I’ve brought my cat Bristle here for almost 3 years now and have never experienced a bad visit. The staff have always been kind and courteous to me and helped me through some scary times when my cat started having seizures. The team reassured me, answered all of my questions, and provided me with every resource I could need for my cat and her condition. My cat remains happy and healthy and I know she is in good hands should anything happen to her. Even after moving 30 minutes away, I wouldn’t choose another vet because the team at Alton has provided Bristle with such excellent care while soothing my nerves as an anxious cat mom!

Both veterinarians are so attentive and spend time and listen . Last time I was there one of them spent time showing pictures of her animals with me and didn't rush me out like most do

I usually don't post or rate anything to start of with. (But) I live close to Alton. My 11 month old cocker spaniel needed to get spayed. From start to finish the people who worked there were very nice. Some of their policies I'm not a big fan of but business is business. ( I'm bored of typing, this is why I don't post) . I will keep going there until they give me a reason not to. There was an employee that stood out and I want to thank her for having an outstanding, positive attitude. THANK YOU Saltine.

I switched to this clinic a year ago. Both Doctors have seen my dog and cat and were great with each of them. Recently my 14 year old dog under went major oral surgery performed by Dr. Scire. They did every necessary pre op test to ensure he would do well with anesthesia, etc. Both Dr. Scire and one of the techs, Erica, did a wonderful job explaining everything before and after his procedure. I have had no problems scheduling appointments or with the communication from the front desk- they have all been extremely cordial and personable. I see many negative reviews about their cancellation policy, etc. This is a small business and these policies are in place to protect the employees and business as a whole. When people cancel last minute they are unable to fill those spots with other clients. Many other appointment based businesses such as hair and nail salons and pet sitting companies have the same policy. Please show respect to the folks that help to ensure our animals are happy and healthy.Thank you!

It has been a rough year for our Tucker with a significant back injury and now a diabetes diagnosis, but Alton Veterinary Clinic has been with us every step of the way with kindness and compassion. We are grateful for their professionalism and knowledge.

Even though they are renovating their office, they gave me and my brand new puppy the best treatment!

I should have listened to the advice on the street and picked a different vet to start.1st visit with my first ever pet kitten the front desk clerk tells me in detail about her cat she had to get rid of because it would attack her and others. She kept going on about this cat of hers (that mine reminded her of) who was just horrible.2nd visit the veterinarian comes in and starts apologizing as she goes to the computer saying “this doesn’t usually happen” to which her tech stops her and says “we haven’t told her, shes new so we weren’t going to” .. obviously at this point they tell me that last visit they forgot to document one of the shots so are unaware if they already gave her some, or if she needs more. then decided they will just go ahead and give her more.3rd visit I called in the morning to ask if I could bring my children as child care fell through, they told me I would just have to wait in the car with them while the appointment was happening. unfortunately Come time for the appointment I completely spaced it. My phone reminded me right at the appointment time and I called apologizing and saying I could be there in 15 minutes. they said that they can’t fit us in, which I completely understand. they also said there is a $55 missed fee that must be paid prior to rebooking.I asked if there was anyway they would waive this fee, giving it is the first time I’ve ever done it. They simply refused. I explained a bit more about the situation and they just shut me right down.Heres the thing, I understand the fee. I understand it’s a business, however there’s a difference between being a GOOD business and just being a business, this showed me exactly what type they are running. I gave them Grace, and treated them as humans the times they messed up. The first time I messed up they charge $55 (oh and another $20 to process the records so I can chance Vets)

My 88 year old mother called to reschedule an appointment due to an ice storm and was told that it was too late, and that she’d either have to come anyway or pay the $50 cancellation fee because “they have to pay their employees.” Obviously she didn’t make the drive (even though the expert receptionist told her that the roads should be clear by the time of her appointment), and promptly received a bill two days later. Great way to treat a loyal customer of nine years who pays upfront without question - every time. As her son my advice is take her business somewhere else - as quickly as possible.

The office Manager Brittany was very rude and condescending. I am taking my dog and cats elsewhere. My dog needed a second vaccine, which usually a vet tech can do and she pushed the apt out a month and said he would need an exam and have to restart the series after paying over $300 for his physical in August. Costing us a lot more money.

We started taking our 3 goldens to this clinic about a year ago. Before I explain my poor rating of this business, I want to say that the docs and technicians are qualified, experienced and care about animals. The office staff are courteous and professional. I suspect if you're someone who's on a budget, these people are reasonably priced and won't fleece you.I'm less concerned about how much things cost and more concerned about value and service for my dollar. Our negative experience took place last week. Our 14 y.o. golden had been feeling under the weather, and it was time for him to be seen. I scheduled an appt. and couldn't get in for 5 days. I could have taken him to the ER vet, but I knew he wasn't critical...just off. When I scheduled my appt., I was informed that if I cancelled within 24-hrs., a $50 fine would be assessed. I'm a CEO who has run multiple event-based businesses. This is a fair practice, and I agreed to the policy. When the appointment day came around, we were in the middle of a snowstorm. We live on a farm on a mountain on a dirt road. Like a lot of folks, we have 2 4WD vehicles...which don't do you much good when the road hasn't been plowed and there's ice -- which was the case on the morning of our appt. I tried to get off my road and struggled. Rather than end up in a ditch, I called the vet clinic, explained the situation and asked to reschedule. The person who answered the phone was super nice but informed me rules are rules. She was not empowered to use her best judgment and waive the fee. It didn't matter that the weather was bad. They wanted my $50. Let me be clear: I can afford to pay $50, and I did. You're welcome, Dr. Scire. What I find disturbing is how punitive the policy is. When I've run businesses with similar policies, I've had to make exceptions for extraordinary events like bad weather. Showing a tiny bit of empathy and compassion goes a long way. But, hey, if you need that $50...well, you do you. A smart person knows that she'll pay for that $50 over and over again in lost business and negative word-of-mouth.I know medical and veterinary professionals don't often think of themselves as being in a customer service-driven business. But they are. The simple fact is that there are quite a few great vet clinics in the area that are run by gracious and reasonable people. The petty hall monitor approach to running a business doesn't work for me. We took our pup to the emergency vet in Portsmouth (expensive and worth it -- excellent), and they put him on a really good new course of epilepsy meds -- something that was never mentioned to us here. We've also switched our regular vet to Cocheco.

Our experience in person with Dr was great however we have received attitude more than once from front desk in person and over the phone when asking questions even about appointment confirmations. Not giving the office a great feel.

I was shocked at how expensive they are now. Paid over $150 more than we paid at the emergency vet in Concord on a holiday weekend and they did the bare minimum. I'm going to take my pets elsewhere.

Extremely rude, aggressive office manager. Talks over you, condescending with name calling. If she answers the phone ask to speak to someone else. She needs customer service training! Very expensive with daily marketing emails for their products for sale. If you're looking for a friendly country vet, I suggest going elsewhere.

Just brought my 2 cats and dog in for their yearly visit. We usually have Dr. Malone who is fantastic but this time we had Dr. Scire and she was fantastic as well!!! Both doctors take their time and really checks out your pets and make sure they get everything they need.

Excellent staff all around Superior service! They saved my cat's life. Everyone, including the Doctor was very professional, kind and caring to my kitty. I thought my cat was going to die the day I brought him here! I could not have known in my wildest dreams that these wonderful people would save his life. I had never been there before, but I will never go anywhere else, now that I have been there. Thank-you all so very much for saving my Makita, he is the Love of my Life.

Got meds and all, less than $100. They really took the time to examine my dogs rash too. No bull or attempts to have unnecessary tests. Just here's what we think it is, and what we can do to clear it up. If it doesn't work, come back in and we'll run some tests...... How all medical needs should be met!

I'm a new client, this is a small clinic with a caring staff in a very clean converted antique home. The Doctor explained my dogs injury and treatment options using conventional and alternative treatment. I will be back and also recommend these caring people.

We have been taking our animals here for years. Dr. Siri is very thorough and takes as much time as needed to explain treatment and results of the evaluations, along with any recommendations.

My family cat of 17 years had to be put down recently. The staff was unbelievably so supportive. Even in post cremation, the staff reached out to me. When Zoe was brought in about 6 months before her passing, everyone that worked on her was amazing. My snoof snoof was not easy to deal with but the tech was so good that my cat barely knew she was at the doctors. Thank you to all who helped us through this difficult time. xoxo
