This location is in a constant state of disrepair it seems. Isles are cluttered with freight not being put away. Carts left everywhere. Barely enough room to turn around let alone in the aisle. That the self check out is closed because people are stealing. So, you/customers are forced to deal with one lane checkouts which slow things down considerably. Never seems like there’s more than two associates working. As this is the “general store” in this town.

Never open when they say they are going to be. Most inconvenient convenience store I've ever seen.Recently, I bought a mylar balloon from here. They tied the knot so badly that it flew away as soon as a light breeze hit it.

This store carries a lot of name brand items that you can’t get in other stores like dollar general. Self checkout is also quick

Went to the Dollar General, Ctr Barnstead a little while ago. Asked one of the two employees to check me out, told me the main cash register wasn't,t working. Right, had to use the self check out. Was not happy. I don😂 get paid to check out. Hre said that's the way it is. Was not happy.while they were doing nothing. Sad

Pretty sad when you call at 945 asking a store if there open until 10. When that's the hours they state there open until! Then the person who anwsers says yes we're here and open until 10. Drive out of the way showing up just about 10 mins before 10 and the doors are locked!!! Awesome guys way to be if I could give negative stars I would! In my opinion that's just straight laziness!!!

For me, Customer Service is always the most important thing. The staff here is patient, helpful, kind and accommodating. The store is kept clean and well-stocked, which is likely a challenge for this variety of a store (we used to call these “5 & 10s”). 💛

The staff is amazing, but dairy seems to always be a bust along with many frozen items. As a matter of convenience it can be great if they have what my family needs.

Store seemed like warehouse atmosphere, large and very dark. Shelves messy but stocked and labeled. Could be due to extra traffic for bike week. Quick checkout with average pricing.

Convenient and inexpensive staples needs. Staff is friend greeting every customer with a smile. No matter how busy. Store can be understaffed at peak times. Customer space is a bit crowded when using a shopping cart in aisles. Wide number of product categories. Give a feel of "general store" but the quality is low of general merchandise in the grocery category national brands available at reduced cost as compared to dedicated grocery store. In a jam DG is a life saver for the forgotten or immediate need.

I have yet to be in a Dollar General that is clean and organized. I have no idea what's wrong with the company itself to where they don't emphasize organizing the aisles, because every Dollar General I have been in is an accident waiting to happen! All it takes is for one person to trip on things that have been left in the aisles and get for someone to sue them. Do they not care? This particular one in Barnstead is no different than the other ones I've been in. Why do I go here then? Because I can get my vitamins that I need and other otc medications for less than I can get them at Rite Aid or even on Amazon sometimes. Whoever the owners of Dollar General and Family Dollar are, they need to come and inspect their stores and clean them up before somebody gets hurt!

The store is close and not far to travel. Has most all items I'm looking for. The staff that works there are awesome. They are really friendly and helpful. I love shopping there

Found some great shelf racks for $5, greeting card prices can't be beat, and always happy to find milk here, even when other places run low or out before a storm.

I definitely love the convenience of Dollar General. BUT I would rather drive out of my way, then deal with standing in line. Worst service I've seen around...

It's a Dollar General. Having said that, it's consistent with the others, and my only knock is that they're not well staffed. The person there was great, but needed help.

I like dollar general for paper goods and it's a quick way in and out and cheap frozen brand name pizzas! Yum!

Turtle Kraal RV Park is right around the corner and we frequent the Dollar General for so many things while up at camp. You would be amazed at the variety of products!
