I knew Kimmi was the one for my shoot because I had checked out her portfolio before asking if she was up for the task of capturing images of my storefront and an active Yoga practice. All I had to tell her was to make it look warm and inviting. She did the rest. Her images are exactly what I need to help promote my business through pictures.

Kimmi is an awesome photographer. Found her by researching elopements since covid forced us to elope. She was super easy to talk to and communicate with via email or phone. Planning was a breeze, which I’m thankful for since I was replanning my entire wedding! Kimmi did an amazing job of photographing our small backyard wedding in South Lake Tahoe in June! We live out of town, so we corresponded over Zoom and email before the wedding and were able to plan some great photo locations together. Kimmi is super knowledgeable about the scenery and locations around Tahoe and had great ideas.The day of the wedding, she was so kind and approachable and made everyone feel comfortable, while also capturing wonderful pictures (a great mixture of posed and candid) of the day and of the lovely Tahoe landscape. Often wedding photos can look overly posed to me, but ours look really natural- in large part because Kimmi was so easy to work (and get along) with. I can’t say enough amazing things about the whole experience! Kimmi. Is. A. Gem. She did a great job capturing such a special day for us. She setup the cutest backdrop, orchestrated by my fiancè, and captured our proposal. We spent 3 hours together, traveling to different photo ops in Tahoe and used up all of the daylight! We recently travelled to the South Lake Tahoe area for a vacation and were interested in getting a maternity shoot done since the location was scenic. My husband and I had a September wedding in Oregon and were super fortunate to have Kimmi as our photographer. She has a very artistic eye and is a stealthy ninja that you won't even notice is there (if that's what you desire; we did). Kimmi did not allow the overcast weather to ruin our photos.Working with her even before the wedding was great! She is very thorough and responsive. Kimmi even thinks of things you probably wouldn't! My fiancé and I decided to elope after having to cancel our wedding and planned our out of state elopement in a short time frame. After our initial consultation, we felt very comfortable hiring her as our photographer. She was very knowledgeable about South Tahoe and easy to talk to about what we wanted for our day. The day of the wedding our families were very impressed and kept asking where we found her. They mentioned that she was calm, confident and organized - all great qualities you want in your photographer! She has a great eye and from the teasers she sent us, we can't wait to see more! We had the pleasure of working with Kimmi while on a family vacation on Lake Tahoe. I love having family pictures to look back on, but I don’t always enjoy the process. Having two boys (ages 5 and 3) I was anxious as to how well they would behave and cooperate on the day of the shoot, especially with someone whom they never met. From the moment we met Kimmi, she put me at ease. She interacted with the boys easily and got them to warm up. From making silly faces, saying their favorite foods, to picking up sticks... she knows how to get the shots. The photos turned out beautiful, and we will treasure them forever. Kimmi is also very accommodating and understanding. We were running a little late, and the parking lot at our original photo shoot location was filled up by the time we got there. She came up with a new location on the spot and met us there. We highly recommend working with Kimmi, and would definitely take pictures with her again.

After being engaged for over a year and the restrictions with the pandemic making it difficult to plan a wedding, we decided to charter a boat and get married on Lake Tahoe. We planned a small destination wedding with only about 25 people and since this was a second wedding for both of us and being an older couple, we really weren’t sure we needed to capture the day with professional photographs.After thoroughly searching the internet, I found Starscape Studios and after talking with Kimmi Cranes we happily decided to hire her. I explained the situation that we were getting married on a boat on a Tuesday in the middle of May 2021 with a very small wedding party and not wanting posed formal shots and she explained that she could take candids and keep it light and fun. She also was very informative about wedding planning in Lake Tahoe and sent me a list of other vendors while not giving an opinion on which ones she liked best, so we could make our own decisions. While talking to her, I felt so at home and felt like she was family. She is so caring and friendly, she truly listens and hears your wants and needs, she is a beam of sunshine and seems always content and happy. I got all this from the first phone call!After that, we communicated via text/email/phone and she quickly followed up to any questions that I had and issues with how she was going to take interesting photos with everyone being required to wear masks on the boat. She was so easy to work with and clarified how she would work it out. Luckily, a few days before our wedding day the restrictions were eased and masks were no longer required. The day of the wedding she arrived early and made herself invisible as she took photos. She always had a smile on her face and was so friendly with everyone. Our officiant was running a bit late and I was getting a nervous so Kimmi kindly offered to call her to make sure she was on her way, which she was thankfully. She went above and beyond to make our day super special. The photographs came out beautiful! They were just what we wanted, seeing our wedding stunningly captured and seeing our family and friends enjoying themselves on our special day. I am so relieved that we decided to hire a photographer. We were so blessed to have found Kimmi and Starscape Studios. I still feel like she is family and I highly recommend you hire her for your special day! You will not regret it!
