Should’ve looked at the reviews and when it was too late I saw a review from 3 months ago in regards to bed bugs. I decided to check my bed and the mattress cover only to find a blood stain on the cover. I called the front and the woman in broken English said it wasn’t her fault they receive their linens from the outside. She sent someone to my room to change it but the blood stain stayed. Disappointing. Never returning there again.

Stayed at the villager Friday night so I didn't have to battle driving in a storm Saturday morning. Location is awesome check in went well. That's where the good ends. Hotel room was disgusting stained shower, lights that didn't work, broken lamp shades, dirty shower, flat mattress. Etc... but I will accept that for the price I paid what did I expect? What I didn't expect is to spend my Monday morning in the walk in due to me and my wife being covered in terrible bites after 2 nights of not being able to sleep. BED BUGS!!! I was hoping for fleas because it is a pet friendly hotel. But no. Confirmed bed bugs. Now a cheep hotel has turned into an expensive nightmare. 250 for doctors visits 50 in prescriptions and who knows how much time aggravation and money to ensure my house doesn't become infested. Not happy

A decent room with a some good space for the price. However, cold air pours under the front door and there was a lot of mold on the wood that was installed above the shower surround. Also not enough hot water for 4 people to shower.Nearby activities: Ski Attitash and Wildcat.

We booked this hotel weeks ahead to be near our skiing mountain. One day prior we were to arrive, I got a call from the manager saying they had a flood and had to move EVERYONE to their other location which is 20 mins away. I was told there is no other choice as there is flood damage so I agreed. After skiing one day, we stopped by to check out this place to see if we should book this in the future. The front office had a sign saying there is vacancy. There were vehicles in front of the rooms. Afterwards, I learned from the lady at the other location that this motel has been open even though there was flood damage to some rooms, and they did not shut it down. I don't like being lied to!

Never stayed in a motel before so I didn’t have anything to base my opinion on. Front staff was very friendly and check in process was simple as can be. Parking available which is good.The room itself was a bit disappointing. Well, actually, a lot disappointing. Smelled horribly of cigarette smoke, we had to buy air freshener to be able to sleep. Walls covered in water damage, wallpaper peeling and even lampshades with stains. Shower, although got perfectly hot, sounded terrible and loud when turned on. Bed was creaky and the sheets were stained, we contemplated losing the money and staying elsewhere due to fear of bedbugs.Overall, you get what you pay for. Pros: fast process checking in and out, very quiet with Mountain View, pool available, hot water, and a microwave, TV, and fridge to use. Cons: not the cleanest place, outdated, felt a bit unsafe, smelt terrible, and no safety with the smoke detector being ripped out.Overall, you get what you’re willing to pay for. Wouldn’t stay again.

Great place to stay at. It's pretty comfy and the room was pretty large. It had a microwave and a fridge, so you can make yourself something for dinner. There is also a pool on site. I thought of it to be cold, despite the ad saying that it was heated. However it didn't bother me much, as it was a hot day and a cold pool was nice to cool down.

The Villager Motel decided to cancel my booking without informing me. Of course I had to figure this out after a 200km bicycle-ride in the mountains, on a Saturday evening with all hotels in the region fully booked.They said "sorry" and moved my booking to a "nearby hotel" (at 30km in the mountains, that they also own) which was under renovation. The room there was reeking of cigarette and fresh paint, the shower did not work properly, the AC did not work properly, there was no swimming pool, and the guy next door was smoking pot all evening long. They still made me pay the full price.Rooms: The room reeks of cigaretteSafety: Many dangerous cars and trucks driving super fast close to the swimming pool.Walkability: Of course not. It's a highway.Food & drinks: Everything reeks of cigaretteNoteworthy details: The Villager Motel is owned by criminals

Clean rooms! Wonderful service! We stayed here a few months back and had a great stay. I had booked another room across the state that I had to have refunded due to cleanliness, I called the property manager up at 930pm and he had a room waiting for us with the light on an hour later! Wonderful service here!!! The heated pool is wonderful to swim in at night and the trails around back make for a nice morning walk!

I've stayed at The Villager Motel twice now and had good experiences. It may be a plain Jane, but it's got the essentials and it's clean, comfortable and affordable.I've been a guest in the summer and winter.On each visit I was in a different building. One room was slightly outdated, but very clean, very clean linens and very comfortable bed.The other room was newly remodeled, tastefully decorated and again very clean, with very clean linens and a comfortable king-sized bed.On both stays, I was greeted by Greg. Greg was so friendly and professional. His positive attitude and demeanor to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed was such a pleasant welcome.I would definitely stay at The Villager Motel again. It is not the fanciest place, but it was affordable, very clean, I got a good night's sleep, a hot shower with good water pressure, it's in a great location and the staff was very accommodating.I would normally give the motel a 4 star review, but the staff's willingness to accommodate my need for lodging at the very last minute was above and beyond.

Me and my family just came from this motel, and had a great experience, despite some negative reviews we read prior to coming. The staff were very polite and accommodating. My children had the best time in their clean maintained pool. We visited storyland which was literally 5-8 minutes down the road. Convenient to grocery store and town. The room was clean and well stocked. We took a nice hike from the back of the building to a beautiful rapid. We loved the view of the mountains from all angles of the motel.I am truly pleased with our stay and encourage anyone to stay here. For our families budget and lack of fussiness we were so happy to have chosen this motel. Thank you for another great memory!

It's a very simple Motel. My room was clean (it needs some updates) the stuff is nice and friendly and the location is absolutely beautiful. Even if it's a bit old it has its own character, thanks to the location. Absolutely peaceful, out of the crowd. I had a very pleasant stay. If I will be lucky to go back next year to enjoy the foliage I will be happy to stay here!

Simple and budget friendly hotel. Nothing fancy. Don’t expect much and you’ll be happy. A perfect place for people who don’t spend their vacation in their hotel room.Don’t expect maid service during your stay & bring your own toiletries.You’re a good 20-30 minutes from shops and food, but perfect spot for hiking and exploring nature.

It was very peaceful and quiet. We found the beds very comfortable. The ac worked great. One morning we needed heat and that worked fine as well. They said if we needed anything they would bring to room and they did. The guy at check in was very personable and good attitude. I will stay their again absolutely! Also right across street from mountain view.

Quite nice and reasonablly priced. Room was simple with old furnishings but large with nice private view of backyard. Very clean. Staff very friendly. My particular room had intermittent pump noise that didn't bother me too much but might be more of an issue for light sleepers.

We stayed here last week and found nothing to complain about. We were looking for an inexpensive place and found this online. The reviews we mixed to say the least but the price was so good we decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did. We will not go anywhere else when staying near The White Mountains. Some of the pics/reviews are out of date since they have remodeled recently. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They have a nice mountain view, amazing access to the Sacco river down a 5 minute onsite path and also allow bonfires outside of your rooms!. We stayed there for hours taking it all in and relaxing. The have a microwave and larger fridge in the room so you can bring your own food. They also supply cooking grills on site. The bed spreads were a bit outdated but we all just toss those on the floor anyway. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a casual mountain experience at very little cost!

I would rather sleep in my car than stay here again. There is clearly no pride in taking care of what could be a beautiful property. Rooms are dirty, mattress and pillows stained, cobwebs/spiders throughout the room. Everything is very outdated and clearly not cared for. Look elsewhere and don’t waste the money on this super overpriced place.

This place gets the job done. Don't expect fancy digs, but all the appliances and stoves and such work well. Trails north provide access to a nice creek and again not fancy small outdoor seating area overlooking the waterway. Owners are very nice. You might want to bring a broom and dustbuster if you stay in one of the cabins for a few days and want to control the dirt and salt that gets drug inside and onto the porch.

I have gone here for years but was disappointed in the service this last trip. We specifically requested a room in the back, upon arrival we were put out front had to request a change. Our shower dispenser with body wash -shampoo was empty had to request it to be filled, our next day we returned to room at end of day with nothing done in room. Had to request service. Love the location but may not go back next time

Very nice owner and clean property. We had issues with the cable and the AC unit was way too small and weak for the room. We loved that the units were spread out into 4 different sections. We also really liked that the rooms allowed cross draft ventaliation as well as a front and back door. Small fridge and microwave helped keep our food cost down.We will stay here again.

Have been staying here for many years. I like the location and the owner was nice. This year was DISAPPOINTING. Bathroom didn’t look that clean and papers left in dresser draw. Overlooked all that... On our check out we got charged 54.00$ EXTRA for leaving after 10A. NO warning from Greg at the front desk and we were the only customers there that day!!! I asked to have Shawn the owner to please call me but he didn’t bother.... I use to recommend this place to everyone!! NO MORE!! Talk about nickel and diming a loyal customer... DISGUSTING

The rooms are very outdated. No tissues, the shower had a blue ring either stained or wasn’t rinsed well, the shower curtain had not been cleaned, the complimentary shampoo is a big dispenser stuck to the wall that you don’t know if another guest has put anything in so I didn’t feel comfortable using it. No phones so if you need anything from the office you have to go down to office, the beds were ok I guess, the pillows left a lot to be desired, the outlets in the room barely hold a cord to charge or plug anything in without it just falling out of the wall. The ac’s they have in the rooms are ok and not all of them work the way they should and when you room has the sun shine for the whole day when it is 90 out that’s important. I definitely didn’t see the owners being too friendly and coming to check on us while we had a fire the 2 nights we were there. The pool doesn’t even have chairs in the area to sit on. The WiFi really doesn’t work either. If you are looking for a ok place to rest your head for cheap this would be the place. I feel bad leaving a review like this but as someone who has worked in the hospitality business this place left a lot to be desired.

This was my first time here personally, but I came up with my fiancé and his family who are long time visitors. This weekend was extremely special for us for we got engaged! My fiancé couldn’t think of a better place for Diana’s baths to propose- which are so close by and one of many beautiful places to see here. This has been tradition for his family and him growing up and we will surely continue our own with ours. The rooms are so homey, comfortable, and ALWAYS spotless. The gentlemen who run it are always around and are always smiling! 😊 Whenever they drive by to freshen the room they take all our requests and make them happen. The fire pits are beyond nice and every room has their own grill! There’s also a little park in front for the younger kids! Plus the heated pool is so perfect. A lot of places say their pool is heated and it’s just a tad warm- this pool truely is HEATED and so nice. I highly recommend this for family memories, laughs, and an overall carefree experience because traveling can be overwhelming. Here, all you worry about is what awesome place nearby to eat at or visit next!!! 100/100❤️

We absolutely loved the experience, the bed was super comfy, the staff and owners are very welcoming, the path to the Saco River was beautiful we found a hamaca at the end of the path and took so many great pictures, we just brought our seasoned and frozen meats, veggies and charcoal to grill by the fire for dinner. Nonetheless, really good 5 star restaurants close by as well if you’re looking to relax. They also have a pool. Christian and Greg are awesome. Absolutely, we will be back very soon!!!

Can't find a single thing to complain about. We stayed with our 3 boys and loved it. It was exactly what we were looking for. Not fancy at all but very cabin like which was great. Were greeted promptly at check in and provided more than what we expected. Nice outdoor fire pit to wind down after a nice long hike and plenty to do in the area. Would stay again without question!!!

We booked a 2 queen bed room for Labor Day weekend directly, despite prices on booking websites being half the cost. We had planned to stay 2 nights, but the condition of the room forced us to leave after 1, thereby ending our vacation.The beds were hard as a rock, and had only one pillow per person, which were also incredibly hard and flat. Dispensers for shampoo and body wash in the bathtub were completely empty and there were not enough clean towels for 4 people. Hardware was missing from the bathroom vanity, the decor was outdated, and of the two electric sockets in the room, one did not work, so we were unable to charge our cell phones. The bed blankets had holes and burn marks on them, despite being a non smoking room. The entire family was unable to sleep and as a result tried to check out at 10:45 am, checkout being at 11. One family member actually slept in the car since conditions were so bad, and had the best sleep of the four of us.We waited quite a while in the office after ringing the bell until a little boy ran in and asked if we'd like some help. Finally an older woman came in and after explaining the condition of the room, refused to reimburse us for the next night we would not be staying, despite checking out early and check in not being until 3 pm.Our family stayed here for many years when we were children under previous ownership and always had a wonderful time. We will NEVER stay here again, especially due to the horrible service, never mind the terrible room condition. Please do not bring your family to this horrible place! Our vacation was ruined because of it!!!
