I wouldn't call it a variety store. My husband would go for tools and supplies because the prices are so reasonable, and I always enjoyed shopping the kitchen items, school items, sunglasses and eye glasses, gifts, etc. It's over a 2-hr drive for us, so I'm not inclined to go very often anymore. I really wish they would bring back the "variety" stuff!

Great store! Lots of fun items to look at and fantastic sales!!! My husband was in TOOL HEAVEN and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Charlestown's hidden gem along with the ice cream parlor behind it another MUST TRY!

Very friendly employees, their in-store customer service is some of the best I've seen. I've never had any problems receiving help from any of the employees whether it was looking for a certain product or looking for more information about a product. They're super nice as well as the prices of their products. In my personal opinion with my personal experience this is hands down my favorite go to store for hand tools, bits & other accessories, saw blades, power tools and everything in between. They even have a small home goods section for your kitchen, office, yard, school etc. Pens, paper, pencils, pots & pans, picture frames, measuring cups etc. If you haven't been here yet then I highly recommend you do. You'll save quite a bit from taking a trip to home depot living locally. Lumber is just about the only thing you can't get at this store but you can go down the street a couple hundred yards and pick up your lumber

I used to love all the various things you could find, school supplies, dishes, cards, cake decorating stuff, candles, drink items, holiday deco, et cetera like a mini Dan and Whit's. Now the only "variety" this variety store has is what brand of power tool. Which is good if that's what you're there for, dewalt stuff is a bit cheaper than you'd find in most other places, but that's all I can really say.

One of my favorite stores in Charlestown. Even if I don't need anything, I will go in and browse. Mainly the tool area. I bought a Dewalt planer(735x) from Dan, no where can touch his prices that I can find. Saved $150.00 from buying it online. Actually heading there now for some woodworking items.

Dan's is a great store for your tool needs and more. He has a large selection of tools from home use to a contractors candy store. They also carry house hold goods. Dan and his crew know there tools and suppliers to get you the repair parts you need.

An entire tool room in the back with affordable and name brand items. Hand and power. Air and battery operated and tool storage.

I’ve purchased many DeWalt tools from Dan’s Max Saver over the years. Dan and his staff are helpful and knowledgeable, and is pricing is competitive with online retailers that offer none of the personal service that he does. I consider a local business like this an asset to our community. I also like that he sells a range of less expensive tools too. For my service-oriented business, I’ll choose high quality tools if they are used daily and discount tools if they’re only used infrequently. This has saved me a lot of money, and having this range available in one store has saved me a lot of time. If you’re a woodworker, builder, or other tradesman, you really should check this store out – I’ve been a happy customer for years.

Best small town store for tools and household odds and ends! Tons of brand name tools. Dewalt, Stanley, and value brands too. Paint supplies, sanding, automotive, etc. Another whole room of kitchen gadgets and cleaning items. Some craft supplies, light bulbs, extension cords, too much to list! Some industrial woodworking machines as well. Bargain prices on ALL. Dealer warranty on many items.

I will hold off buying tools for a year just so I can fly across the Atlantic and buy them at Dan's. Every time I come back to NH I go to Dan's. My father started this trend by buying some tools so I could start my renovation projects in Norway 3500 miles away. Dan made some great recommendations for tools that would suit my needs now, and make sure they grew with my skill set. A full house renovation, a barn, and new addition to the house, and now I am on my second round of Dewalt drills and saws from Dan. The store has great tools, and an amazing staff.

Dan's is the last place I would have expected to get a deal on woodworking equipment. You essentially walk in to his store to a collection of household items. As one individual told me, Lok straight ahead and walk to the back of the store. Voila', great tools! Dan is also a great supporter of supplying tools at very low cost to NH school industrial arts programs. Glad to have met him and to see his support to the community.

I absolutely love this store. Whenever I'm looking for something a little harder to find, they have exactly what I need. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful with me, even when I don't know exactly what it is I'm looking for. The prices are great as well, even considering it's a small business located in the middle of nowhere.

This store has a little bit of everything!! Discount store. Has a large back room filled with power tools, and tools for all trades. Front room has anything from sewing knits to tarps to soap. Room around to the left has dishes greeting cards, school supplies, toys, kitchen needs etc. You never know what your going to find!!

Big selection of almost anything you need. Tool room is excellent and customer service is quick and helpful. Other rooms always have something different for sale so it's worth checking them out to see what's new. Can't beat the prices on anything here either!

I think my only criticism is that they don't have a web site. Because of that lack, I had driven by there for years not realizing what a treasure was in that building. They only came to my attention when they popped as a dealer for Powermatic Tools when I was looking for repair parts. I cannot say enough, nice people wonderful prices.

Drove past this store 1,000 times and didn't even know it. Found it one day after grabbing some ice cream nearby. Very surprised by their selection of inventory.. it was awesome.Once you walkin it feels like a store from the 1950's. First part of the store reminds you of dollar general but once you walk to the back its a different world.Its like a car dealership where they have POS used cars in the front but porches in the back.Will def be going here more often for my tools.

I wasn't quite sure where we were going or what to expect at Dan's Max Saver. What I found was a decent sized store with a little bit of tons of different things. Prices were beyond low and quality seems good. I spoke to one staff member and she pointed us in the right direction for anything we were looking for. You won't find everything you'd find attached at a hardware store or a Walmart. But you will be able to find a good selection from almost every category at unbelievablly low prices. Tools, Tupperware, seasonal items, kitchen and school supplies, shoelaces, household goods and more. Dan's Max Saver is worth a look for your next shopping trip.

I have been Shopping there for close to 10 years, someone always asks if they can help you and the staff is definitely informed on where everything is located in the store.It is also clearly signed at checkout about what is returnable and what is not. No questions there. They have about every tool imagine able. It's a must stop if you like to own your own tools and are in or going through Charlestown.

Huge assortment of tools small and large for woodwork, metalwork, gardening/yardwork, small engine repair, painting, lots of gloves and PPE options, plus the housewares and gift side which has a lot of cards, gift bags, kitchen items and toys. Never know quite what you'll find, often that you weren't looking for, but it's always a great deal and priced to move.

This is one of the best places to get pretty much anything. There are two main rooms to the front of the store and a HUGE tool room out back (with an unbelievable selection of mostly high-end tools).
