I tried American K9 Country for the first time for one night of boarding and daycare. Upon picking up my Shichon I noticed her right eye was red. I immediately called and they told me she must have gotten shampoo in her eye. The next day I brought her to the emergency vet and was told that she has a severely bruised eye/trauma along with a tick that had not been there long. After the appointment I brought her back to American K9 to find that I had to speak to Amber who was not in. I e-mailed Amber that night and had to reach back out the next day at noon and she apologized that she was in training. She proceeded to tell me I signed a waiver and that there was nothing she could do about it and had zero compassion, not even asking how she was or even an apology. In regards to the tick, she indicated that there was no way she could have gotten it in her outdoor play area and it has been there for awhile (no idea how she would know this and disagree with the vet). Her last words after defending the facility was that she would put in the computer that I would not be returning. She now needs a cone and I have to put drops in her eyes for two weeks with a follow up appointment in hopes that it heals. If you want to board your dog in a safe facility, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.(The photo shown of her eye is at the vet with the doctor as well as a photo of her at home with the cone).

Phenomenal care of our giant babies! We've boarded here several times, and the care has been outstanding! We've had our danes groomed here also, and the team there is so good with them. Daycare is great as well, and they come home exhausted, which is worth it! American K-9 Country is by far the best place we've used!

If you treat your dogs like your kids I urge you not to send them here. My two English labs just finished a 9 day stay here and I had a gut wrenching experience. My dogs were dropped off early Monday morning and were signed up for nature walks and pool time. On Wednesday I got a call from Pam telling me my 8 month old lab had been biting at his front paws and wanted to know if I noticed behavior like this before I left on my trip-I said I didn’t and he was fine when I dropped him off—she went on to tell me she had no idea why he was biting at his feet but it was so bad they had to put a cone on him and put powder on his feet and stop pool visits and nature walks bc he was limping. I was extremely panicked bc I was across the country and there was nothing I could do and couldn’t imagine what was wrong with my boy. She went on to tell me he had a cyst between his toes and then started interrogating me about what kind of tick prevention I was using bc it clearly wasn’t working as they found many ticks on him—I said well I’m not allowed to leave his tick collar on when I drop him off and once again he was fine when I left him. She insisted that the ticks had been there since he was home and he didn’t pick them up during his nature walks. In this time she looked up the tick collar I used and told me it doesn’t work and I need to get something else. To make matters worse she then went on to tell me his feet probably hurt bc he’s overweight—this is when I really started to get angry as her comment was wildly inappropriate and uncalled for. (Mind you, my dog is an 8 month old English lab who weighs 85 pounds and has two parents that both weigh 95). I was so upset I had to hang up the phone bc there was nothing I could do from so far away and I didn’t want to say anything to make things worse for fear Pam would take it out of my dogs. A few hours later I called the facility to check on my dog bc I was so upset all I was doing on vacation was worrying about him. Pam answered the phone and she said “nothing is going to change in an hour” and that is when I asked to speak to a manager. To my surprise, Pam is a manager despite her gross misconduct in the work place. I ended up speaking with one of the owners and she told me Hank was fine his feet just didn’t dry after he had gone in the pool so they were itchy and he didn’t have a cyst in between his toes and all of this had nothing to do with his weight. I could not believe the two very different versions I got of what had happened to my dog. For the rest of the trip all I could think about was getting my dogs and never sending them back here ever again. My dog spent 7 days here after this incident and I had said to please suspend pool time but please continue the nature walks when his feet were better—I picked him up today and to my utter dismay I was told they had not taken him on another walk and the only thing he had done for 7 days was take quick potty breaks. I was absolutely crushed. I feel so bad that my energetic 8 month old puppy had to stay in a room for 7 days without exercise and no one at the facility seemed the least bit bothered by it. When we got home I took both my dogs for a walk and the one that had been biting his paws was running around with no issues at all which tells me he has been fine for days they just didn’t feel like taking him out. I also found ticks on my other dog who had been on nature walks even though Pam swears the dogs got ticks before their stay and definitely not during. I will never send my dogs here again and I will make sure no one I know ever sends their dogs here. Please learn from my mistakes and if you love your animals, find another daycare/boarding place to send them.

Just started using this place for dog daycare and have to say it’s great. Good value for what they provide as the dogs have a ton of space to play (can go indoor and outdoor). Additionally you can check on a webcam and see how the dogs are doing which my wife likes. Lots of other services provided in this professionally run and well kept facility. Certainly recommend from what we have experienced so far.

My 10 week old puppy had his first day care experience yesterday. The staff were amazing. They made it so easy to figure out what to do and they took such good care of our puppy. The staff made this place what it is and my puppy had the best day of his life so far!!!! Thank you all for your kindness and amazing care of our boy!!! He will see you tomorrow!!!!

Great place. It is big and clean, the staff is knowledgeable and shows care for my puppy. I really like the web cams so I can check on my puppy while I leave him for daycare.

Went to view the facility Amber was a turn off I decided to go else where for our doggie Gilbert. Also after going I dug into the reviews here a bit I'm suspecting there generating alot there reviews to help maintain there negative reviews. They seem like they could be a hit or miss but if your a real pet owner these pets are your kids and would you put your child at risk I know I would and never would.

Love it. Boarding check in / out could be a little streamlined but best facility around. Dogs are well cared for, exercised, come home happy and tired. Daycare checkin fast and easy

There is real promise here, but at least based on the day Ruby and I visited I would strongly encourage going elsewhere. We had reserved the pool online for half an hour. When we arrived we had to fully re-register, it's a bit unclear why we did anything online beforehand. The pool was then under repair with several loud conversations about everything that was broken between workers and staff out in the open the further delayed our half hour appointment. In the end, we got about 15 minutes of our half hour we paid for. We received multiple appointment reminders prior to attending, so if it was going to be under repair we could have been contacted to postpone our trip or at a minimum reduce our rental fee based on our shortened appointment. In the pool area many things were severely rusted, including the fire alarm being fully occluded by rust. I have worked in public pools and understand the difficulty in maintaining equipment, but if a fire alarm is present, it needs to be in working order.

I am astonished by the positive reviews for this facility.I caution pet owners about being mislead by the fancy facility which caused me to assume a standard of care would be delivered during boarding.I was horrified at the condition of my pet when I retrieved her. It was obvious that she had had minimal human contact. Her eyes were crusted and her paws had feces stuck to them. She trembled and whimpered for hours. What was most heartbreaking was a 4 to 5 pound weight loss. Clearly this was a very stressed animal that warranted notifying my emergency contacts. I caution others about leaving a pet at this facility.

Our Mel loves this place. He runs around with friends at daycare and gets attention at boarding. And when we pick him up he’s exhausted.

Excellent boarding and daycare. Our three goldens had never been boarded yet American K-9 made them feel right at home. Now they run out of the car to go in the door. They return tired and happy. Love the Webcam too.

We have two larger dogs and they love American K-9 Country. One boy is an extravert who loves to run, jump and play all day outside with the other dogs, the other is an introvert who likes to lay inside and nap.The webcams are wonderful when we board the boys and want to make sure they are happy and healthy. The staff is super friendly and they remember each dog and their unique personality. 10/10 would recommend!

I don't have many pictures to share. Everything you need to see is on their website. It appears to be a converted equestrian training site, so lots of space, which is unusual for most dog facilities.I live in Massachusetts but I drove an hour for this place and it was so well worth it. Our hiskies need space to roam. One of my huskies hates kennels and he did not want to leave this place.Someone commented that there were too many dogs but I take it these are the people who don't have never tried out this place and are simply looking at the cameras. In fact, I've never seen this many staff and they are in every part of the facility. Dogs are moved from outside to inside and vise versa and this keeps the dogs from getting bored.Checking in/out could be busy but the locals have it managed like clock work. We had no issues and without a doubt will be driving out again.I want to thank the super friendly staff for making our experience amazing. Also the Webcam is amazing for traveling parents to check in. We need more places like this.

Have been bringing my Labrador here for over a year since moving to the area. We have participated in classes, pool time, day care and boarding. My dog still loves coming here (drags me in) and the staff are loving and accommodating, and their web cams actually work and you can really see how your pup is doing. Most recently during a family illness crisis and then death of a loved one, they were overly accommodating with last minute boarding and taking care of things and going above and beyond the call of duty without knowing the whole situation. I cannot more highly recommend this team.

I would never bring my dog here again. She came home timid & sad from boarding. She received a gash in her left side, that will now be a scar forever. When I called to complain, I received no compassion. I was told she was a pitbull and that is why this happened. It was very dis-hearting.

Normally I'd rate this place 5 stars. We've had excellent experiences with their training and grooming team. We picked up our dogs from boarding and they were covered in urine and feces. Their blankets were covered in urine. I've grown up raising dogs and animals, this was well past just a dog having an accident. When addressing these concerns my brother was told to leave. There was no conversation other than Amber saying she hosed the area off and they smelled like dogs. Obviously something happened or the kennels weren't being cleaned properly through this stay. The level of aggression shown in a simple conversation was definitely over defensive. No voices were raised and Amber was mocking other customers while on the phone. Id love for another manager to reach out regarding this. Honestly an extremely disappointing experience from a place we entrusted with our animals. Instead of discussing what happened we were told we would be blacklisted from the place. I'd highly advise against any overnight boarding. Amber I'm a huge fan of you and Kaboom I'd imagine you'd be distraught if you had any of your pets returned to you in that manner.

I am new to dog sports and did a fast cat event at American K-9. I will never go back only due to Amber's (I recognized her from videos I have watched on agility) comments when she probably thought no one was listening. "A lot of these dogs aren't even running. They suck". How rude of her to comment on dogs that are giving money to her facility and there to have fun? It was our first event ever so to hear someone who, mind you, has been involved in sports for a long time, talk trash about other people and their dogs? What if they were new? What if they aren't there to get all the fancy ribbons and be top in the country? This is why newcomers feel so alienated and afraid to join dog sports. Because of comments like this. Granted, the event was organized VERY well so it's a shame that one comment has turned me off forever. If it wasn't from Amber saying it I would've been back. I can only imagine how she talks about her own students behind closed doors.

Fantastic training and dog resources. We brought our 1 year old pup in for basic training. Mostly, everything was perfect. If this was only about the trainers, it would be 5 stars. But the facility needs a microphone and speaker for the trainer who's speaking to large groups. They have agility training down below, and that's one of the loudest things I've ever heard. So, when our basic training course is occurring, at the same time as the agility, we could barely hear the trainer speaking. But that's the only bad thing. Everything else is like I said, fantastic. We recommend Nicole. She was extremely helpful in so many ways. The head trainer is also amazing. She truly knows what she is doing!

Great place. Supercute. Webcams to watch from work, tons of space for the dogs. You can add on pool time or walks around the property... They offer training, and agility courses. There's a seperste spa in house but last I checked they weren't taking in new clients.

stay away if looking for dog socialization or boarding. many many cases of kennel cough that go unchecked by this staff, and my friend’s dog just recently came home with chemical burns on her paws and covered in hives after boarding. do your research, ask questions about cleaning, and stay educated on canine illnesses!

I recently rescued a dog and was looking for daycare to help her socialize. This one was highly rated so I gave them a try. The facility is large and was clean. The staff is always friendly and ready to answer any questions I have. My dog came home exhausted and gets excited when we pull in to the parking lot so I know she is loving it. Their prices are reasonable. I recently boarded by dog and I didn't worry about her when I was on vacation because I know that she is happy in their care. I also checked out their cat condos for boarding my cats and they are also clean and roomy enough. I would highly recommend American K-9 Country!

I can’t say ENOUGH about this place. Not only do my dogs have a blast going there, they are taken care of by the staff like they are their own. I have three Great Danes with disabilities and they are given So much love and affection. The staff is always so friendly and happy to give updates on your pet at anytime while your away. Im that crazy dog mom who calls because I worry and they always are happy to give me an update. I really feel like my dogs are treated like they treat their own pets and I wouldn’t bring them anywhere else to get boarded. Not only am I on vacation but so are my dogs, with all the services and activities they have available. THANK YOU SO MUCH AMERICAN K9, you make my vacations better as I can go away knowing my dogs are in the best hands they could be! ❤️❤️❤️
