I adopted a pup and they were so helpful! The process for adoption was simple and we bought the dog home about an hour later. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. Thank you CAHS giving Mejo, formally know as Prince, a safe temporary home.

They take care of lost critters and find them new homes.. why wouldn't they get 5 stars?I have dealt with their staff here and there over the years, and they are some of the most decent, caring, and compassionate folks I've ever had the pleasure of corresponding with!

I was signed up with Petfinder looking for a new pet. I got an email about Kona. I filled out the application and than realized it was only an hour away. So I took a ride and fell in love with him. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I took him home and we are adapting great. Tyvm šš

One of the best shelters I have ever gone through. The staff is so helpful and caring towards all of the animals. We adopted our sweet dog from the shelter in March 2018, he was from Texas and sent up here from a kill shelter. So thankful for the work they do!

Amazing place! Lots of great benefits provided. There are many volunteers daily to help keep the dogs and cats happy. Exceptionally clean too :)

Our experience with CAHS could not have gone any more smoothly. The staff are committed to finding the best fit, and really take the time to get to know [potential] homes so that both parties can make an informed decision about what is best for the animal. This was clear throughout the entire adoption process, and we could not be more pleased with the support during and after welcoming our new cat to our family!

I spent $3,000 in vet bills on a dog that died 10 days after adoption.First of all, I acknowledge that it is absolutely not the shelterās fault that they donāt have the funding for a full time staff, but as a result the animals are almost always unsupervised. This means that a dog could be having seizures that no one knows about - which is what happened to me. It turns out my dog had an inoperable brain tumor and had to be put down after a traumatic 3am hour long drive to the emergency vet while he seized in my backseat. I am emotionally and financially devastated.Again, Iām not giving a negative review because I think the shelter is at fault. Their love for the animals in their care is obvious, which is why Iām not trying to knock down their rating with a 1 star review. The issue is a much bigger one regarding how we as a society prioritize funding for helpless animals. That said, I would have liked some warning, or more awareness, that serious medical issues could go unnoticed prior to adopting, and I feel itās only right to warn others of this potential outcome.Once my finances stabilize, Iāll be giving a monthly donation in memory of the pet I had for 10 days in hopes that the money can go towards more staff and better supervision, and ultimately keep others from having to go through what I did. I encourage everyone reading this to consider doing the same.

I had good conversation with staff about what I was looking for in a dog, mainly that it would have to be respectful of the already resident cat. The person I emailed with said that this adult female was fine with the cats in the shelter. I went down, met and played with the dog, and thought she seemed just what I hoped for. However, when we walked into the house, with dog fortunately still on leash, she barked frantically and took after the cat. Every time he came downstairs to check out what was happening, she did it again. At that point, looking through the paperwork that came with her, I found a long letter from the Mās previous owners. She spoke lovingly of her, but eventually said she really needed to be an only pet. If staff had looked through the file, they shouldnāt have recommended this girl for me. After several days, I had to return her, very sadly, and of course the adoption fee was a donation.I know many other people have been happy with their experience with CAHS; I would advise being very specific about any needs you have and double heck.

Great selection of dogs. Please consider adopting a senior dog. Potty trained, know what breds and size they grow to. Learned commands but depending on how long between homing may need refresher of behavior training. Will know if your current animals & family get along immediately instead of hoping with more training it will work. If it is not a great fit, return to shelter, money back with no questions asked.

I adopted a dog this past weekend and had a great experience. It was a very welcoming environment and I could tell all of the employees were very compassionate and love the animals they care for. I had previously adopted from the shelter in Laconia but when I went back there recently I found it to be very different, it was no longer the friendly place I remember. I definitely recommend Conway if you are looking for a new pet to adopt!

Great staff to work with! I had questions about my dog's immunizations 2 years after we got her and they emailed me the info I needed for our vet! We couldn't have gotten a better dog!! We are so thankful for this facility!!

Great to work with, the staff have so much kindness and compassion for their animals. They are also very kind to the adoptees during such a difficult time to adopt. Facility is very clean and all of the fur babies are very happy and well cared for.

Super friendly staff, and well cared for animals. We got a kitten from here when my husband worked on the building and fell in love. the staff gave him a deal since they had a sale going on, even though the kitten we liked wasnt a part of the sale. highly recommend this place to find your new furry friend.

I want to give a huge thanks to Lauren and the entire staff at the Conway Animal Shelter. My girlfriend and I have been looking for a friend for our 3 year old Boxer who is full of energy so we needed to find the perfect fit to be able to keep up. I reached out to Lauren For help and she found us the perfect fit! This was my first time purchasing a puppy from any kind of shelter And I wasnāt sure to what to expect But Lauren and the entire staff made the experience great right from the start but setting up a tentative time to meet, the initial arrival for the meet and greet and the final paper work process. Remi (our new puppy) was with out a doubt loved and cared for and look forward to continue to give him the love he deserves. Thanks again to the entire staff, we will definitely recommend anyone I know looking to adopt to try you guys first!

Probably the best shelter and people I have ever been too. Our family had just went to an animal shelter in ossipee, there we felt judged and mistreated. When we went to the conway shelter they let us in with open arms and smiles, they took their time making sure we left with the animal that would suit us best. They talked to us, encouraged us, and even smiled with us. We left with our dream cat!! He's doing great he's already litter trained and loves people. He's gorgeous and I am so happy we adopted from this shelter! Wonderful people and wonderful animals. I encourage everyone to adopt from this loving and caring animal shelter!!!

Very nice shop. Volunteers are great. I believe they may have dropped a bit on prices but still a tad high for me (I'm looking for one digit items š) with the $1 store and TJMaxx lowering items to a couple bucks...it's hard to justify buying a used item for more than what I would pay for it new. mho. The fact it's going to fur babies helps!š very clean and they allow use of a bathroom...

Flea infested money grab run by a director who hides in her office all day and couldnāt care any less about the animals. She doesnāt appreciate anything accept cash donations to feed this sham of a non profit. Poorly run agency.

We were very disappointed with this agency. They were not friendly or helpful at all in our situation. Rather than have a conversation,,they just told us to go somewhere else!

"Adopters Beware" Conway Area Humane Society are scammers trying to get your personal info. I wasted my time filling out a application and giving my personal info to them. They replied with a notice we don't allow our cats outside. No were on there website do they post this information. BAD FORM CHS!

Great place to get yours new pets with great prices compared to others. They even follow up to check on animals and people after adoption. Extended hours would be nice though.
