The vet techs and front desk receptionists are all very friendly. However, the vet himself is extremely unprofessional, rude, and doesn't seem to enjoy his job or pets at all. Never greeted my dog or showed he cared about my concerns or my pet. I have never been to a vet where the veterinarian didn't say hi or pet the animal to make them feel safe. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone as I always left feeling very upset at the way he treated my sweet golden retriever.

I recently got my American Bulldog puppy and he was seen by Dr. Joe at the store he is from. Dr. Joe remembered my dog, and was very patient answering all my questions.(first time dog mom) He gave me recommendations for everything I needed. The thing I really like too is that he doesn’t pressure you into things that you don’t need. If your dog doesn’t need it, your dog doesn’t get it. Prices are very reasonable and all the techs were also super friendly. My puppy is still nervous around new people, but the staff was so caring and gentle that he opened up to them. Also, they were ready for me as soon as I got there, so there wasn’t any waiting. I really like this Vet! Thank you all for taking good care of Oakley!!

First time experience at brushwood was great! The Dr was very responsive and spent time with me explaining everything they did for willys checkup and all of His results. The staff is super professional (especially Kadi!) and my grumpy pitbull loved them all! Would highly recommend trusting this establishment with your pets.Pricing: The best around!

Please do not bring your pet here! Don’t! The doctor is cold un-compassionate heartless monster and seems to have absolutely no integrity or humility.. and no overall enthusiasm for pets at all. This Dr is extremely discriminating.. and will outright refuse to provide care. After 9 years of bringing my terrier(Will)here, Dr Joe refused to provide care when it was needed most. Dr Joe examined a small growth on my terrier 5 years ago.. then annually at every checkup/shoots. Recently.. the growth had started to double in size and was so large it eventually burst.. it burst about 3 hours after being seen and denied care by Dr Joe. He told me the growth was now too large to remove and said it would take several surgeries to remove. He offered no solution only reasons he could not provide care. He did not explain the growth.. give any options or even suggest or mention medications; antibiotics, pain relievers nothing. Admittedly I was very nervous and anxious myself, but being given no other options I desperately asked “then what? Then nothing? We let him bleed out?!”..Dr Joe walked out of the exam room w/o a word and never came back. I was left in the exam room in tears having no idea what to do next. The technician in the room (who was very caring and professional) was speechless. Thankfully after some Google searches I found Bedford Veterinary Medical Center. They saw Will @ 6 o’clock that night.. everyone on staff including the Dr greeted Will by name and smiles and happy voices. They made him feel very comfortable and very safe. They provided me with several options, several needed medications, and explained exactly what was going on. Will is doing great today!Dr Joe never called Will by name (just pronouns), never displayed a pleasant or caring tone, and most most upsetting misdiagnosed what was wrong. Yes, Dr Joe may be cheaper than other clinics.. but yes, you get what you pay for. The other negative comments sound like mirror experiences. I could go on.Please. Do not bring your loved pet to Dr Joe. Maybe his demeanor works on wall street but not with furry animals or their loving owners. I’ll give the one star to his staff.. they were all very caring and very professional. Dr Joe. No… no.

Dr G has been taking care of our 11 and 14 year old dogs since the beginning. He always has caring, practical advice. He is aware of costs and doesn't recommend expensive unnecessary tests. He has been an ardent supporter of our local fire department.

The staff at Brushwood are always very helpful, caring and accommodating to my pets!!many years ago My little chihuahua Fluffy had to have surgery and they were the most affordable (I had called around for pricing) and very honest and helpful through the whole thing!! They helped gave her a few more wonderful years to her life!!And I have adopted another older pet more recently who has a few medical problems and the Vets and Techs are so wonderful to her every time she goes!!I highly recommend Brushwood for your "fur family"!

We have taken 3 of our kittens and 2 of our adult cats to this vet and will be taking the eldest of our cats soon. The office feels like an old fashioned country doctor's office might and the staff are all super friendly and kind. The doctor is conservative in his approach and seems to be a straight shooter with what is needed and what he recommends. When we were faced with costs for multiple cats he found ways to save us money and to keep things reasonably priced. Overall I would recommend this place highly to anyone, it is a pleasure to visit and the cats seem to love it.

Wonderfully caring people, decent prices for procedures and yearly shots. Definitely worth going here for your shots over retail chains if you're close by. The doctor was very detail oriented and explained the causes behind my dog's issue and the procedure he would be performing to fix it.

I was looking to get my 7 mo old mini schnauzer puppy neutered, and I am so thankful I found this clinic. My current vet in Portsmouth NH quoted me over $650.00, and I needed a more affordable option. I purchased a Friends of Animals certificate online instead, and Brushwood Vet Clinic accepts these. They require a quick first exam before the spay or neuter can be scheduled, and they worked with me on my crazy schedule. They took great care of my little guy, and I highly recommend this place as their prices are more than reasonable. I also appreciate Dr. Joe talking to me before and after the surgery and took the time to answer any questions or concerns I had. He was very laid back and pleasant. Thank you again Brushwood for a smooth and stress free experience!

Have always enjoyed bringing my Dog to Brushwood. The Doctors are always so attentive and caring with our dog. I have had good experience with the Vet Techs always smiling and being so helpful. Sadly I did not have the best experience with one of the Vet Techs who I had never seen before she has short hair she was snappy, unhelpful, kept me waiting for a unreasonable amount of time and gave me a hard time about scheduling a follow up appointment. I have really enjoyed going here because of how professional Brushwood has been in the past, I hope this dose not change.

I have been taking my dog to a different veterinarian office for over 10 years. When I called requesting an appointment for my dog because she was in pain they told me they would see my dog in two weeks.I called Brushwood and they got me in immediately.Dr. Ruth and her vet tech Kadi were AMAZING! They had my 10 year old dog running around acting like a puppy again. I will never go anywhere else. THANK YOU BRUSHWOOD!

We brought our new 12 week old Malinois/pit puppy here for her first visit and we transferred our senior Boxer's care to Brushwood. Soooo glad we did. The level of concern and the thorough exams were leaps and bounds better than what we had experienced elsewhere. We have gotten follow up calls and clear explanations to answer all our questions. I wish my own PCP was this good. :)

Best Vet. They are amazing and take such good care of my guy every time I go it. And my guy is a 100 pound German Shepard who inst so much aggressive as hes just kind of a jerk. They are unreal with him and whatever he needs. I've been taking him there since 2013 and hes in great health. Highly recommend them!

My first visit was amazing. Dr. Joe and his crew is just incredible. Every question you have they have an answer for it, they treat your dog with so much kindness and love. There vet clinic is so clean and very organized. I loved going there and will be going there for many more years to come

Most unprofessional business I have ever heard of. They discriminate against breeds of dogs. My husband and I was told that we were not allowed to have our animals fixed there a week after booking appointments and purchasing friends of animals certificates and was laughed at when we asked for a refund project if it gets after canceling 4 days after making the appointment. This establishment does not care about the safety or life of an animal these doctors take on a job in about a help animals in need but really they don’t care at all. Has the owner was hanging up the phone and laughing at me he told me good luck trying to find a place to fix your dogs and then very rudely hung up on me after I told him I was going to leave him a bad review because it was very unprofessional of him to cancel my appointment due to my dogs being 2 of the most loving Rottweilers you would ever meet.

I have been pleased with all aspects of the service. The doctor is straight and to the point and the staff is always consistent and really love to help. They know their patients and care for each one of them. It is the persona care that we lost at a much bigger clinic. I am so happy we found Brushwood!

I am not sure what clinic these other reviewers are claiming they visited. I have been going here for 5 years and they never push anything that isn't needed, always thinks about the pet's best interest. Recently my dog got into something he shouldn't and was very sick. They took him immediately and did the necessary x-rays and blood work and ruled out anything serious. They gave my dog what he needed to get back on his feet. To the other reviews, having pets cost money. Don't get sticker shock and write scathing reviews because you can't afford to take care of your pet. Brushwood is a family owned and operated business. They love what they do and have a caring and compassionate staff that isn't out to make a buck, but to help your pet have the best life possible.

The staff at the front desk is not trained properly. They do not have accurate information on what the vet allows and dose not allow. I was treated very poorly. I was given false information and was never compensated for it .I waisted time, money and took a day off of work for nothing. I was spoken to in a disgusting derogetory, manner and my dog by someone who is supposed to protect and serve animals and all living creatures. I have never been so belittled or embarresed by a "professional"

We have had Dr. JOE and Dr. LAWSON since 2004 and they both take meticulous care with our dogs and cats and surgeries are precise. Now we have a blind 4 year old who is very anxious and all staff are so very patient with our pet.

Women at front desk always seems miserable. Even when she calls to remind you of your appointment. As the receptionist you are the first impression of the buisness and she does not give off a good one. I have been going there for about 4 years now. And my last visit she had the worst attitude that i will be switching vet offices. The doctors on the other hand are awesome. Its a shame they will be loosing business because of her.

Very unprofessional and they discriminate against dogs. A few days ago I called and set up an appointment to get my two dogs fixed two years old and four years old Rottweilers. I called to ask if they would fix my dogs and if they take the friends of animals that are certificates they said yes so I asked them if they had any problems with them being Rottweilers because I’ve had problems in the past with vets they said nope they don’t discriminate they take all dogs so then when I told them that I didn’t have the certificates yet they told me to buy them now because I needed to before I came in for my appointment so I purchased the certificates and then two or three days later I get a phone call from the owner I believe the doctor telling me that they do not work with Rottweilers it’s good luck finding another person to take them. That was setting such a rude sarcastic way I was completely shocked I asked them if they were going to cover the expenses that I paid for the certificates they made me pay $220 and he laughed on the phone and said no when I was told by the people who work the front desk that they would be OK and I would not have any issues I don’t know how a vets office could actually discriminate against a dog especially since I’ve never even been there with them before my dogs are two of the nicest dogs that you would ever meet and they’re already judging them just because they’re a Rottweiler I definitely don’t recommend this vets office at all

I have very friendly rottweilers (2) and when I called to get them spaded I was told I needed certificates and after paying $225 I was told they didnt take rottweilers how is a vet gonna turn down any breed? That's very unprofessional. That's like a Dr saying I dont take new patients bcause of your race. I didn't appreciate this after I payed 4 certificates. Are you gonna take care the cost of the certificates.
