Shady company that doesn't stand behind their products. I ordered a wheelchair for my dog in Feb 2023. In July, one of the buckle clasps broke on the harness. I should note that the clasp fits poorly over the aluminum struts on the chair - a clear design flaw that they didn't address prior to production. I called Walkin pets, waited on hold with 2 people in the queue for nearly a 1/2 hour. The representative seemed nice enough until she told me it would be $40 to replace the harness. I told her that it was clearly a material defect with the plastic on the clasp (I'm a mechanical engineer) but no use - she was unapologetic that I needed to pay up. She even offered to sell me expensive expedited shipping (LOL - thanks!). Throughout this entire process, I was also continually asked to purchase upgrade items to my chair. Irritating as I just wanted a remedy to my broken harness. She would not yield on this so I mentioned that I was going to leave a poor review for their quality and customer service. In response she just hung up on me. I didn't yell or become irate - I only expressed that I was disappointed at their unwillingness to stand behind the quality of their expensive chairs, Pretty disrespectful to just hang up, but reading other comments/reviews it appears this place is only interested in separating you from as much money as possible and won't help you if you have a problem. So not only do they make a poor quality product, they disrespect you and make you pay more $$ just to keep their poorly designed product functioning. If you find an alternative, I suggest you go with it. These guys are the kind of company that you want to avoid.

I went to Walkin pets for several items for an Irish Wolfhound who had a back injury. The person I spoke to on the phone didn't seem the most knowledgeable and the business is within driving distance. The room we used to fit my girl to her harness was probably fine for a small dog but not big enough for my large hound, we were constantly having to walk over her.I wanted a harness, a boot to help her keep her toe up and a pair of boots for traction. I also asked about wheelchairs in case we ended up needing one. They did not have boots to fit my girl. We did get the toe up thing that we have not used. We also got a harness. This is the worst lift assist harness I have ever used. I used it for a day then stopped using it and just now started using it again more consistently. I just spent an hour taking the darned thing apart. This harness has large foam/rubber tubes approximately 1.24 inches in diameter with a hole in the center that the straps go through to help support the dog when you lift and prevent chafing but they are honestly so big and bulky and the straps get twisted inside of them and it is impossible to clean. These tubes are about 14" long meant to protect the inside of her legs from having straps chaffe. However, this tubing also seems to make it more difficult for a dog with limited mobility in the rear to get up as these tubes were poking into her abdomen. I would also note that the clamps do not feel well made so I have concerns there as well and it appears to be rightfully so as it appears in reading the reviews others have had issues with the hardware. After a solid week of using this thing I just took the thing apart. This harness is the support system for their wheelchairs and hooks into the frame of that item. It has a pile of extra hardware on the harness for use with the wheelchair (which we do not have) I cant imagine it is comfortable for her to lay down with all these extra plastic pieces so I just spent an hour taking this harness apart and removing the straps that would connect into a wheelchair. I also ordered a help-em up harness. I cant wait for that to arrive. I had considered purchasing one of the wheelchairs from walkin pets as it is a walk in chair and my dog has some limited rear mobility but the support system for their wheelchairs uses this harness and honestly I just hate the harness so much I will be headed to Eddies Wheels in Massachusettes for the wheelchair. They are more expensive but the quality is so much betterOn a positive note the people were friendly.

I’m borrowing the shown walkin wheels wheelchair for my 11+ yo German Shepherd who I think may have DM. But it didn’t have any directions and needed some additional parts, so I was overwhelmed. The online chat person was very nice, but I never heard back with a resolution to our discussion. However, I was able to figure out what I needed on my own, because of their excellent online articles and videos in the help and q&a sections. I bought the additional items, which I thought were fairly price and arrived as planned. Highly recommend this wheelchair, as it is extremely customizable (both with the parts that come with it, but also with optional different sized parts, accessories, and the ability to add front wheels). It is very lightweight and easy to use (after some practice).

OK so I did write a bad review because the boot I purchased broke after a few times of my dog wearing it But immediately they contacted me and replaced the boot. Did not have to return the broken one either. So I am changing my review to 4 stars. Thank you for making sure your customers are satisfied with their purchase.

I purchased two wheelchairs for my dog who had unsuccessful IVDD surgery. I purchased the “walkin wheels mini B3” and one from Amazon “HobeyHove Adjustable Dog Wheelchair”. Only reason I purchased from walkin pets is because they are well known and recommended by my vet. I received both around the same time. The Amazon one took me about 15 minutes to assemble, while Walkin pets took me around two hours. Comparing both walkin wheels’ was much heavier, heavy duty however too heavy for my dog who has spinal issues, knee issues, etc… the one from Amazon is also an aluminum frame but it is hollow making it MUCH lighter. Additionally Walkin wheels used a foam cord(to keep his rear suspended) that goes between his man parts that rubs on him with every step. The one from Amazon used both a front and rear harness to keep him suspended. My dog was in walkin wheels for maybe 10 minutes and he just took to the other one more. My REAL DISAPPOINTMENT was when I went to return the product, I removed all hair, didn’t take it outside, and they charged me a 25% restocking fee for “irreplaceable damaged parts” I couldn’t believe it. 25% +$20 return label deducted from my return came out to around $70. I might as well kept the wheelchair and sold it myself or gave it away. Nothing was damaged. I was in awe that a company that helps disabled animals would charge so much in fees and make false accusations. I am lucky I found a better wheelchair for my little guy because I would really be salty if they took $70 from me and I still needed a product to help my little guy get around. Bottom line, buy elsewhere before buying from Walkin’ Pets. Picture displayed is him in Amazon wheelchair. Size XS. He’s a tall chihuahua mix with an Italian greyhound body. Hopefully this review helps you guys!

Had some trouble with the post office delivering my package but the company shipped out a new order via FedEx and I got it within 3 days of calling. They were great with my delivery issue and apologized even though it was out of their hands. The product came packaged nicely with great directions for assembly(with photos) and directions to introduce your pet to it while making sure they are comfortable with the equipment. Rudi, our newly blind dog, is used to wearing cloths so he was fine with the vest. We have been using the halo daily for increasing amounts of time and can already see his confidence growing in the house! He is wagging his tail more, taking longer strides when walking, and has his head up while walking. When we put it on him for first time it was like he knew we were trying to help him. The halo is very lightweight which is important as Rudi is only 7 pounds. One thing I was a little worried about was the other dogs' reactions to it but they are all just rolling with it too. It helps to keep them out of his way as well! All in all we are thrilled and will be recommending this halo to everyone and anyone that asks! Rudi got his spunk back!!!!

We have a 3 yr old Rottie female. She severely cut one of her pads. Tough injury for everyone. We bought a boot from HP. It’s perfect. Easy to use. We’ll made. She doesn’t mind it. Thank you.

After intense research and consults with my pets' vet, I'm glad I chose Walkin Pets. My 6yr old mastiff has two ruptured cruciates and hip dysplasia. My baby is almost herself again and trying to trot and even run.Although I'm not thrilled of the restocking fee, I was fortunate to not have to deal with it. Customer service is great, fast email replies with detail, answering every part to my email and questions. I'm glad to know the staff is intellegent and acknowledge my questions and concerns to the T!As for the wheelchair. It's great. Adjusting to fit my baby is quite easy and sturdy. Almost like adjusting crutches with the push pin lock in place in multiple areas. Only dislike is that the harness slips occasionally and have to re-tighten which is a little tough with how the straps are weaved through the clips, but not a big deal. I love the aired up mountain bike tires to help with shock absorbing. It is also easy to fold up and take places. I like how the leg rings have multipurpose use. It's easy to let my girl go to the bathroom and not have a mess on the leg rings, just got to make sure her privates are not covered when she's placed in. The wheelchair is also easy to fold and bring along on trips.I've already recommended someone to use Walkin Pets for their shar pei and they bought the camo one. She is also happy with it.

What a wonderful company. Have two sets of wheels for my Guy, who was involved in a car accident and suffered a broken back leaving him paralysed. They are so lovely to deal with. Customer service is exceptional. Thank you for giving Guy his life back. From Debbie in Wales, U.K

I hate to post such a bad review but these people are literally SHADY. I bought a halo for my blind 13 y.o. 2 lb dog, ordering a 3xsmall (which should be assumed is a xxxsmall right?). When I received it, it was huge and noted that the vest itself said small. I know my dog quite well and what will and won't fit him. A small is obviously not going to fit, so I called customer service and the girl who answered was really nice and sent me a return slip (which I paid for, understandably, but only like $4).Within the time it took me to open the package, see it wouldn't fit and return it, it was probably a total of an hour if not maybe slightly more. But point is that it was a same day return. This was on a Friday. The item was received on a Monday and I was emailed by the company with the statement that my return had been REFUSED because of "the condition of the item"(???). I had to call the company because the reasoning was super vague, especially as I had not even USED the item. They emailed me back with the reason being "a very strong odor". I don't smoke, wear perfume, use "strong odors" and mainly, never used the product. When I attempted to reach out again to dispute the return and get my $70 back, I was told that, even though there was no proof that this odor was most likely already present on the item, there was nothing they could do as they couldn't resell the item bc of an odor they claimed came from me(???).Somehow, although my dog is 2 lb, they are telling ME that this size small vest (that's literally more for a 10 lb dog) was worn by my dog, when in reality I wish he COULD wear it otherwise I would've never returned it lol just doesn't make sense. Although, when this was mentioned on the initial call their reason for refusal on refund was a "perfume" smell (they can make up whatever they want as their first email was vague for this purpose). So all in all, I've lost $70 and still no halo that fits my dog. They just wanted a reason to not return my money. Also beware - a size XXXSmall means a size Small🤦🏽♀️.

Beware the "Partial refund"The device did not fit. I followed their instructions to select the proper size according to WP.I paid for 2 day shipping and it took 5 days.If i had just worked with my vet I would have had a "Workable" solution for about the same amount of money i spent to fund the business.Sometimes good ideas are only good ideas.

Amazing company! The chair is very good quality, and the shipping was really fast. The customer service representatives are very helpful all throughout the purchasing process. They helped me out with the sizing of the chair and even after I received the chair, they emailed me asking if I needed any help with the setup and fit of the chair. This is such an awesome company !

The product itself really did seem of good quality. Unfortunately we couldn’t get it to fit our grandmothers dog. We ended up helping him cross the rainbow bridge shortly after we sent the wheelchair back for a return :-/ we tried it on him in the house and about 45 minutes later had it boxed back up. Their return policy does say they charge a restocking fee but when I checked my bank statement and saw a 40% charge I couldn’t believe it! I’m surprised Amazon allows them to sell on there with their poor return policy. They definitely need to be more forward in regards to that. We most likely would not have purchased if I would have known I’d lose almost half of what we paid if it didn’t work. What a horrible gamble when you’re just trying to help a dog in pain. Great concept, I love that it has helped so many animals. Customer service and return policy needs work. Real bad.

BUYER BEWARE! Their customer service is awful and their free shipping and returns are deceptive. Our dog's measurements did not match the the sizing chart for the rear leg splint. Customer Service advised us to give up a size and order a foam sheet to help with the fit. The purchase was over $60.00. We were assured that if it didn't work we could return in it's original pkg for a refund. When it arrived, the packaging looked quite shop worn. When we held it up to our dog it was obvious that we didn't even need to try it on - it was going to be too long for her leg. We called to see about exchanging it for the next size down. We were then told that we would have to PURCHASE a return label for $8 (not mentioned during the original purchase) and then we would be credited for our original purchase as long it was returned in good condition and in its original packaging. So we returned both the foam and the leg splint EXACTLY as we received it. We weren't told that we would not be credited for the foam or that we would be getting only $41.00 back for the splint. Before we knew that we wouldn't be treated fairly, we ordered a smaller splint as a replacement. We were surprised that we were forced to pay for yet another piece of foam to get free shipping or pay a ridiculous shipping fee. We begrudgingly ordered the foam. When the second splint arrived, we actually tried it on our dog. but it was too heavy and the bottom was too slick - there isn't any rubber or any soft surface to keep it from sliding out from under the dog. Rather than being ripped off again for another return I will try to find someone else who might alter it to function better and work for a dog who is younger and stronger than ours but in need of a splint. One thing is certain, I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE from these people again.

I had high expectations for purchasing a product for my dog from Handicapped Pets. While I understand that their items are of very high quality, I am frustrated with the return/exchange policy. I ordered an item and needed a different size so it was recommended that I return the original and purchase another size. I returned the item after thoroughly cleaning it of any fur (although there were a few spots where velcro had pulled on the fabric which was unavoidable when fitting it to my dog) that my dog had shed while trying it on. I was charged for Return Shipping and a 20% restocking fee so I paid $35 for the opportunity to find out it did not fit my pet?! I would not recommend purchasing from this company unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure that it fits your pet ahead of time :/

UPDATE : Jillian from Walkin' Pets reached out to me. They cancelled my duplicate order and added an extra discount for my trouble. Way to go, Jillian!!! Prompt responsive customer Service !! I needed to order a halo harness for my blind dog. I went online to this company's website and picked a harness for my dog. I also signed up for the 5% discount. The trouble began when I tried to check out. First, I found the check out process confusing because of the choices re shipping. One choice said free shipping and another choice indicated shipping "included in price". I tried to click on free shipping and the timer ( small circle circling) took a long time and then stated it had timed out and I had to begin the process again. Two more tries, system very slow and got dumped out again. Finally, I called to place my order. The representative apologized for my experience and agreed the online ordering system was very slow today. I asked whether given the difficulty I experienced attempting to order if she could lower the cost of the harness. She stated she was unable to apply any other discount other then the one I had already applied. I did order the harness but I believe it was poor customer service and poor customer retention not to knock ten bucks off the price. Thus, this review.

I had a dog that was in between sizes so after I initially received the chair i figured out that i was in need of a different size or advice on sizing it correctly, i was instructed by an employee to check the size and if we needed to exchange it wouldn't be an issue. The first person took the order and we never heard from him again, the second employee assured me they are available, i sent pictures it took over 2 weeks and 3 unanswered emails and 2 phone calls and voicemail to get a response. I completed the instructions and have been waiting for follow up instructions ever since. I had high hopes because these are good business's to support for animals welbeing but the customer support has been been very poor since purchase.Follow up. They still haven't reached out to rectify this situation.. It's been since Christmas. Completely useless customer service.

Ordered the wheelchair harness for our 10 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback who has DM. The ordering process is easy to follow, shipping was great, and the product appears to be quite sturdy. Our dog was able to use it the very first day. Will update this rating later if I have any issues with the product quality, but so far my dog is loving it and we're very pleased with that purchase. Also, the company sent us a link to watch a product demo as well as a "how to" video to help us with the chair's assembly... very thoughtful!

While the wheelchair purchase was a success, the harness has been an utter failure. The Velcro is coming off the harness in less than 3 months of use. I’ve reached out and been told to fix it myself - more money and I don’t have the tools, or I can clean it and send it back leaving my dog without support and us with more money out of our pockets. This has been utterly disappointing. It’s not like the harness was $30, it was almost $300. I would not buy another harness from here. I know expectations lead to disappointment, and my expectations did just that with this experience. I sadly, expected we’d be taken care of.Thanks for your reply. But, I have called. Several times. I’ve also emailed. There is no resolution on this and I’m still beyond upset we spent so much money for it to fall apart in less than 3 months. I stand by everything I’ve said. Unlike you. Your quality is needing some help as is the customer service when things like this happen. It’s unacceptable to expect more money AND leave my dog without support.

I have a large 3 legged senior dog. I ordered various harness’ from this company and none worked. My dog, Diego, has a missing back leg for the last ten years and is having troubles moving with his remaining back leg. I needed a harness that would stay in place and lift his rear for walks, using the bathroom and extra help from my.I called Handicapped pets and they referred me to a product that did not work. They also recommended I get the amputee cover which, was a waste of money, and I’m still not sure how it was supposed to work for Diego or how this company assumes a three legged dog is built. So I sent back everything and they denied my return. Essentially, you need to know 100% the product will fit because once you true on the product they can no longer accept it as a return. Diego only tried it one once and we cleaned it before returning it.I’m disappointed because I reached out for help and I tried to be understanding because I know all dogs are different, but it’s really frustrating when Diego and I desperately needed solutions, we reached out and this company was unable to help and wasted our time.I ended up finding a harness called HELP EM UP HARNESS if you have a large or three legged dog I would recommend buying that brand.Be careful ordering wheel chairs. Just go have them fitted in town because this company isn’t helpful on the phone and won’t accept returns.

We have large Weimaraner (14-1/2 yrs old) who has DM. Until recently she was able to walk some but has lost use of her back legs in that they can no longer support her weight. Bought a wheel chair and first set of wheels (largest) were just slightly too tall so purchased next smaller size and they work much better. Service was good, shipping was fast, product is very well engineered. We also ordered the front and rear harness and thought they were difficult to adjust and get hooked up to wheel chair. It took too long and dog was not happy and probably tired from being held up and jostled around so we used harness supplied with chair and that worked better in terms of getting in and out quicker. We are still on learning curve but at least she is outside walking around a couple times a day for 5-10 minutes. She can be with our other dogs and she seems to really like that. Would recommend this product and this company.

This cart has been wonderful for our German shepherd, Monty. He loves his walks! The cart was easy to assemble. We had to use treats the first time to get Monty into it, but now as soon as he sees us getting out the harness and leash, he is so happy. We had an issue with a piece that broke but customer service was extremely easy to reach and sent us a new piece right away. Thank you for giving Monty the ability to go on his walks again.

I had to send back for an exchange of the size I ordered was too big and they were awesome about taking care of me and arranging for an exchange. The draggin bag seems to work well for our senior dog who is losing the use of her rear legs. I feel she is safer and can't get scratched or hurt when she pulls herself across the floor now.
