Amazing Tour! I would recommend to anyone visiting Lake Tahoe. The inside of the boat is super nice for a tour boat. It is set up banquet style and each passenger has their own individual table by the window. They have an open bar and bar food as well. During the winter the second and third deck are cold and windy but offer beautiful views!! Spend the $ and book the tour! You will not regret it.

My wife and I cruised on the Dixie in late March of this year. Our journey across Lake Tahoe was wonderful fun! Being able to get out on that magnificent blue lake was awe-inspiring, and slowing down into Emerald Bay was breathtaking. Late March was still winter, and we were lucky to catch a window of not extreme weather, that Tahoe had this year. The Dixie has plenty of inside seating to be sheltered from the weather, yet being on the top deck with the cold breeze certainly lets one know they are alive and invigorated.A wonderful experience and I recommend the Dixie cruise highly.

Great experience with Lake Tahoe Cruise. Lake Tahoe is so stunning beautiful and cold during this time. We got on the boat at Zephyr Cove, Nevada side. It was easy to get there and staffs are very helpful.

Fantastic cruise. Boat is nice, plenty of room to move around. The views are panoramic and unforgettable. Pictures do no justice. The staff is also wonderful!

Loved everything about the cruise. All seasons are good to visit, yes Spring is the best time

Great way to see the lake if you are first time in Tahoe (goes to emerald bay!). Classic boat looks cozy. Interior is a bit "tired" and dining is far from fine/posh (plastic cups for cocktails). Its OK if you don't set expectations too high. On the way back they do live band - very friendly experience.

The experience exceeded my expectations. Despite the slightly outdated interior, sitting on the top deck offered a truly wonderful opportunity to take in the breathtaking beauty of Lake Tahoe in its entirety.

Went on the evening dinner cruise. Dinner was good. Steaks and salmon dinners were wonderful and the wild mushrooms ragout was a big hit with our vegetarian. Cheese cake for dessert was scrumptious! The only draw back to the meal was the salad. The lettuce was slightly wilted and the cherry tomatoes were way past being used. Service was friendly and prompt. With our group being large we were automatically charged a gratuity per person. By the time we added in drinks it averaged about $140 per person for the cruise. Historical information provided was interesting, but you had to be on upper two levels to hear it. We arrived at emerald Bay at last light, so the water colors had lost their beautiful blues. All in all, a very enjoyable and relaxing cruise. There were three Birthday party groups on board and they had enough to drink they definitely enjoyed themselves. Music was enjoyable....

Absolutely beautiful. The trip around the lake was amazing. The bartender was a sweetheart. Very helpful staff. It would be nice if they had more food selection. Great ride for family and friends. Note: this ride has the best prices in town I looked around and this one was affordable.

One of the best activity here in South Lake Tahoe. They provide shuttle pick up and drop off at Harvey's and Harrah's

We did the sunset dinner cruise, and enjoyed it more than I imagined I would. I was with my family of 6, we ate first and enjoyed the food. Don't order the steak and expect steakhouse steak, but it was good and we enjoyed our time. The cheesecake was FANTASTIC! After dinner, we went up top and stood and sat near the bow. We felt the breeze and enjoyed the views.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE 💯! My husband booked the MS Dixie ll Sunset Dinner Cruise for our 1st wedding anniversary last weekend and we had an absolutely lovely time. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. We got a window table for dinner so we had great views while eating. The dinner was AMAZING! Both my husband and I agree that it was the best ribeye we've ever had. Our server Juan was so pleasant too. After dinner, we went up to the top deck and enjoyed the views/sight seeing while listening to the audio about the history of Emerald Bay. Then we went to the second deck where we watched the live band, which was amazing BTW, danced and shared a couple cocktails. Overall we had an AMAZING experience. We are so glad we chose this Cruise to help celebrate our I year of marriage and we are already talking about doing it again, but with friends.

We went the first week of May to Celebrate Mother's Day. It was snowing a bit that weekend and it was definitely too cold to actually sit outside because of the wind/snow combo in some areas. We'd been on this day cruise exactly one year before. The views were totally different and although we didn't get to see the lakes beautiful blue colors there was still that magic about the lake. For me, seeing the snow fall on the nearby pine trees while sipping hot chocolate inside the boat was a beautiful and peaceful experience. This is coming from someone who doesn't experience much snow living in Southern CA. On a side note, the waitress there has a lovely attitude!

I have been on this Lake Cruise 3 times. This was the first time with my Fiancé. We were hoping to get married but unfortunately the captain was not ordained. We had a fantastic time anyway.I highly recommend it. It's absolutely amazing.

It was a really fun experience! We did the 2:00 PM tour. For a summer, sunny day, it was still a little bit cold because of the wind. I like the drinks that they are serving, and the food was good. The staff are really nice.

Good dinner and service. My only complaint is there's not many viewing areas for wheelchair users. The deck you see me on is not level and I didn't want to stay inside.

Always a great time on this Cruise getting out on the lake. The boat seriously needs to update it's audio story that's a solid 25 maybe closer to 30 years old and put some new facts about the lake on there including referencing maybe some of the organizations that have fought to keep the leg clean and preserved so future generations can enjoy the wonderful afternoon on the lake such as the current guests on the boat or doing. Dinner cruise always had an excellent food but I do not recommend it for children. Nor do I recommend the cocktail cruise. The sightseeing cruise is the most popular. These have gotten extremely overpriced in the past 10-12 years with different companies acquiring not only the MS Dixie but all the crews oats on Lake Tahoe so really an afternoon out of the lake for any local has been outpriced beyond are means but for tourists I'm sure you won't care. Have a great time.

Great experience. The ship had a great crew that was nice and friendly. The views and facts that were given as we sailed thru each place was educational and amusing. Overall, definitely a great time exploring lake tahoe.

Great staff. Bartender was funny and friendly on the middeck. Good details through the cruise. The video and narrations do need some updating but overall we had a great time. The familiarization with nautical terms was ok but they're not stairs, they're ladders or ladder wells :)

Went on the 11 AM cruise in late Aug / early Sept, and for the most part I think this was a good experience. It's primarily a sightseeing cruise to Emerald Bay and back, total trip time is about 2 hours. Tickets for the cruise are $65, lunch or drinks are extra once you're on the boat (and seemed a little overpriced). There is an evening cruise as well, but the tickets are almost $100 per person. There's some kind of pre recorded narrative of the history of Lake Tahoe and other stuff, but I really didn't care much for that, I just enjoyed being on the water more. The line to get on the boat starts about 30 minutes PRIOR the boat taking off, but don't feel like you are missing out if you're not the first in the line, since I was on the back end of the line myself but still got all the pictures I wanted. If you're on the first ride (11AM), I recommend going to the LEFT side of the boat (when first boarding), since that side will be in the SHADE when going towards Emerald Bay. Someone in a previous review mentioned that they over pack the boat with people, however, on my tour it wasn't too bad (but still ALOT of people in general). My biggest tip is to not worry about missing out on pictures, especially on the ride towards Emerald Bay. The boat takes the EXACT same path to and from Emerald Bay (straight line there and back), and in my experience, everyone was running around crazy the whole first half of trip, trying to squeeze next to people and get pictures, but once we arrived at Emerald Bay, everyone just stopped caring and either sat down, went inside to eat, or get drinks at the bar. I do want to make a note that it's cool that you can see the water go from deep blue to greenish once you're at Emerald Bay.IMO, it's actually better taking pictures at the second half of the trip, since the back of the boat on the top deck is clear of any obstructions (like the loading path hanging in the front). However, I do feel like the tour should be updated so that the boat does take a DIFFERENT path back, just so that you get to see some other sights and maximize your time on the lake. The main negatives from me is the price, ESPECIALLY during the summer months when the mountains are all covered in smoke / haze. I don't know if they increase the ticket prices even more during the winter or spring months (which is when I'd recommend you doing this, just because of how beautiful the mountains would be with snow on them), but I'd feel good about paying $50 per ticket during those times, and right around $35 per ticket during the summer. Also, taking a different route back would be an update I'd like to see to the tour. Finally, the parking IS NOT free (smh, really...?). I understand "touristy" areas do this all the time, but come on, you should have a parking pass included WITH your ticket if you're going on the ride.I highly recommend wearing sun screen, and bring a light hoodie (or jacket, hat, and gloves in the winter time). All in all, since I enjoy being out on the water so much, I still had a great time. It's very relaxing, and you do get to see Lake Tahoe from a different vantage point than just driving around the lake in your car.

The crew was friendly and the cruise was nice and relaxing. Of course the scenery was amazingly beautiful. The bathrooms were decent enough. Would have given 5 stars but feel like it was a bit pricey for just going in a straight line across the lake and back again.

Did the dinner cruise. I had the salmon and it was nice. Waiter was great but service was slow. Took forever between salad and entree and even longer for dessert. Entertainment was ... Interesting. You can't beat the scenery! Lake Tahoe and Emerald Bay are amazing.

Great views. No rocking on the boat which was wonderful! The sunset cruise was great. Food was pretty good. I had a salad, diner rolls, salmon with mixed vegetables, and cheesecake with strawberry drizzle. I’d rate the food a 4/5. I’d do the cruise again as it was comfortable And having the food was an added plus. I wish the speakers outside were a bit louder as it was hard to hear the history of Vikingsholm with all the people on deck. Alcohol is served.

We had a fantastic trip on the Dixie Boat. The mountain views from the water are breathtaking and just cannot he beat. The drinks were delicious as was the food we ordered and for reasonable prices. The staff were all very friendly and the history the captain spoke as you cruised was refreshing to hear.

A little crowded, the steak wasn't good, the potatoes were yummy. The views are spectacular and are the main reason for this trip. Would have gave 5 stars if the food was better.

Amazing views and great historical facts about the lake and it's origin. The mid day cruise on the MS DIXIE II was one for the books, super relaxing, especially up on the 3rd deck. Head to the gift shop where you can see the paddle wheel in FULL ACTION (something the kids will enjoy!) The drinks were meh, so I wouldn't waste time on em. If you have reservations make sure you say your last name clearly and spell it out when checking in, otherwise the old sea dog may throw a bit of a fit. The only great customer service received here was the gift shop attendant and photographer. I want to try the night cruise, but I'd definitely do the mid day again just to relax

This was a nice dinner cruise. The cruise lasts 3 hours. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. It was actually pretty good. The server was excellent. I was able to walk around the ship on the top deck and middle deck. There's a small gift shop inside as well. The views were great!

Nice informational tour of the lake and geology of the surrounding area. Very pretty scenic views. It was also my first time on a paddle boat which was a neat experience. The main place they take you is Emerald Bay, where you’ll see the Viking influenced Castle/Manor and the tea house built on a rocky island outcrop.
