendly. They have a nice selection of sea food. Nice looking meats including Bison and grass fed beef. Stakes and hamburger. And the bakery, well, let's just say that it doesn't matter if I ate five minutes ago. One smell of the bakery and I'm hungry all over again.If other Shaw's were managed and ran like this one they would be a force to be reckoned with.

Most of the time that I go in after work all of the meat specials are empty. There is someone working behind the meat counter and if you ask it is a bother. Was retail for over 15 years so I get how it works. It's not working

Just got back from shopping here and the butterball kielbasa we bought on 12/20/21 expired on 10/30/21. How does something expired sit on a shelf for over a month and a half!? We figured the higher prices and lack of selection was better than going to wal-mart but selling extremely expired food is just ridiculous. Next time we’ll just go somewhere else and I suggest you do the same.Edit: keeping the old post for transparency, but updated to 3 stars. I called the manager and they pulled all the expired kielbasa from the shelf and gave us a full refund plus a little extra.

I came into Shaw's today on a time crunch looking for good flowers for graduation, and thank you flowers and the lady at the flower station (tall, thin, kind) was more than helpful and did a wonderful job making 3 special bouquets for each person with the request I was looking for she nailed it! Products may be good and staff may be helpful. However, all is overshadowed by atrocious checkout. First, the registers are always understaffed resulting in long lines. Easy to remedy but management is not interested. I have written directly to the corporation, but to no avail. Second, because of long checkout lines, people migrate to the auto checkout area. There are four machines. I have NEVER seen all functional at any given time. Now, auto checkout area no longer exists. All automated checkout stations are gone. I asked about staffing and was told that it is limited by the corporation.Store has expanded and organization has improved! Also a series of four auto check out stations were installed. But to what end? They are never open at opening time! I was informed that there is insufficient staff, so why bother with automated check out?Grand Opening yesterday and more products well organized! All the brass mingled with the shoppers, but guess what? Only two registers open!

I personally don't grocery shop from Shaw's because I am not rich... I recently had to switch to Shaw's Osco Pharmacy. They are very polite, thorough and speedy. Consider switching to Shaw's because the Walgreens in Berlin is never open. Much recommended.

I believe this is the one that was up in the North Conway area that's where we were about a week ago. Pretty much your standard Shaw's had a good food good variety. Seafood look pretty good. The only thing that and it's not just this one I've seen this in a lot of them they don't have somebody at the courtesy desk you actually have to go and flag somebody down which is a little bit ridiculous I don't see that at the other grocery store such as market basket or Hannaford Shaw shouldn't be doing that I just don't think it's good for their business model. Other than that I think they're fine they're medium medium price I think they're like a little more than market basket but a little bit less than Hannaford.

They have good sales. That's all the good I can say about them. Half the time something is rung wrong on my receipt and when I complain, all they do to make it right is to give me the money that I overspent--at hannaford, you get the item free plus a dollar if they scan it wrong. Also, the sale flyer might say "general mills cereal 2/$4" but you have to examine the shelf carefully because only certain flavors are that price. The produce quality is horrible. I once bought strawberries, put them in the fridge as soon as I arrived home (a 5 minute drive) and went to go eat some a few hours later and they were moldy.

Always only have 2-3 lines open , very frustrating. Constantly changing availability of products. Just makes me wish to go elsewhere to get what I want. Always play games with there pricing deals. It is a game they play. Waiting at deli this past Saturday for 10 minutes. Two employees were B/ S ing a customer with both waiting on her while others waited for service. I walked away and went to Hannafords. Got waited on , cant wait for Market Basket to come to town. There is never enough lines open to get waited on in a timely fashion

I like this Shaws, it's not like the ones in MA. Best cuts of meat I have found in area (steak & tips). Only gripe is I don't like having to use an app or their older orange cards to get sale items. Very annoying. Great selections otherwise! Might need to get creative for business with the new upcoming Market Basket.
